Virgin Bloody Mary ... tasted as good as etoh one ... that bacon was very good
Kathryn F.

Well we thought we had one of the first reservations at 10:30. There was a party of 20 ahead of us. We believe they are the reason they ran out of bacon on a clothesline. We had very sad faces. Since we were driving home today, I stuck with the Virginia bloody Mary. It was very good. We had the pepper biscuits. Warm, dense, and huge. Glad we ordered a 1/2 order (4 is a full order). Morgantown has damn fine bacon. The BLT was delicious. Finished up my meal with a cup of Long Island Strawberry hot tea. Local business supporting another business. We put The Tea Shoppe on our list of places to visit before leaving town. How soon can we make reservations for graduation weekend?

Our appetizer and entree were very delicious and well presented. Our desserts weren't quite as good and felt since we went the day after Valentines that they may have been leftovers from that day as the brownie we ate tasted a bit stale. We received excellent service as well. Drinks were averagely priced. We love when restaurants are able to repurpose these all brick buildings and even more so when they feel warm and welcoming as this one did. We can't wait to be back when the weather is better to try and sit outside.

Rosemary chicken with potatoes and Brussel sprouts

Very disappointed with this restaurant and really upset at the waste of money and an evening out. Cocktail menu didn't have anything worth spending $15 for a drink. My friend and I both ordered the rosemary chicken breast and paid an upcharge for Brussel sprouts. It seemed to take a decent amount of time to get our food when there were maybe three parties total of 1-3 people. Waitress was fine but not overly helpful. When our food finally arrived the chicken was so over cooked it was shrunken and nearly inedible. I was shocked at how little the plate was filled. The Brussel sprouts and potatoes were at least edible but nothing impressive. With a glass of wine, I paid nearly $40 with tip for a terrible meal. We left and went elsewhere for a drink and dessert because we were all still hungry.

Excellent place for brunch. Arrived at 10am on a Sunday and no wait. When we left it was getting busier but they have a lot of tables. Super cute inside with exposed bricks and decor that keep with the historic vibe while maintaining a modern clean vibe. Our waitress was amazing. Personable and attentive. Chloe was a rockstar. Ordered the breakfast board and the huge cinnamon roll. Was not disappointed! More than enough to share with 3 to 4 people or two very hungry ones. The cinnamon roll icing was amazing, the perfect amount of sweet but not over whelming. Bacon is worth the trip alone. We loved it so much we will be back during our stay in Morgantown.

Stopped here for a Saturday evening meal while in town. This has an interesting look to it - old world accents with the Carolina rustic wood and dark fixtures. Large bar area and whatnot. PARKING IS A TRUE NIGHTMARE. BEWARE. ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING WITHIN "The Wharf District" Ordered the bier cheese and pretzels for an appetizer which was very good - though it was slow coming out. Cheese was very good and even though it would have been nice to have maybe 1-2 more pretzel sticks, was good enough. For an entree I ordered the ribeye without the mushrooms and onions - not a fan just wanted it ready to roll, and asked for it medium. Came out medium for the most part - but of the 10oz I received maybe 6? Was just meat without the fat and gristle. Was tasty. Not worth $32 not that I look at prices that much - seemed steep to me. Came with mashed potatoes and vegetables - which were very odd - squash, zucchini, onions, peppers, and tomatoes? Kind of an odd combo to me. Decided against asking to see dessert and headed out. Our waitress was nice but even though there weren't that many tables she was tasked with doing other stuff and would routinely forget about us. Took about 20min to pay after getting the bill.

Online presence - The yelp page is popular and has many reviews. (1) First impression - Very odd. Saturday night? No hostess, bartender came from behind to help seat us, only one menu available to share?? (0) Signage/(Chalkboard appreciation) - Liked the chalk beer list up above. (1) Lighting - Cool Edison lighting (1) Unique food choices - To me, there were not a lot of food choices. (0) Style / furniture - Style and furniture were great. (1) Temperature - Good for me, not too hot, not too cold. (1) Noise - I can see where this place could get noisy but wasn't when we went. (1) Good taste / food - I liked what I ordered. Taste was great. See photos. (1) Waiting time - only waited for drinks to be refilled - had to ask. (0) Waitress knowledge - fine, kind of busy it seems like? Kind of off (.5) Price - I assume fine (1) Chips to guac ratio (if applicable): Pretzels and cheese were ordered...but there weren't enough pretzels. (0) Cleanliness - clean (1) parking - To put it plainly, the parking situation is not worth what is offered inside. (0) Overall 9.5/ 15

Recently relocated to Morgantown so exploring new places are my new norm :) this place NAILED both experience, ambiance, and food. Family is in town visiting and always see Flour & Feed on the trail so decided to take them. They also loved the experience! Such a cute building & not only is the ambiance great, they also had live music which we love! Fried green tomatoes, orange glazed salmon, veggie bowl, & the chimichurri steak were ALL 10/10 Also love had they had New Zealand, Australia, & South African wine Can't wait to go back!

Brunch today at 10am was good. great server. We got the breakfast board and shared it for 3 and amount was good. liked the bacon better than sausage. we got the cinnamon roll to go- it is actually not that big. quality is fine but would not order it again at price of $10. would return to try another time. loved the brick wall

Lovely back patio!

What a delightful find with an amazing back patio along the bike trail and river. Delicious brunch food. Attentive and friendly service. Great beverages. Definitely going to stop in for dinner next time we are through Morgantown!

This spot is a great location on the water, with outdoor dining! They have fresh herbs in pots on the back porch that they use in the dishes. The restaurant was practicing social distancing and the staff were wearing face mask. The food was delicious, would recommended asking for beer cheese to dip the fries in! The pierogi's were fantastic! Too bad this place is closing temporarily because it is a must try.

I know this isn't Star Search, but Yelp really should let us use fractions in our ratings. If they…read moredid, I would give Iron Horse Tavern ... drumroll ... three-and-three-quarter stars (Ed McMahon voice)! But Yelp doesn't, and since 3.75 is closer to 4 than it is to 3 (right?), 4 stars it is. Whew, that's all the math I care to do today. My pulled pork nachos were not my favorite. It could have been a user error, though -- I didn't see on the menu that the cheese they were using was beer cheese. I just saw "pulled pork" and my mind went blank, and I had to order the nachos. In my opinion, a little beer cheese goes a long way, and these nachos had lots and lots of beer cheese. The only other ingredients on the nachos were jalapeno and a sprinkling of chives, so they were a little one-note. I think a different cheese and adding something else (avocado, maybe? Or beans? Green onions?) would have helped. We also got the mac and cheese, both the adult size and the child size. I was told that the mac and cheese was good, and both portions were huge. In fact, the child's-size mac and cheese was almost as large as the adult size. The kids menu has all of the kid heavy hitters, like chicken tenders, a smash burger, grilled cheese and a chicken sandwich. Kids meals come with chips or apple slices. We also got the Beets & Greens salad, which is a mixed-green salad with roasted red and yellow beets, green apple, candied walnuts, goat cheese and a poppy seed vinaigrette. This was honestly the best thing we ordered, and I think if I were to visit again, I'd get a salad. Iron Horse has eight salads on their menu, which is quite a lot, for a pub-type place. Actually, I'd get a salad and one of their handmade pierogis. Whenever a restaurant hand-makes something, you should always get that! I usually do, but got caught up in thinking about pulled pork. Oh well. The service here was great. The restaurant itself is nice, with a huge bar area that takes up about half of the restaurant. This looks like a nice place to watch sports and get a beer or something.

Unfortunately, we only received half of our order and had to share one entree and side. We ordered the B3 Mac and cheese, brisket handheld, house BLT and jalapeño cornbread for delivery. When our order arrived I was handed only the Mac and cheese and brisket sandwich. By the time our order got there the restaurant was already closed so we couldn't even call and get the missing items. Both the items we received were actually really good but we were disappointed that half our order was missing. The sandwich had balsamic onions, Swiss and horsey sauce and was very tasty. The fries that came with the sandwich were seasoned well and also really good. The Mac and cheese was creamy and had a nice amount of bacon. I'd love to give them another shot the next time we're in the area since the food was good. Hopefully we'll get to try the cornbread next time.

I was looking for a nice bar for a cocktail and appetizer by myself, and I found the Anvil and Ax (inside the Hotel Morgan) menu via google and decided to stop. Street parking is available all around. The doorman was so nice! There were several couples at the bar, so I sat at one of the tables near the bar. It took a while for the bartender to come over to me and give me a menu. I ordered the french martini and asked if there was a food menu available. She said they didn't serve food until later in the day, even though the online menu said otherwise. My martini was great. Service was subpar. She set my martini on the edge of the bar and I had to go up and get it- no big deal, I just thought it was odd since they weren't busy. The bartender never came back over to me; I went up to the bar to close out and pay my bill like 15 minutes after I finished my drink. There are certainly some kinks to work out, especially with service, but this place has potential to be very nice!
