Run, don't walk, to The Caribbean Grill! I just discovered this gem yesterday and enjoyed it so much, I had to order it again for lunch today--and it did not disappoint. The food is fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, the yellow rice is light and fluffy, the beans are rich and well-spiced, and the plantains are just the right level of ripeness. Pure comfort and flavor in every bite.

Chicken was very well seasoned and tasted good! Loved the sauces that came alongside it.

I'm giving this review based on what it is, a very casual restaurant. You order at the counter then they bring you the food when it's ready, no frills. I had the masas de puercos ( fried pork) with black beans, white rice and an order of plantains. The only two complaints that I had were, the white rice was way over cooked and two of the pork chunks (yes I know pork can be fatty) were solid fat and inedible they should not serve that in this manner. They could have used those pieces and made chicharonnes out of it. Decent Cuban food for the area and the value was good, the cost was $22.

There are several other posts about how great the Cuban Sandwich is, and believe me, it was excellent, but the star of my meal was the fried yuca. If you're a yuca fan, this is the best yuca I've ever had. Despite it coming straight from the fryer, there was zero residual grease or oil on these things. They didn't even need salt which blew my mind. Of course, using the green/yellow dipping sauce made them even better, but I ate most of them on my way home without dressing them up with anything. I had issues with calling ahead and ordering, but the food made up for that and I will 100% be back to try more.

Glad to have this place as another Latino option in the scarcity of cultural food in Northern Virginia. We were promptly greeted at the counter, where you order your food and pay. Moments later our food was brought to us by one of the friendly chefs that resembled all of our mothers. Food was good, the two sauces helped give it a spicy kick, if you need that, like I did. Will need to come back to try the jerk chicken.

The staff was great however the food itself wasn't all that good. Jerk chicken was different then expected just a hint of jerk, white rice was extremely sticky, fried plantains had no flavor. Only thing that was good was the drink. Very nice people here though l.

The crispy kale was fantastic and the mango chutney balances a hint of spice. I got the omnivore paratha tiffin box with tomato Choka and I got roti instead of paratha. Fantastic decision! Great moments! That roti was spectacular! My friend also loved her oxtail. The Charon Beni was my favorite sauce and I enjoyed the heat of the house pepper sauce. The pickled peppers and onions on top were the perfect addition. Coconut rice paired perfectly as well. Crispy kale: 5/5 great flavor with a little chutney on top. Slight spice but not too much. Large portion as a side, definitely shareable. Friend enjoyed the curried chicken bowl though I did not try it! Bread pudding: 2/5. Not the worst I've ever had. But lacked flavor. Dense. Would not order again. Passion fruit spicy margarita was good. I requested light passion fruit. Just enough spice. Service was friendly! Small restaurant so would make reservations, even though it was not packed for my Friday evening dinner. There is a 20% fair wage fee included on all bills. Which states it is "not" the tip. That's pretty significant

The staff are always friendly and make good conversation, and the drinks are always a good strength. Most recently, I tried one of the flavored margaritas and left very pleased! When I come here, I typically get the curry goat, which comes with rice, chickpeas, and potatoes. The most recent time I visited, the potatos were going to take a little longer to cook, so they offered me a choice between cabbage or greens instead. I went with the collard greens, and they were really good! They seemed to be cooked with a lot of butter, which was new for me when it comes to collard greens, but I still loved them overall. Bammy's is located in Navy Yard, so parking isn't always the easiest. But if you're able to snag a spot or you're already walking around the area, I definitely recommend stopping by!

The service felt inattentive, and it seemed like our table was forgotten for much of the evening. We spent far too much time waiting--for drinks, for our food, and even to get someone's attention. When the food finally arrived, it didn't live up to the hype. The flavors were underwhelming, and the portions didn't justify the price. What was most disappointing was that no one seemed interested in making the experience better. A sincere apology or even an effort to address the issues would have gone a long way, but instead, we left feeling like our concerns didn't matter. There are too many great dining options in Navy Yard to spend your time and money on an experience like this. Sadly, I won't be returning.

To start, the space is beautiful and the service was impeccable. Our server was so attentive and the rest of the serving staff were just as attentive. The food was beautifully prepared, but I can't say that we enjoyed every dish. Our favorite items were the pork belly, the rum cake, and the tuna guisado. Each of those items were delectable. The branzino, the shrimp, and oysters were a bit underwhelming in terms of flavor. I was especially underwhelmed by the patty appetizer. The food is very clearly high quality and it is clear Chef Kwame constructed an amazing menu! We've also heard lovely things about his sister restaurant in NY, Tatianna. I think because of the price, we had higher expectations, but I can't say that they were met completely .
