I ordered the iced tea - it was as expected. I've been before and I knew I didn't like the tiramisu latte (it's too heavy for me with the Marscapone topping), but my friend really enjoyed hers! I love the little shopping area they have in the front of the store. They have such cute duck umbrellas! I have a gluten intolerance, and there weren't that many things on the menu I could have so I decided to ask if the burrito could be made as a bowl. The woman taking my order was awesome. She went to the kitchen to ask for me, and they said yes. I'm so glad I asked, it was soooo good. The lime crema sauce was refreshing. The beans were tasty. Very nice looking cafe and decent seating. Parking is limited and seems to be street parking around the corner is the best bet. We ordered iced coffees but got hot. We're not that picky so we chose to drink them as is Instead of bother staff but I'm sure they would have helped fix it if asked. The lattes were very pretty and tasty. The mocha has a soft chocolate flavor which I prefer. Cookie my son got was great as well. They have a little shop area which I also enjoyed browsing. Bathroom is really nice BUT no changing station unless they want to count the wooden decorative table. Great spot to study with lots of seating. Big windows and lots of light upstairs with plenty of outlets. They play pretty good music too. My main complaint is the price point for food quality. I had a small tiramisu latte which, don't get me wrong, was delicious, but was $10 for not much coffee. What really bothered me was that the breakfast sando was $11 before tax and was mediocre at best. I expected a dish from a Swan family restaurant to be gourmet level, but this sandwich was merely ok. Nothing special and definitely not worth $11. Didn't even come with any sides. The pictured meal cost me $23 before tip. read more

I haven't tried the food yet, just the coffee drinks but they've been great. I keep coming back for the Iced Tiramisu Latte, which was a lovely surprise. If you get the chance, definitely give it a try. Since this place is part of the Swan Family of Restaurants, you can sometimes find their Lost Meatball Sauce and the same pasta they use at Vern's. They also sell cookbooks, various pantry items, grab and go drinks, and more. If you're into fresh sourdough, you can even order a loaf for Saturday pickup through their website. I can't speak for the food, but the place is always busy whenever I stop in. For parking, you've got a small lot across the street or street parking on Park Avenue. read more

We tried Pearson's for lunch today -- part of the Swan Family of restaurants (Leonore's, Lento, Dorado, Roux). Somehow we had missed this one. Of course, it was also fantastic! It was a bustling coffee and sandwich shop off of Park Ave. with a very cool vibe. The place was packed. Our to-go order was outstanding. We split an "Denny's Caesar Salad", which was a super interesting mix with the best breadcrumbs we've ever tasted. We also sampled the Chopped Italian which was on lively bread and a nice "antipasto"-style mix. So tasty. We also tried the Hot Fried Tofu Sandwich was among the best tofu preps we've ever tasted. We also washed it down with a lovely Maple Chai. What a great place. Parking was a little tight, but otherwise great. We will be back for more! read more

Omgoodness. Wow. The cinnamon bun was absolutely delicious, the breakfast burrito was the absolute best we've ever had, and the bagel, lox, pickled onions, and cream cheese was soooo good. Been here three times over the past year. Sadly, each experience has declined in quality. First time was coffee and a breakfast sandwich, which was delicious. Second time was coffee and a baked good out by the fire pit towards the end of the evening. Food was good, but I was surprised when a server came out and told us he was shutting down the fire pit (even though they were still open) because it was too expensive for them to keep it running. Third time, coffee was good, but I got the Pearson's breakfast plate, and it truly was one of the worst plates of food I've ever eaten. The fried eggs were slimey with grease, the sausage, which is normally quite delicious was drowning in that grease, and even the hash brown triangles were floating in that same pool of grease and then topped with a greasy garlic aïoli mayonnaise . So those were soggy and greasy, too. And some guy was watching over the dining room like a hawk and grabbing plates before you even finish the last bite. He literally grabbed a plate of bacon out of my friend's hands without first asking if he was finished. It was funny, sort of, but afterwards, I thought it was weird to be watched like that. I wish he would've grabbed my disgusting breakfast plate and brought me one of their waffles instead. lol I will give these guys another chance because I do like the Swan family of restaurants so maybe it was just an off warning for them. But for their prices and reputation, I don't think they should be serving food that feels like a five dollar diner special. read more

Came in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised! I was not able to visit the old Glen Edith location but the coffee here was excellent. I went with a plain latte and the espresso was smooth! What shocked me was the water bagels, truly the only bagel i've had in Rochester that came close to the bagels I get at home in NJ/NY. My friend loved her chicken salad sandwich. I also loved the setup of this place: the downstairs is full of people chatting while the upstairs is a more quiet area for people doing work. Very cozy with plenty of seating AND OUTLETS! Overall, another great addition to the Swan group. Javas on Gibbs will always be my number one spot, but Pearsons is sitting at second place. Have always wanted to check this place out. I went with a friend in the early morning after a walk. The one thing is they open by 7am but their kitchen doesn't open until 8am which is a bummer. The atmosphere is great and I love their small patio you can sit out on. I personally think their coffee was better than their food. read more

Cute locally owned cafe off of Park Ave. There's a small lot in front, but otherwise you'll have to rely on street parking. There's plenty of drink options, I had the chai tea which was perfect for a cold winter day. The menu also has a variety of pastries, breakfast and lunch options. Today was my first time coming to Pearson's and I have to say, it was amazing. I was able to get a gluten free breakfast (the pearson's plate) and a latte that was worthy of writing home about. It is a shame I didn't know about this cafe before moving to Boston because I would've been here all the time. The tiramisu latte has to be one of my favorite lattes that I've ever had in my life. And the breakfast plate? Amazing. I loved the garlic aioli on top of the potatoes and the fried eggs. It's a true tragedy that chai guy doesn't have the iced eggnog chai year round, because that's the best iced latte in the world. No one can convince me otherwise. This time, I got the chocolate almond chai which was pretty good! I was also very pleased to see that they have a load of gluten free and vegan treats, so I was also able to pick up a pastry before I went on my way for the day. The staff is always so nice here and they have amazing Rochester recommendations. Also in this area are a lot of Rochester staples such as cafe sasso, pearson's, stever's, red fern, and Parkleigh. Was excited to try a new coffee shop, was left disappointed. While ordering I asked the girl behind the counter if she had any recommendations for pastries, and she said "Omggg they're ALL so good"... I proceeded to order the almond danish and could hardly chew through it because it was so stale. I ordered the tiramisu latte and when I went to the counter to get it, I asked if they had a lid, the guy behind the counter looked at me with a blank and condescending expression and with no words pointed at the clear lids in a patterned dish at the edge of the counter. Clear things arent very visibly distinct when the dish they sit in is patterned and dark. My bad I guess. Coffee was mid, the tiramisu topping is straight up mascarpone that just floats at the top, it isn't even drinkable you need a spoon for that shii. Service was sub par and I don't like being treated like an idiot or being sold stale pastries. Also, self service lids are stupid, and the turtles are saved so give me a damn straw. Im a reasonable person and never write reviews so do whatever you'd like with that information. read more

I stopped by to work from Pearson's during a recent visit back to Rochester. I was excited to see the upgraded transformation from Glen Edith, and happy the Swan team swooped in to keep the good vibes going. Caveat that I only ordered a black coffee and did not try any of the lovely pastries or food items. Great: + My drip coffee was truly excellent and it's so nice to see Rochester keeping it's crown as coffee roasting mecca even as new places open up. It's one of the key things I miss when in Philly. + I love the menu. They stayed true but improved upon Glen Edith's flavor forward lattes and the food menu is fantastic. Breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, and some Swan sister restaurant nods. + Lighting fast wifi and ample outlets is so appreciated. Less great: + This is so small and I know will seem silly to most, but paying $5 with tip to "pump my own coffee" like I am at a Wawa just seems so out of place in a cafe like this. I was very surprised when the barista handed me an empty cup and pointed. + I know this also is going to seem silly, but selling big brand, "aesthetic", gimmicky, influencer-friendly olive oil and sauces when F. Olivers and other local options are mere feet away just rubs me the wrong way. I would love to see more local products on the shelves for the pantry items/gifts. That being said...I don't know how many people are actually buying said items when they walk in here anyways. There were also just a lot of screaming children and screaming moms during my visit, which I of course do not fault the business for. Just a small warning if you're coming to work. Just ate at sister restaurant Vern's last night (Italian) - inspired us to get coffee and breakfast sandwich at Vern's, on recommendation of Vern's hostess. Best breakfast sandwich of my life. Sausage was spicy and full of herbs, light brioche bun, still soft (but not runny egg). Tasteful yellow cheddar. Drip coffee was exactly right. Cardamom pastry was u like anything I've had. The one thing I didn't like was the peach smoothie - tasted only of old bananas, not of any good fruit. Perfect smoothie consistency but really disappointing flavor. Still, this place blew me away. Great vibe and clearly a community meeting place. Loved it. read more

first time here after a visit back home. it was very busy! the employee up front was very short with us and anything but welcoming. however, i was hoping the food and coffee would make up for it. when my coffee was ready, the barista who made it it was very kind. the food was incredible. we got their breakfast burritos and the avocado sauce was to die for. jesse has phenomenal customer service as well. in terms of the shop itself, they had a nice seating area in the main floor, and some other seating upstairs. they also had water available which was great. shop was very clean as well. i did want to bring home some coffee beans. but i wish the bags they had were more recently roasted, as its good to consume beans within a month of the being roasted. i think one of the bags was within a month, but only with an few days to spare. overall, it was a great first visit and i look forward to returning! read more

Super cute place. Came here to catch up with a friend and I just loved how cute the whole place is, esp the decorations. I ordered a pretzel and it came toasted with a side of cheese dip. It was quite delicious and everything I wanted in a pretzel. Service was quick and efficient. We sat upstairs and there's ample space so if you want to do work or read a book, you can easily do that here. I ordered a cinnamon roll to go and my husband loved it! read more

Since the change from Glen Edith, Pearson's has not dropped off in quality at all! They've added some things Glen Edith didn't have in fact. They still use Glen Edith coffee and it's as fresh as ever! Their baked goods are a mix of Amazing Grains and homemade. Their cooked foods look amazing! What a great spot to grab a coffee and bite to eat. All the bread and other treats are baked right in their kitchen and you can taste the difference. They have the best cold brew but they can be argumentative for all the wrong reasons. One day I observed that there coffee tasted really musty and gross like maybe a mouse crawled into the machine and died. It took them a couple days to clean the machine out and fix the problem. I still don't know exactly what the problem is because they didn't tell me. They will also argue politics with me if they're having a bad day. 19/20 times they don't cause any problems but when they do, they will blame it on the customer. read more
