My friend and I went there for coffee. Their coffee and red velvet cupcake were so delicious!!! It was my first time going there. My friend went there years ago and she mentioned that some things have changed but she made a comment that she likes the new arrangement better. It is more roomy and expanding seatings. It is very cozy and love the decorations that are full of artists who create amazing paintings, photos, and crafts. We were able to find a parking spot as they have a parking lot. I would recommend anyone to go there for their delicious coffee. They also have teas. I would try them next time I come for a drink. read more

Café Sasso is a nice, quaint coffee bar/café that we popped into. Located the place here on Yelp of course, and also received recommendation from a local. The ambience/vibe/atmosphere was very calm and quiet. Even with the place being packed you could still hear your thoughts. They offer a variety of cold and hot beverages with cocktails included. I ordered Fiona's Apple which is served as a cold cocktail, but they made it hot for me. It was great- I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a drink that is warm, and also provides a buzz. Best cafe in Rochester. It's a small place broadcasting beautiful, quirky art and decor from local artists all over the interior. In the summer months outdoor seating is available too. Plan on parking on a side street and walking a short distance as it is on Park Ave. Also be mindful that during COVID they are only accepting card too. In addition to coffee, they sell breakfast, lunch, a variety of pastries and gluten, vegan free options, and cocktails too. I recommend the Presto Pesto panini which is made on local bread. Delicious! The chocolate croissants are good too. If you're looking for a place to get some work done, meet up with some friends to catch up or grab some great food- this is your place. read more

I'm a sucker for stopping into cute coffee shops, and during a recent visit to Rochester, this one stole the show! Lots of indoor and outdoor space to hang out or do work. TONS of art to buy on the walls which I absolutely adore. Not only did it provide beautiful decor, it offered the opportunity to see what local artists have to offer. Quite an extensive coffee menu. On the pricier side for coffee but definitely wouldn't break the bank. I got an iced cappuccino. It was on the stronger side but I'm definitely not complaining! Rich flavor and it was served in a mason jar which just adds to the cute-ness of my experience at Cafe Sasso. I come to Rochester from time to time, but I'll definitely make it a point to stop back here next time I'm out in the Flower City! read more

I love Cafe Sasso. It's smaller (space-wise), as most businesses on Park Ave are, but I think that adds to the cozy feel. It's within walking distance of the shop I take my car to for oil changes, so I love coming over here to relax while I wait. The environment is inviting and chill. I could take my laptop and sit there all day (although I wouldn't, since space is limited and I wouldn't want to overstay my welcome!). I really like their seating area. They have higher barstool seats near the front windows, plus a couch and chairs and separate tables, so there's something for everyone. There's also outdoor seating in the warmer months. My favorite drink is the Stone Roller, it's sweet but is a nice treat for when I want to indulge. They have a ton of different drinks to choose from and the prices are reasonable. Cafe Sasso is probably my favorite coffee shop in Rochester to just sit and relax at due to the quieter atmosphere (at least, during the times I've gone) and the cozy feel. read more

So this is probably my favorite coffee shop in Rochester or like top 2. Reasons why: the fun extended drink menu (lavender latte mmmm), the extensive food menu (with super delicious options and all reasonably priced), and ultimately the interior. It's very important to me to have comfortable seating if I want to pull out my laptop while sipping my beverage. And this place, thankfully, has chairs with backs in addition to stool seating around the perimeter of the place. There's fun artwork and the front windows bring in natural light, yet it's cozy and darker in the back so you can pick your light level. Also couches are available. So it's basically perfect. I love the artwork and their playlist yesterday (while the music might've been a little loud for people, I loved it). When I think of what I want out of a coffee shop, this is it. Love the atmosphere of this place. The best is you can have wine or tea/coffee, the best of two worlds. A friend and I needed a chill place to unwind after a hard day's work and we shared one of their too-die for paninis and it was probably the best panini we had ever had. I enjoyed my latte while she enjoyed a nice glass of wine. They also have amazing home baked goods to go with your drinks as well. Cafe Sasso is so very fabulous. My friends and I popped in on an early Saturday morning as out-of-towners. We were enthralled by the quirky, cool decor and the calm, delightful staff who took our orders. A delectable cortado and pesto-laden sandwich later, I was beyond a happy place entering a veritable paradise with a charming patio table underneath the sunshine. The interior of Sasso feels like a uber-hip New York-style cafe oozing fascinating artwork while the exterior feels slightly Parisian in nature - compact but chic seating gathered behind a twine-roped-off porch section. Great place to study! They have study cocktails as well if you need a break in a happy hour from 5-7 on weekdays. The food is good and the drinks will get you ready to study. My only qualm is the WiFi drops off often. Still, I would definitely recommend this spot to study! read more

I was recently looking for a chill place to meet up with a fellow yelper to just sit and chat. My friend suggested Cafe Sasso because compared to some other near-by locations, there's more space or seating. I hadn't been in this space since back in the day when it was Spot. At least I think that's what it was. I feel old now and can't remember. Will someone please confirm or deny that there was once a Spot coffee located here. Maybe early 2000s? In any case, Cafe Sasso hit the "spot"! It was busy, which is always a good sign, and yet there were still spots available to sit and spread out a bit. I grabbed two stool on the side bar which worked well for me and my friend to chat. I liked the height and comfort of the stools, the only thing I might ask for would be hooks to hang your bag on when the place gets busy and you can't hog the other chairs. As it ended up, I ordered just a plain coffee and a breakfast bagel sandwich. Egg and cheddar on a plain bagel. I also was able to get a San Pellegrino Blood Orange soda. I've been loving those things a little too much lately. I wanted something cool and fresh with my bagel. Which was pretty tasty even in its simplicity. I think the location is great if you're worried about meeting up with friends and parking. You can usually get a parking spot on one of the side streets closer to Culver and I had no problem finding a decent spot within a short walk. I miss the life and vibrancy of the Park Ave. neighborhood, so it was nice to get down there again. I wish I lived closer, because I would definitely make this part of my regular coffee rotation. read more

The baristas are all extremely friendly, however I've had mixed experiences with the drinks in the few times I've been there. I've ordered the same drink multiple times and one time it was bitter and dark and the next it was overly sweet to the point where I gave up drinking it. Cafe Sasso is quickly becoming one of my fave spots to get work done, unwind, or people watch (this location has an abundance of hot dads on bikes, worth every penny spent #yourewelcome). The baristas are friendly and the wifi is fast. I always order the iced coffee and today also went for the "Rocket Man" sandwich - egg, cheese, bacon, ketchup. I thought the sandwich was delish, I am just not a huge fan of a crisp bagel on my bfast sandwiches which is the case here. The avocado toast also looks good and I will have to try that real soon. Ambiance is European and cozy, and I love that I can come here at any point in the day and get what I am craving. Whether it is wine time or coffee time (there is literally no other time of day), I know I can count on Sasso to hook me up. I have yet to try a cocktail but would likely come during happy hour to score a deal. This is one of those great fallback spots that I love for meetings, but sometimes forget about in the regular day-to-day rotation. I love them for the option to do meetings over wine (I usually go for their pinot grigio). They rock the 2nd wave coffee shop vibe - lots of art on the walls, mismatched furniture, spots to lounge and work, connect to wifi, chat with friends, etc. It's a comfortable, casual vibe. Their food is great too! Their bagel sandwiches are packed with all the fixings - classic egg+cheese is good, but I also love the Zesty Zappa (can't resist avocado and basil pesto) and the Sweet Caroline (comes with sausage). I adore their paninis too - the bread is amazing! There needs to be more ciabatta rolls for sammies, so friggin' good. It's hard to pick a favorite, but I'm partial to the Green Dream (love avocado, mozz and sundried tomato combo). Their lattes get a lot of love too! I usually opt for an herbal tea or an iced coffee. Resisting their pastries is a challenge too... sometimes I'll cave and get one of the huge peanut butter cookies. Gluten free and vegan options available too! It gives the shop a warm, cozy, and funky vibe. The drinks have always been great for me as well. Yesterday I came for happy hour (5-7) which consisted of $5 coffee cocktails (iced and hot). I've always walked by this cafe and finally stopped in and I'm glad I did. I ordered the iced macho caramel. I love sweet drinks and this was perfect, vanilla mixed with the espresso and caramel. Cafe sasso may be the most overrated cafe in all of Rochester. It doesn't have particularly good drinks, coffee, food, or desserts. Most of its appeal is the atmosphere, it's a place where young adults can come to have coffee and drinks and food. However, Cafe Sasso has decided for some reason to continue not allowing customers to sit inside well into September- even with masks and the ability to socially distance tables. This is not advertised by them and nothing outside the cafe indicates this. Let's talk about the food. I had a sandwich here, one of the few times I get to eat in the city and: mediocre. I had their version of a Cuban, except the sandwich was mostly bread!! Two slices of meat and one slice of cheese, and a giant puffy inadequately toasted roll. I felt sick afterward from eating that much bread. If you are on park ave and want food- many better options. Sandwiches? Marty's. A place to sit down? Glen Edith. And if you tell me that glen Edith is always full so you go to cafe sasso, I get it. But when your business is only popular because it often has space to sit at, don't be upset when it has nothing to offer when that space is closed! read more

The COOLEST little coffee stop right on the corner! It was my first time in Rochester, and this place was recommended by a local. They are taking all necessary precautions and following social distancing guidelines with everyone wearing masks and waiting outside for their orders. The interior is super cool with all the eclectic wall decor and antique furniture covering the space. The outside is quite the opposite with cute little tables and lots of plants. This place really has something for everyone. We tried a signature drink, "Gatsby" that has white chocolate, espresso, lavender, and steamed milk. Great flavors, super rich taste. I got the Gatsby to go because we were on the run. I liked the flavor: a low-profile of sweetness from the white chocolate, the green-fruitiness notes from the lavender. It did not give you a heavy mouth feel and was smooth. There were a lot of people seated and the heat was blasting (very warm). I had an ok time at Cafe Sasso. The location itself was super easy to find and the the store was clean and the decor was aesthetically pleasing to look at. Due to COVID all of the dining tables are outside which is fine for the time but as it gets colder I'm interested to see how they will adapt. As for my drink I had mixed reviews. I ordered a large hot chocolate and when I got it the cup was large but the contents were not, I would say my cup was only 2/3rds full and the rest was whip cream. So a kinda a bummer. I asked if it was correct and it was so I wasn't super thrilled about that. I also went with my friend who is lactose intolerant and she ordered almond milk but her order was made with regular milk and had to get remade( luckily she caught it before). So if you have dietary issue just be aware. So overall for what I ordered an what I paid I wasn't amazed but it was pleasant enough that I would consider coming back to give it another shot. read more

This is the best cafe in the area! The place is really cozy and artsy and there is an outside seating area. They have really good black iced tea and iced coffee. As a coffee lover, I really recommend this place. Many options to choose, including hot/cold with alcohol (they even have a happy hour!). They have some good food if you'd like to have with your coffee, while you sit to appreciate great art in the walls and chill by yourself or with a friend. They also have tables if you like to work on something or just feel inspired to do some drawing. Very cozy, and the prices are reasonable. Attendants were very nice and polite.
