This cafe is a step above the rest. The inside is cozy, with a cabin-esque vibe and clear ceilings in their dining room for an indoor-outdoor feel. Despite the line of 20+ people, Shirley Delicious worked like a well oiled machine. Their menu included breakfast, lunch, and even a flight of soup (which I so desperately wanted). I ordered their date pastry, a hot caramel latte, and breakfast sandwich with avo. Each item was absolutely delicious. This is also a great location to shop for island goodies. We chose their cranberry scones, and tried their specialty treat (I forget its exact name now) made with dates, nuts and chocolate, covered in sesame seeds. The scones were warmed up for us, they tasted fluffy and nice. Those mysterious treats were a sensation! Their layered, sophisticated flavor was a pleasant surprise. On the walls were displayed (for sale) photo artworks of a local artist. Since the shop was closing down for the day, and we were the only customers left, the young barista had a nice chat with us, during which she taught me the nicknames for Canadian dollar coins: one dollar is called "looney" and 2-dollar "tuny". I was very happy to leave the tuny with her :-)
