It was definitely just a chill diner vibe. Casual for sure. There were many options, definitely southern food with fried chicken, sandwiches, pulled pork etc.. I have ordered soup and salad. Italian wedding soup with half of turkey with coleslaw. This Italian wedding soup was very different from what I expected. It had sausages and beans. Which I've never had Italian wedding soup like that before. It was fairly salty. For the sandwich I would say it was alright also. I'm not sure if I liked turkey with coleslaw. It was something new to try though. For the baked good, I've got cinnamon rolls and some cookies. And that's where it is at! In town for Geowoodstock and decided to check this out based on reviews! AMAZING! service was fantastic from our own super nice and engaged server to others just being super polite. Husband decided to check out pepperoni roll and it did not disappoint. He's not normally a pepperoni guy and he liked it (got it just to check out since it's a WV staple). Daughter built her own burger which she said was good. I did BLT and onion rings which were very good. All portions were extremely generous. But the bakery is where it's at. We are not the type to typically order desserts. Especially after lunch. But we left with 1/2 dz assorted cookies and 2 cupcakes just because we had to TRY them. Stopped for "brunch" on Saturday, but it was slightly past 11am and the breakfast menu was no longer available. We chose the fish sandwich and their version of a pepperoni roll from the regular menu. Our server was prompt and friendly and our food came out very quickly. The pepperoni roll was covered in what they refer to as a "meat sauce", but it tasted exactly like chili to me. It was warm, gooey, and comforting with the melty cheese on top. It was an interesting rendition and I didn't hate it, but I don't know if I need to order it again. The house chips were great. They were very crunchy, fresh, and seasoned with salt and some other spices. I was super excited to pick up some cookies from the massive stack behind the plastic wall. We got a chocolate chip and one oatmeal raisin. The flavors were great, but the oatmeal raisin was a little dry. I do love the decor and ambiance inside, though. It reminds you of the most cozy diner with all of the different pictures and memorabilia hanging up and the booth seating. Food is ok not always hot when you receive it and if you ask them to heat it up or Cook longer they don't like to do it and give you an attitude that should not be given for they did not prepare the food correctly for fresh hot food. The service can be difficult at times depending on the waitresses or waiters. The Ambiance can be a little bit difficult for some of the servers are very slow and some are very busy. We have eaten here at various times and the service has been the same during breakfast, lunch , and dinner times . So hopefully when you go you get a good server and the foods done as ordered. read more

Had to leave before getting served. Server was the rudest person I have come across in a LONG time. Was not happy when we asked to be seated elsewhere, and was down right obnoxiously obvious that she did NOT want to wait on us. We were talked down to and given dirty looks, all because we asked to move from a dark corner by the kitchen and soda fountain stations! The restaurant was practically empty as we were there at 10:15 , so it wasn't like they couldn't seat us elsewhere. Great lunch with the family. The chicken noodle soup (wife) and tomato basil (me) was perfect on a chilly early winter afternoon. Kids loved their Mac and cheese- shells were extra points for them! Terrie had been raving about the place and wanted to show it to me. PRO: Dessert Heaven CON: They do not Brew their own tea! I went with Unsweetened Iced Tea with Lemon (no lime Available) and so did Terrie, but alas no brewed tea. I accepted my fountain drink tea buy not a happy camper. This was the first time I was here. It was bright, clean, and the staff were all very friendly. Our server Amy was great! We had the chicken pot pie and it was FANTASTIC. First and second time there was delicious and generous portions for the price. Last time was disappointing - food tastes good but the portions greatly reduced (not the price, though). Went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Was sat quickly and staff were all very friendly. Food was good, not great, and was somewhat bland. They do not have Tabasco so bring your own. I don't understand how restaurants don't stock that as a staple condiment. Especially a breakfast place. I had biscuits and gravy. My wife had the breakfast sandwich and my son just had the country breakfast. All were under whelming. The cookies are excellent and the pies looked good but we did not have one. I feel like it's been a long time since I had amazing food and fantastic service in the same location. In Morgantown to see WVU and my son insisted that this was the only place to eat breakfast. I was waffling between a 3 or a 4 star rating. It's an average place. First off-Service. VERY FRIENDLY, POLITE AND PROMPT. It was on point. My glass was half full and my server asked if she could refill it. She called me ma'am every time she came to my table. She was very nice. Second off-Food. Everything on the menu SOUNDS great. But mmmmm. I don't know about that. I got the Thursday special. Turkey dinner. I thought it said with stuffing on the board. I didn't get any. I asked to sub rice pilaf for the vegetables. I asked for the mashed potatoes on the side. The rice pilaf was a bit crunchy like it had been sitting or wasn't cooked enough. Even if it was right, I just would not have liked it. Tasted like frozen peas and corn had been added. The gravy was good. I got three slices of Turkey and I don't know it just tasted fatty or processed. It was cut very uniformly, so it leads me to believe it's prepackaged. I actually spit out two bites because it just plain wasn't that good. I liked the rolls (I asked for a second) but they also tasted like they were warmed in a microwave. That's why I can't go up to a four star review. Third off-Dessert. What in the fatness is going on here?? My table had a view of cookies. So of course I had to order my weight in cookies. They have cakes, pies, cupcakes. This is where they shined!!! I got cookies for parents. I got cookies for me. I ate a peanut butter one. Heaven! Sugar cookies have my heart. And I just had a bite of theirs and...it's good. It is. It doesn't taste like a traditional sugar cookie but I like it. The cookies are soft, thick and dense. And weigh a ton!! I could lift them to work out with if I wanted to. It's the calories weighing them down. Fourth off-Very clean and cutely decorated. Nice homey feel. Would I recommend this place? Yes. For the desserts. I could not in good conscience tell someone the food was good. If I lived here I would give this place a second try. Maybe it's because I had a special and not an every day menu item. It was so good we went back for more! Highly recommend the three cheese panini and the cranberry salad -- and of course any dessert. All of them were phenomenal (and we sampled several haha). I would not eat there again I heard "bad words"coming the kitchen with my 6 year old baby girl her poor ears and bit to mention when we walked in the manager yelled that she doesn't have room for us after I said to the worker that we had a party of 6 it was not a great environment for kids the men's bathroom was filthy somebody was sick in the bathroom while my children were trying to use the restroom and the the food wasn't very good except for the spaghetti and "meatballs" that not to mention only came with one meatball after they advertised that there would be more than one meatball by saying meatballs.
