Chicken Caesar wrap w/ hash browns & bacon

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. I love this place so much. When I lived in Victoria, I would come here all the time, but since I've moved to Vancouver, I've only been here once in the last 5-6 months. Buuuut, I finally got to come back here this past weekend and it was like coming home. It had the same comfort-style breakfast foods and the quality was exactly the same, maybe even better (although I could have been biased since I missed this place so much). I usually stick to my usual traditional breakfasts (sausage, egg, bacon, check!), however, whenever I came to Urban Cup, I was trying something different. Whether it's their breakfast or lunch menu, you can't really go wrong. They have a soup + sandwich special that changes daily, and every time it's looked delicious! It's hard to pinpoint what my favourite dish is here. It might be a tie between their hashbrowns (home-style pan fried) or clam chowder. But like I said before, everything on this menu is delicious. What's really nice about UC is that you order and pay right when you walk in, seat yourselves, and the food gets brought out to you. So when you're finished you can take your time and leave whenever, without trying to get your server's attention to pay your bill. It's a bit of a hidden gem really, overshined by the more popular brunch spots like Jam and Blue Fox, but if you're looking to avoid the long lines, pay for a (cheap) amazing breakfast, and don't want to go downtown, then come here. You won't regret it.

While in town I ate breakfast here for four consecutive days. Most days I got the same thing: an omelet without the sides of hash browns and toast and a medium roast coffee. Included with each omelet comes is three fillings (meat and veggies, you pick) and one type of cheese. My omelet was great every single day (I make them at home for breakfast every day, so I'm picky). The ingredients were fresh and high quality. I'm a big coffee snob, so the fact I didn't hate the coffee is a good thing. Its good diner coffee. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

About half of the restaurant. Small space with tables close together.

Busy brunch space with counter service. Good food with eggs being the main ingredient. Had an omelette special which was tasty although seemed like processed cheese. (Turns out it's not) We didn't have you wait as there is a fast turnover. Friendly staff and coffee refills. Still have his and hers bathrooms which isn't necessary is a small place. Why not have unisex?

Overall picture of what we ordered. Chicken & Brie Cheese Panini on the left, Smoked Salmon Benny in the middle and Chowder on the right.

Always a local favourite. Food never disappoints and often surprises. The breakfasts are big enough to share. So very affordable for 2.

Amazing food. My favourite is the bowl of chicken corn chowder with a scone, the eggs Benedict, or the monte cristo sandwich. Yum!

We waiting 40 minutes for our food. Were they short staffed or something? Also the Ac should be set at 70 or 21 not 18. It was unpleasant.

It was maybe 5-10 mins before the two of us got seated. I usually don't love breakfast spots but this one was impressive. We ordered the migas & amigos, double stack griddle cakes, and caramel macadamia nut latte. We went hungry and still had leftovers because the portions are generous! The potatoes were some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had, great fresh jam, and everything was cooked really well and flavorful. I'm actually considering coming back tomorrow!

A solid spot with its own distinct vibe and an impressively long menu…read more Great for groups since there's something for everyone, and the portions are generous. Almost too much for one person. One thing that stood out: unlike most diners that only offer one brewed coffee option, this place lets you choose between regular and dark roast. Small detail, but appreciated. I went on a weekday morning, so there was no wait, but the space isn't very large, so I'd recommend making a reservation during peak hours. Staff were friendly overall, and the atmosphere is worth experiencing. That said, while the food was consistently solid, it wasn't particularly memorable. I ordered the Valentino, smoked salmon and poached egg on an English muffin with avocado, but the avocado was completely unripe, which brought down both the texture and the flavor. With a menu this wide, most dishes land in the "good" rather than "great" range, and execution details like that make a difference. If you're going for variety and the overall experience, you'll be satisfied, but if you're hoping for something exceptional, it may feel a bit underwhelming. Bottom line: a reliable brunch option for groups, as long as you're not setting the bar too high on the food itself.

We were passing by and decided to take a break before getting back on our bikes. Little June is a charming coffee shop serving breakfast, brunch, and pastries/baked goods. Fernwood coffee is also available here. We ordered an iced latte and an iced London fog. My particular favourite was the iced latte. I believe they utilize Earl Grey powder for their London fog, and I was pleasantly pleased by how wonderful it tasted. It was unusual because I was not used to the powder but rather the tea bags. The host at the cashier was really kind and provided wonderful service. They have tons of seatings. I loved how open and airy the space was! I'll have to try their brunch the next time I visit. It was delicious and beautiful. A lot of love and effort is put into this. Sylvia's scones are phenomenal. If she opened up a bakery I would buy all her scones and loaves. The bathroom is a nice size with a big tub. So why the three stars? There is a radiator in the room but ours didn't work well and would heat up and did not stay hot. We were cold. If you are on the first floor please note that sound travels. you can really hear any movement above you and you can hear conversations very well outside your room which didn't make me feel particularly comfortable since I'm sure even just is talking normally can be heard by others as well. Didn't feel amazing from a privacy perspective. When you book it says there is daily housekeeping. There's no daily housekeeping. We were asked if anything was missing from our room by the breakfast server but nothing else. If you're expecting your trash to be emptied or bed to be made that did not happen our whole stay. Location: not really walkable to the downtown area or most things in Victoria. A couple other small things that I wouldn't even mention if the above two were no issue: The bed was okay although not super comfortable in my opinion. The outlets are really inconvenient and there aren't many. They mention there is tea, hot chocolate, and coffee. There's no hot chocolate and no creamer in your room if you want some later. I do think this place could be good for others but it was not the right fit for us. For a bed and breakfast the room just wasn't super comfortable for us to want to spend time there.
