One of my local favorites thanks to their Colombian empanadas (deeeep friiiiied meeaaat pocketssss), delicious platters, and excellent espresso drinks. Their fried chicken plate is delectable, and apparently their soups are crazy delicious (I always see people eating it, even at the height of summer). They also have a selection of baked goods which i think are ok, not my favorite. It came with some basmati rice that had an awesome flavor, yucca fries and a salad. It also had a spicy green salsa on the side which had a great flavor. I'll definitely be eating there again! To start, I sent my 14 year old daughter for a pick up and she said that the cashier was rude. I brushed it off thinking because of her age. But still not acceptable. Fast forward to today, I attempted to call in a take out order. When they answered the phone, I was promptly told they don't speak English and then hung up. Cool laid-back place for a variety of snacks, beverage, meal, or dessert. Bean and cheese pupusa with cabbage side was so tasty for $2 and the perfect snack size. Just ask for the cabbage in a bowl so it doesn't make your pupusa soggy. The wait for one pupusa was 20 minutes with just one guy who ordered an enchilada ahead of me. This is not a fast food joint but the slow paced vibe seems like part of the charm. This place is very inviting due to the large clean space with plenty of tables and an owner who is so friendly! Almost every one of these reviews mentions the silpancho so I had to try it. It has all of the components that I seek in a great "brunch" dish: thin breaded steak, 2 eggs, lightly fried rice, chopped tomatoes and onions, and crispy potatoes...but it wasn't as awesome as I thought it would be. The steak was a little too thin to maintain any flavor and I could tell that my 2 eggs were cooked in the microwave...to an over over-hard consistency. I got one of those pastries filled with chicken that was sitting in that heating tray on the counter. It had pretty good flavor and the pastry was oh so flaky good. The green sauce she gave me went really well with this. Oh the pupusas! We got revueltas (pork, beans, and cheese) and just plain cheese. Both were delicious. Eat these hot (too!) when they are toasty on the outside and melty on the inside! They came with all of the fixings--the cabbage slaw and tomatoey salsa! It was kind of a bummer that it took about 25 minutes for my order to come out even though there was only one other family that came in before me. Great place to just relax and munch. There are pastries, drinks and a small lounge area for a quick break. They also have a dinning area for people who want actual meals. We enjoyed the meals but had a minor language barrier. The staff tries and the owner also helps out so there's no problem with actually getting what you want across. The pupusa and chicken enchilada were fantastic. If you're hungry, with a group, have time to spare and need a pupusa, go ahead and stop by. I hesitate to review this place because I want it to remain a neighborhood secret! We go here at least once a month and sometimes several weekends in a row when the weather is nice. The atmosphere is causal, the staff friendly, and the food amazing. Seriously, everything is delicious - the chicken empanadas, the soups (chicken and beef), the tilapia, the lemon chicken salad. I have not gone wrong here yet. We always get the freshly made fruit and vegetable juice blend, which they make in their juicer on the spot. It actually inspired us to get our own juicer to try to recreate this concoction at home. They often have community events and local musical acts. We haven't checked those out yet because we just go for a chill weekend lunch atmosphere, but that's next on the list. So far so good! Finally found a Latin Restaurant that I really like. Order breakfast (all day breakfast serve) and it was delicious. Coffee done at the moment, was good. The waiter is friendly and the place very cosy. Simple and very clean (I like tidy). The wait for the food is reasonable; it's worth it. Overall GOOD! The spices in the food fantastic. Clean, big, and good service, but their food was a bit lacking. I visited mid-afternoon to pick up some late lunch. I ordered the Silpancho (as it had so many rave reviews here) and, for over 10 dollars, I was definitely full afterwards (huge portions), but the overall quality left something to be desired. The meat was tough and dry and the rice was hard (dare I say..crunchy?). The plantains and potatoes (crisp and delicious) were the only saving points of the Silpancho, but perhaps I visited on a bad day. The plus side is that they have tons of variety and a bakery case full of treats that I wanted to try. Cafe Sazon let me down this time, but I'll have to come again some other day. read more

First time I came into this place and it was due to a funny (kinda) cause, on a snowy day (today) after I went to the next door goodwill that I was shopping at and the mobile shop due to my child needing to pee and their denying him that (I left detailed reviews for both incidents) I walked into this place desperately as my child was close to not holding it anymore and I told the lady that I knew they had a "no public bathroom"sign but it was for my child, with no hesitation she said yes of course and showed me where the bathroom was, after my child used the bathroom I went out to say thank you to her and told her what her business neighbors did she said she cannot understand how they think, we'll neither do it, and I saw heart warming signs on their walls for anti racism, while those incidents against me were not particularly racist just utterly stupid and mean but I appreciated this business taking the time to post those signs like others take time to post hostile and heartless sh*t everywhere, oh and I bought some desserts from there were so good! But even if they weren't I'd come back and recommend this place to everyone because they are really nice people. read more

I Have passed by many tunes since they opened and have wondered about the place. Walk in an Spanish rock is playing. It's very clean and nicely designed. They have delicious looking pastries and food items. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and waited about 15 - 20 mins. They felt bad so they gave me some free bread and offered me my money back which was very kind of them! That is quality service! They apologized because somehow they lost the ticket order. Finally, I got my quesadilla. Took the $5.99 quesadilla with me to work. I arrived to work and took a look at my fragrant meal. I took a bite and was satisfied with my wait. It didn't wow me but it was good. It had a BUNCH of chicken in it so if you LOVE chicekn then you'll LOVE this chicken chicken quesadilla. The guacamole seemed homemade which is refreshing I have never been a huge fan of guacamole (I know it's a crime!) but I found myself continually dipping my food in it! secondly, the free bakery item. No idea what is was because when she told me what it was, I couldn't hear her. I tore a piece of and discovered there was food inside it. It looked like a mini stew! It tasted amazing. NO WONDER ITS A BAKERY! I have no idea what was in it and I'm afraid to find out. It's probably not healthy but hmmmm. This shall be my new snack bakery. My only word of advice: Since it was take out, I would suggest for them to add napkins in the bag and maybe a fork. After the third time coming here I think I'll be skipping it and finding another place. It's a relatively bland and blank atmosphere with not a whole lot going on. The food is pretty decent, service is good but the menu is rather limited. I noticed many reviewers giving this place more than three stars. And then I noticed almost none of them are Latino. So I cannot go based on any of their reviews because clearly they don't know really good Salvadoran food. And a good portion of what they have on the menu, isn't even Salvadoran at all. To be honest, I haven't a clue what it's supposed to be. In any case, it's still a decent enough place. But it's certainly not worth actually sitting down at a table. Take it to go. I used to live nearby and I miss coming here more often. It's not usually very crowded and in a kinda dicey south Arlington strip mall with a goodwill and a check cashing place, but don't let that throw you! The food is so dope, despite the not-so-expansive menu. Our brunch go-to was juevos rancheros, a few cheese papusas and margaritas (they have a full beer/wine list and don't judge Margs with brunch!) By far the thing I miss the most is the super friendly owner. She made it a point to come say hi every time we were in and whenever we stop back, she greets us by name with a big smile. read more

I was so excited to discover this place, which is very close to our new home. We went here last weekend for a very satisfying breakfast. The coffee is pretty good and very well priced, and I tried two of the pastries, both of which were delicious. My boyfriend had the scrambled egg and steak sandwich, which came with that awesome green salsa that is so good I want to bathe in it. It was pretty quiet, even on a Saturday morning, and they have free WiFi. I think this would be a great place to spend a couple of hours. I look forward to trying more of their menu! read more

We were kind of disappointed to learn it is another Salvedorean/Bolivian joint that sells soups, saltenas, sandwiches, etc. It was early morning so we were like well let's eat. Me and my mom ordered Saltenas which are always a delicious treat. My dad got an omelette. The area is a little difficult to get to if you are going westbound on CPike as it is on the left and parking is small. The facility is brand new but clean with contemporary furniture and lines. It is family owned and they were very nice people. Calling to all artists, Donate some nice colorful artwork as this place needs a pop of artwork on their walls. They have traditional pastires whcich we did not partake of. My Saltena was good but I have had better down the street at Pan American Bakery. My dad omelette was a cute little omelette nothing really to write home about yet I still want to talk about it here on Yelp! This place may fare well as it is close to a major bus route on CPike and I am sure workers and commuters alike will partake of the food and coffee. I wish them good luck as many restaurants are unlikely to flourish in that location and with the market so saturated they will have to have a product that will be different from everone else on CPike. read more

A great random find close to work. It's been open for a year now and they only do a small amount of dishes. This is my first foray into Honduran food and I can say I'm pleasantly happy with this place. It's located off Columbia and it doesn't look much from the outside but it's very clean and nice inside. The service is quick, take out is fast, and they were very helpful with any questions we had. I had the silmancho which was almost like a country fried steak but thinner and crisper with potatoes, two fried eggs, rice, and salsa on the side. For the price, this meal was huge. Absolutely worth every penny and delicious to boot. This little cafe offers bakery goods and soup specials also. They may not have a lot of food on the menu but what they offer they do very well.
