I visit here very often, however, I haven't bought croissant for a while. This special item's dough was not buttery and crispy texture as before. It was a bit too light and airy. And Banana bread filling was very thin slice.. Not sure their patisserie chef or recipe has changed I can't judge based on only 1 croissant, I must try other croissant item to compare.

Unfortunately, its quite hard to find marzipan in the lower mainland. So you can imagine that I was quite excited when I saw they had one on the menu. At first glance the chocolate drizzle on top looked too little, but it was just the right amount. The all butter croissant was perfectly flaky. I heated mine up in the toaster oven for a few mins. The amount of filling that was inside amazed me. However, it would have been more enjoyable if it was more spread out, instead of a "log" of filling. Also, after warming up the pastry, the bottom was extremely oily. So oily that it was literally dripping. The meringue on the Lemon Meringue Bar was a bit deflated and dry. The lemon flavor wasn't overly powerful. The Mango Bar, mango flavor was very mild. I would have liked to taste something a bit more prominent. Also, I didnt like thay they added so much sugar to the Graham Cracker crust. The Spumoni Bar tasted mostly of coconut, but the bar was super flavorful and tasty. The Cheesy Bar cheesecake texture was nice and light. The Fruity Bar was very tasty. Although I wouldn't say that it tasted like strawberry. I liked the crunchy texture from the white chocolate covered rice krispies. I liked the Matcha it could have used a touch more matcha, but I know not everyone likes a super strong matcha flavor. My top picks would be SpumoniBar, Matcha, and Fruity Bar. However, I feel that all of the bars could use more flavor. Additionally, I would like to note the fantastic customer service that I received. I had a dog with me and she has major separation anxiety. One of the staff members noticed us and was kind enough to offer to watch the dog while I quickly ordered inside. I would rate the croissants 4.5 stars, the bars 3.8 stars and the customer service 5 stars.

The service was quick and we snagged the last open table. The interior was eclectic and the outdoor style chairs that were used for inside seating were a bit uncomfortable but it all contributed to this intimate, non chain, independent cafe. The strawberry matcha latte was a standout! The real strawberry pieces mixed within were delightful. The maple latte was just average. Nothing at all exciting to report. The music is not too loud, which make a huge different when trying to focus on work and there is lots of seating - not to mention the seating here is very comfortable. I ordered the Turkey sandwich which took all of two minutes to disappear into my stomach! A big bonus is that drink sizes are generous and prices are very reasonable which is always appreciated. I have been this cafe for many times, and recently dropped by to get some baking goods. What I got - Hazelnut supreme croissant and cheesy bite(cheese pull apart). Hazelnut supreme's hazelnut cream was sweet, so good. Dough could have been a bit more crispy outside. Some parts of croissant was a bit soggy. Cheese bite(pull apart) was the best pull apart I have ever had. Size was large, decent price and cheese flavor was strong. Dough was crispy outside and inside was so soft and buttery. So delicious! Highly recommend this item! Overall, I always love this cafe. I will visit here to get new item next time.
