Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.....the local competition seems to have knocked this little gem off its axis. Instead of rising to the occasion with blinding service and awesome coffee and food, they are sliding into a dangerous zone. It is in a dynamic space, with a wonderful real fireplace that should pack the crowds, but we were in there late Sunday morning, and it was sad to see....there were just a handful of late morning coffee drinkers, but worse, was the state of the place. The food on display, was dried out, the ham and the cheese on the croissants and sandwiches were curling. Worse the place was visibly dirty, with cups and plates stacked up to the brim of the plastic basin at the sugar and cream station, and a total sense of apathy from the three staff members. The coffee was cold, and if Nero doesn't jump on this....it will slide into obscurity, be abandoned by the loyal locals, and they will limp along until they jump into action or management will simply close the doors read more

Hubs and I decided to stop in after a dinner date on a Saturday evening for some coffee and a treat. I absolutely fell in love with this charming place! Situated right on the commuter line with a few photos of the building from its past as a train station you cannot help but appreciate the history and ambiance...complete with the rumble of the occasional train. The interior is cozy and somehow slightly rustic yet modern. The staff was friendly and our cappuccinos were delicious and hot. It was not very busy while we were there, so very relaxing. I snagged a nice chocolatey brownie that was tasty. I can imagine this place can get crazy due to the fact that it's right next to the Wellesley Hills station and the cafe itself only has a few designated spots right in front, otherwise it's street parking. I was in Wellesley housesitting with a friend and camped out here to get some studying done near caffeine. I highly recommend. The coffee is very good, snacks are good, and I highly recommend the breakfast croissant sandwich with bacon. Very good and the interior was really lovely. My friend and I had a photo project coming up and actually took some of our best shots in this cafe because of the amazing lighting. read more

Wow, this feels like a throwback to last decade when I had the honor of being the first reviewer for a bunch of places in Wellesley. Now there are way more suburban Yelpers and it's a little more competitive. Anyway, this was my first visit to a Caffe Nero. They lucked into a great space in the old Wellesley Hill train station, (designed by H.H. Richardson, who also did Trinity Church in Boston) and they've done a lot to make it a cozy space with high ceilings and an assortment of tables, benches, and comfy chairs. The food menu is pretty standard issue, mostly sandwiches in the $8-9 range. I had the parma and mascarpone sandwich, which was fine if a little thin and could've used some greens. I also had my eye on the lemon-mascarpone cake, because mascarpone is a great dessert cheese, but I gave it a miss for the moment. Instead, I had the mocha latte frappe, which was somewhere in between a milkshake and a coffee smoothie. I'm not much of a coffee aficionado (in non-ice cream form) but I'd say it was OK in terms of taste and texture. Wi-fi is free. The server seemed like a fun guy and we chatted about programming. They were also handing out samples of their pumpkin muffins, which I liked. read more

Central. Small. Crowded. Unlike the Nero variants in Downtown Crossing and other locations, this one lacks the thorough thoughtout ambiance and open feeling of others. Group table is small, window seating accompanied by shaky micro-tables, and what should be a cozy fireplace seating area feels instead cramped for the space available. Not a bad cafe, but not on playing field of other Neros you will find elsewhere. read more

Decent coffee especially for a chain. Most of the folks who work there are quite hospitable. I did have one strange encounter though... Went to the counter to ask if they offer a deal on refills for filter coffee because I was planning to stay for a bit. Kind lady behind the counter says yes and I happily enjoy my experience. When I returned the next day and did this again, the man behind the counter refilled my cup and charged me the full price. When I asked about their policy on refills he brusquely told me that they had no such policy. When I told him I had been told otherwise he simply dismissed this as misinformation and told me he's sorry someone misinformed me. No biggie (it's the difference of a couple bucks), these things happen. But as a bit of humble advice, I'd suggest you take more responsibility for the error in the future and realize that the $2 extra you're getting from me today pales in comparison to the hundreds of dollars I'll now happily spend at your competitor. read more

This is the perfect coffee shop: An Italian Espresso Machine, a rich assortment of baked goods, and a variety of seating options. The décor is cozy, a bit hip, but not too hip. There's a paper copy of the New York Times for your perusal. When have you last seen that at a coffee shop? The baristas are friendly, and the prices are ok. Nice ambiance. Coffee and accompaniments are good if not a bit pricey. Parking can be difficult and customer service is just okay. This morning I was greeted by two young women behind the counter with no line. One was wearing a coat over uniform looked unprofessional. Upon taking my coffee over to the condiments bar, I found the half and half empty, the whole milk nearly empty, and the bus bucket full of dirty dishes. I looked over to the counter and the two young women had resumed their conversation, clearly lacking "things to do", when in fact there were plenty in plain sight. read more

Great new coffee spot in Wellesley. Offering every type of coffee imaginable along with sandwiches, pastries & desserts. The drinks were hot. Very hot. I say this in a good way. Usually I find my coffee gets cold very quick. My drinks at Caffe Nero stay hot till the last sip. I appreciated this very much. The decor inside is an eclectic mix of vintage & industrial pieces. There is a double sided fireplace you can snuggle up next to while enjoying your treats. The only downside would be the parking lot. Thereiare not many spaces available. Nero in Wellesley Hills is a cozy little coffee shop. There's a fireplace and funky Chairs to sit in. Coffee is tasty. My only gripes are that it's often super crowded, leaving no place to sit and the parking lot is super awkward. Parking is sometimes hard to find. I've been here about four times where I had to turn around and leave because I couldn't find parking. read more

This Cafe Nero is located at the Wellesley Hills station on the commuter rail. It is an old train station converted beautifully into a cozy and diverse spot where you can see everyone from students, to tennis moms, to business people and everyone in between. What I love about the space here is how they have created ample seating even the small space, and you can easily tuck away and do some work in a quiet corner or meet a friend for a pastry and a cup of coffee. I also love Cafe Nero's coffee--one of my favorite places for a yummy cold brew. Only downfall is the Wellesley chaos that is parking-- there is a small parking lot that is shared with the train station and it is is a little bit of a mess. Walk if you can! read more

I loved cafe nero in wellesley and was happy when the one in newton opened. my daughter and i went in and ordered coffee. the girl that took our order had her mask under her nose while preparing our food and making change. i was going to let it go but then just went to the wellesley one and the person behind the counter there did the same! Her mask was under her nose! i'm tempted to tell the BBB. not ok. they were also quite sour and crabby. i won't be back and i do love their coffee. :-( they have plexiglas to protect them but it doesn't protect us if their masks are under their noses!. read more

This little Cafe is a hidden Gem! I happened upon it while in Wellesley one day, it is now our preferred go to coffee shop. They have top quality pastries & sandwiches. I have only been to this coffee shop once but I fell in love with it immediately. The location is perfect, right off the commuter rail so I can make it there on my way to work in Boston. It's quaint and adorable, has an old-fashioned feel. The employees are super friendly, and the coffee, lattes, and food is to die for. Not to mention they make AWESOME latte art! Beautiful caffe and friendly staff, but our beverages left more to be desired.

I ordered a Cappuccino and an Americano. The foam was good and a marking attempt was made. The Espresso was a bit over Roasted for my taste. After cooling a little the Coffee was better. I loved the unfinished dirty floors, brick walls, rusty I beams and cool mix of leather chairs. The packaging on the coffee beans for sale was well thought out. The pricing is below market close to 1 dollar less for each drink offering. Lots of staff. It's a very enjoyable place to visit. read more

Rustic Italian styled cafe serving a sandwich and lunch menu alongside coffee creations and local treats. Staff is helpful in explaining menu items and helping to choose the right drink. I just ordered (and consumed) a mocha and have satisfied my chocolate cravings without drinking an overly sweet beverage. The cappuccino my husband ordered came with perfect foam as well. There is one sandwich from here that is very good I think it's the blt. It's untraditional so try it even if you aren't usually a blt fan. Other than that I wish they had food options besides sandwiches and cake. They also need to more clearly display their non coffee beverages because I always have a hard time finding more than three or so non coffee drinks. DONT GET THE SMOOTHIE!!
