Very disappointing experience. After a long drive from NJ to WV, I was looking forward to a nice brunch meal. I was in for an experience for sure! The menu lacked options I felt and they did not have a single side of potato besides sweet potato. We placed our order pretty quickly, but then that's when the long wait started. It look maybe an hour or more to finally get our food. It took so long that the table who sat after us got their food, finished it, paid, and left. Another table sat down and ordered drinks and food and decided to leave after waiting thirty minutes just for their drinks to come. Once the food arrived, it was low key cold. My waffles were very dense and the chicken was dry, tough, and flavorless. My dad was given the wrong side and asked for his waffle to be extra crispy which they weren't. My brother thought his biscuit was very hard to eat but enjoyed the flavor it had to offer. The best thing we got was the pretty fruit bowl which I have to note some of the fruit had dirt on them. read more

We stopped in early ish on a Saturday evening. Service was great, food was good. We started with two appetizers (we were a party of five). Charcuterie board and the spinach dip. They disappeared quickly. The adults had adult beverages - one in particular (an apple cider mule) was quite delicious and unusual. Two of us ordered the rosemary chicken. Very healthy and tasty meal, but truly that meal could be split between people easily. You get two 6 oz breasts. The oven roasted potato medley was delicious. Another got the F&F steak. Steak Fries were awesome that came with it. We also got a side of rice, Mac n cheese and a spinach salad. All very tasty. We were too full for the desserts. But we did eye another customer receive the plate size cinnamon roll. It's looked yummy. Just couldn't do it this time. We will skip the appetizers next time to make room for dessert! read more

Well we thought we had one of the first reservations at 10:30. There was a party of 20 ahead of us. We believe they are the reason they ran out of bacon on a clothesline. We had very sad faces. Since we were driving home today, I stuck with the Virginia bloody Mary. It was very good. We had the pepper biscuits. Warm, dense, and huge. Glad we ordered a 1/2 order (4 is a full order). Morgantown has damn fine bacon. The BLT was delicious. Finished up my meal with a cup of Long Island Strawberry hot tea. Local business supporting another business. We put The Tea Shoppe on our list of places to visit before leaving town. How soon can we make reservations for graduation weekend? read more

Our appetizer and entree were very delicious and well presented. Our desserts weren't quite as good and felt since we went the day after Valentines that they may have been leftovers from that day as the brownie we ate tasted a bit stale. We received excellent service as well. Drinks were averagely priced. We love when restaurants are able to repurpose these all brick buildings and even more so when they feel warm and welcoming as this one did. Very disappointed with this restaurant and really upset at the waste of money and an evening out. Cocktail menu didn't have anything worth spending $15 for a drink. My friend and I both ordered the rosemary chicken breast and paid an upcharge for Brussel sprouts. It seemed to take a decent amount of time to get our food when there were maybe three parties total of 1-3 people. Waitress was fine but not overly helpful. When our food finally arrived the chicken was so over cooked it was shrunken and nearly inedible. I was shocked at how little the plate was filled. The Brussel sprouts and potatoes were at least edible but nothing impressive. With a glass of wine, I paid nearly $40 with tip for a terrible meal. We left and went elsewhere for a drink and dessert because we were all still hungry. read more

Excellent place for brunch. Arrived at 10am on a Sunday and no wait. When we left it was getting busier but they have a lot of tables. Super cute inside with exposed bricks and decor that keep with the historic vibe while maintaining a modern clean vibe. Our waitress was amazing. Personable and attentive. Chloe was a rockstar. Ordered the breakfast board and the huge cinnamon roll. Was not disappointed! More than enough to share with 3 to 4 people or two very hungry ones. The cinnamon roll icing was amazing, the perfect amount of sweet but not over whelming. Bacon is worth the trip alone. We loved it so much we will be back during our stay in Morgantown. read more

Cheese was very good and even though it would have been nice to have maybe 1-2 more pretzel sticks, was good enough. For an entree I ordered the ribeye without the mushrooms and onions - not a fan just wanted it ready to roll, and asked for it medium. Came out medium for the most part - but of the 10oz I received maybe 6? Was just meat without the fat and gristle. Was tasty. Not worth $32 not that I look at prices that much - seemed steep to me. Came with mashed potatoes and vegetables - which were very odd - squash, zucchini, onions, peppers, and tomatoes? Kind of an odd combo to me. Decided against asking to see dessert and headed out. Our waitress was nice but even though there weren't that many tables she was tasked with doing other stuff and would routinely forget about us. This spot is a great location on the water, with outdoor dining! They have fresh herbs in pots on the back porch that they use in the dishes. The restaurant was practicing social distancing and the staff were wearing face mask. The food was delicious, would recommended asking for beer cheese to dip the fries in! The fries were good. My friends burger was ordered well done and had bright pink in the center. She also ordered it without the bun and it was served on the bun. I scored this place 3 stars because the drinks were good as well as the atmosphere. The manager knocked off half price of each entree which we appreciated. I ordered my whole time fav Cobb Salad. When the waiter brought our food over, I thought it was my friend's salad because I did not see any avocado, instead, there were uncut big chunks of lettuce. I order Cobb salad everywhere I go but I have never seen anything like this. They put thick pork belly chunks instead of chicken but was fine to me, but the fatty part was just so big that it kinda grossed me out. We also tried their poutine but it turned out to be some soggy fries with cheese. I've had poutine several times when I visited Canada....I would assume I know what poutine tastes like? This restaurant has a great outdoor seating area and a really nice interior atmosphere. The staff was nice and the presentation on our meals was beautiful! However, I was disappointed with my food. I got the Cajun mac and cheese and it was really lacking flavor. My friend ordered a medium rare steak and it was delivered medium well. We also ordered poutine and were disappointed with that, it was unlike any we have eaten before. We waited 45 minutes for the waitress to ask us our order. We were at the restaurant for over two hours. Our drank glasses were empty for most of our meals. We've come to this place twice and had a terrible experience both times. First time we waited 80 minutes for food and that was after being ignored by the staff for nearly 20 minutes before even getting a drink order. We watched numerous tables of people leave because of the long wait. After 80 minutes we were told our order needed changed because they were only cooking certain items. We were offered a free salad. Swore we'd never return. Tried again tonight but was turned away at the door. "No walkins allowed tonight. Wedding party overwhelmed us and we can allow no walkins". We only wanted to enjoy the live music from the bar and have a drink. Told no. Should have been thanked, offered a coupon, or something. They advertised the live music in FB. The ambiance was very nice. My party of 10 had a 7:15 reservation, arrived at 7:00, and were seated promptly. Upon being seated we were given menus and drinks in a timely manner. Appetizers arrived, and were great. We tried the street corn dip and spinach dip. Both were delicious! The problem then begins here...we waited at least one hour for our food to arrive after eating appetizers. During this time we only received one refill on drinks, and most of the party waited over thirty minutes to get the refill. The food finally comes, and does not live up to the expectations we had from our experience with the appetizers. Five people in the party ordered the sirloin; three of which were overcooked and one was cold. Two of us had the fried chicken sandwiches and felt they were underwhelming. The rosemary chicken was good. We also had several orders of the mac and cheese, and everyone was agreeable that it was grossly under seasoned. We spoke to the owner, who was prompt to fix the mistakes and discount the items that were messed up. In all, we were mostly disappointed and will likely not return in the future. read more
