Yemex is a Yemeni and Mexican bakery and coffee house that opened up not too long ago. I'm so glad they have halal options! -The maple beef chorizo was good! Great sweet and savory option -Dulce de leche: a little bit on the sweeter side but still a creamy and delicious latte! Service was quick and staff were friendly. There is plenty of parking and the inside of the cafe is beautiful! Very nice decor and plenty of seating options. They have throw blankets on some of the chairs if you get cold. Noise level was low also so if you need to get some work done this is a great spot.

Beef and potato croissant - 9.5/10 - So crispy and delicious paired with the hot sauce, but could use a bit more filling Maple beef churizo - 9.5/10 - Sweet and savory, had a good amount of filling but was a bit salty Guava danish - 8/10 - Perfect for those who love guava since it has a strong guava flavor Berry danish - 10/10 - Crispy with a creamy and lightly sweet filling Honey matcha - 9/10 - I got this with extra matcha so it was strong like i prefer Cafe de olla - 9/10 - I liked the cinnamony flavors, on the stronger/more bitter side rather than sweet Salted dulce de leche latte - 9/10 - Foam was so creamy and good, on the sweeter side Yemex is a Yemeni-Mexican fusion cafe and has become my go-to spot for pastries in Houston. Their freshly baked goods hit the spot every time! I also prefer strong coffee so I enjoyed their cafe de olla latte. A cozy aesthetic hang out spot but also a good study spot with many outlets. Would definitely recommend giving them a try!

I've been eating yemex since they were just a pop up and I'm so so excited that they were able to start their own store!! And their drinks are amazing! I tried the cafe de olla- iced which I would actually recommend doing hot instead. But the guava matcha was soooo good!! Highly recommend. You cannot go wrong with any of their pastries but my favorite is definitely the mint berry for a sweet one. I also had the maple chorizo & the turkey & cheese with salsa macha. Everything super flavorful and well made. And it's been super popular since they opened a few weeks ago! Definitely get there early if you want pastries cause they ran out midday on a Saturday. (Which they're good about restocking but it takes time). The space is also super cute and the decor really captures both cultures very nicely.

My sister-in-law discovered this bake/coffeehouse on Instagram after seeing a reel of the owners' pastry drops. Since my SIL is a baker herself, I immediately was onboard when she told me about them opening a brick & mortar. This place is gorgeous! It's wonderfully located. And not only is it extraordinarily clean and perfectly tempered (it's on the cold side which I love), but the staff was continuously mopping as they handcrafted our beverages. They were HARD at work! My SIL ordered the Salted Dulce de Leche Latte with whole milk and she said it was really really good (4/5, would have been better without so much cold foam). She got the berry pastry and gave it a perfect score! My Cafe de Olla Latte was incredible (5/5)-- nothing I've ever had before! The spices and citrus were perfectly balanced and I could have downed three more of them, EASILY. It was perfect with oat milk. My cinnamon-coffee pastry was a hearty portion and quite delicious. The middle was a little dry but overall it was insanely tasty. The best part was that it wasn't too sweet & therefore it went perfectly well with the Latte! I hope the best for this business -- the product is spectacular so I hope the community shows up! What a unique fusion experience!! I would definitely revisit next time I'm in town.

Yemeni coffee culture meets Mexico. Husband and wife owned and their first brick and mortar bake house. Visited in the evening and no surprise it was busy. While there was a line it moved really quick. Cashier and baristas were friendly and moving quick. We got the Cafe de Olla Latte and a Salted Vanilla Matcha. Both were bursting with flavors and weren't overly sweet. Just my kind of indulgence. Everything is 100% Halal. Unfortunately they were out of the majority of the baked goods so didn't get to try any. But they looked good based on the few ahead who got the last servings & the options listed in the menu. The space is intimate where it can feel tight but there's plenty of seating. Highly recommend stopping by for a treat of specialty handcrafted and flavorful coffee, tea, lemonade or pastry or all of them.

Almond crossaint, cardamom twist and honeycomb danish

Such a warm and inviting spot. The variety of pastries is really great!!! Lots of sweet and savory. The cardamom twist was so amazing!! The almond croissant, lovely. The danish was our least favorite just because it lacked cheese flavor. Lots of honey. The areekalatte is amazing!!! Wrong ice though as the holes in the ice capture the great bits you are to drink with the drink. Don't mix. Drink as is for best taste they say and I agree. The date foam is just the best hint of sweetness. Really great place. Will for sure be back!!

Came here the week after Ramadan to try out their coffee and pastries. Everything I tried was really good and ambience is really nice too. Subtracting a star because while I was on the way there, they had posted on their IG story that they were out of pastries and another batch was proofing. I asked when I got there how long it would be, they said 1-1.5 hours later. After 1.5 hours passed, no pastries in sight. It took nearly 3 hours for the pastries to be put out and sold. Their demand definitely outweighs supply.

definitely a vibe when you walk in, I think the most exciting thing is waiting in line to see the pastry case! you can see what they are sold out of currently, and they work so hard to keep it going, doing a second bake so people can try and taste what they can when they are there. guava matcha is sooo good, umphhhh!!! spiced honey latte was also giving chai vibes - love it Basque cheesecake that also taste like chai salted dulce de leche was also very good! cafe de olla - hot is IMO better but you know iced coffee is always a vibe my next favorite thing is trying out all the pastries in the case, this place is super cute, mom and pop shop but feels luxurious with all the small details. plenty of parking - check their IG too!

Great place to get pastries and coffee along with Matcha. I really enjoy the service here and the place on the inside is a great place to dine in. The Matcha was great, I highly recommend and would come back.

This looks good but it tasted amazing !

Guava matcha, Strawberry cream matcha, Labne & Zaatar croissant
    Jenny N.

IMO LOWKENUINELY OVERPRICED. Guava matcha was good if you like guava, but the guava was a little overpowering. The strawberry cream however was nice. The labne and zaatar croissant was yummy! It was my first time having something like that, and it reminded me of a spinach dip in a croissant lol

Amazing experience here! The food was amazing, it's a beautiful coffee shop the ambience was great. Service was pretty fast considering how packed they were. I will say it does get very packed but a lot of parking is available.

Inside you will also find French pastries, coffees and teas, gelato, milkshakes, sandwiches and macaroons. I felt the most interesting items were the French pastries as they are cute and tasty as well. Also, they plate the pastries nicely when you dine in as an added bonus. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Inside, it's filled with a strawberry cream and has a chocolate base. I just wish there was more chocolate in this one. They have plenty of seating inside as well as along the sidewalk. Inside you have the more fancy tables, whereas outside, they're more weather resistant and not as upscale in appearance. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. One of the most surprising things when you come here are the relatively affordable prices as you might expect them to be more for being a coffee shop attached to a 5-star hotel with a helipad.

What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. Previously it seemed more of latte, but now to me its a legit Capp. Their choice of pastries hasn't changed, which gives you a good assortment of choices and they have added an additional barista or server which also is a nice touch for service. The only niggling items, parking can be tough, so you'll have to either walk a block or be quick to find a place close by. Regardless, definitely give this place a go to come for a pastry and coffee.

I also heard great things about the mango mochi so we couldn't leave without those. Thankfully they still had some in stock. I heard they sell out quickly especially on weekends. Those also lived up to its hype. SO YUMMY! Tastes so fresh including the mangoes. My kiddo who LOVES mango anything loved them so much! My husband also got 2 savory pastries (I forgot what they were called and I forgot to take a picture) and those were yummy too. Perfectly flakey crust just like the egg tarts. We wanted to get sesame balls but they were sold out. Customer service was great. The guy that took our order was very nice. It was pretty busy but he moved through the line quickly. There's some seating inside if you want to eat there. Prices are very reasonable at $2 each for the mochi and egg tarts. The savory pastries were $3. It's located in a shared lot/area. Parking can be tight and limited on a busy weekend day but they have parking right out front for the Eck bakery customers. Also note that if you pay with card it's a 2.5% charge so cash is better if you have it. We didn't but we know now for future. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back.
