Caffe Aroma used to be my GO-TO spot between classes when I attended Canisius College. I would sit on the cushioned bench in the back, put in my earphones and write my papers. Recently, I read a bunch of negative reviews (and heard a bunch of negative things). I'm gonna start by saying, it is NOT on par with how it used to be. I know there was a change in management and it was very obvious. I came in here about a year ago and it validated some of those concerning statements I heard. But this time around, I'm going to go ahead and say that I believe they're doing everything they can to change things around back to the positive atmosphere it used to be. The man behind the bar had SUCH a positive attitude (not sure what his name is), and didn't let anything affect it. The few concerns I have, mostly revolve around maintenance and customers. I ordered an Irish Coffee and said yes to whipped cream, however the heavy cream had gone bad. I don't blame the one (and only) person working, it didn't seem like it'd freshly gone bad. It seemed like it'd been bad for a couple of days. The employee happily replaced it with a drink on the house (thank you!) I worked for about 3 hours and in that time, noticed multiple homeless/unhygienic customers come in. They all ordered something, and I understand a paying customer, is a customer. But is it intimidating to all the young college students coming in solo? I presume so. It would have been intimidating for me, had this been when I was at Canisius. A Summary: I absolutely love this place, blame my nostalgia. The employee working was absolutely superb (wish I got his name, gray haired man working alone, give him a raise, unless he's the owner! lol). The clientele and the maintenance (like let's update those benches in the back, I've seen so many unhygienic people sit there, and also the glassware/silverware/plates) is not up to par. I hope to come back in a couple of months and be pleasantly surprised!

The entrance to a wonderful experience.

Mickey provides excellent customer service. My first time there as from out of town. Was in Buffalo for a wedding. It is a quaint place with an excellent vibe. Mickey loves his customers and knows many by name as evidenced while I sat waiting out the rain. There is outdoor seating which my son and his wife truly enjoyed. Windows open to the outside which is a plus. I definitely recommend this place. I am a purist when it comes to coffee as I drink it black to taste the true flavor. His coffee is fantastic!

I love Caffe Aroma. The coffee and treats and baked goods and larger plates are all delicious. It's very cozy and comfortable and happy-making. Great service. I've been coming here almost 25 years and look forward to 25 more!

What a great way to end the night! Idk if she was the manager or the owner but she greeted us with a smile and served up some wonderful cocktails! We got a chance to witness the open mic no mic performances and the vibe was super chill. Looking forward to the next time! Cheers!

Stopped in for a nightcap and it just so happened to be open-mic; no-mic night. I ordered the Chocolate Martini - Delish! Love the eclectic atmosphere

Cool little corner coffee shop. City neighborhood vibes. We had a cappuccino and a golden milk latte, both very good. Also had the breakfast sandwiches, fluffy eggs and toasted bagel, very tasty. Very chill groovy music on. Nice spot

I've been here two other times. The first time was a couple years ago. I met with a friend and had a latte and some breakfast food. The barista had drawn a cool design in the latte. It was a leaf. The second time was a chai tea and a cookie to go after running in the neighborhood. Today was my third time coming here. I wanted to support them during the COVID-19 pandemic. I stopped in here while out for a long walk. I ordered a black coffee and added my own sugar and milk. I love the vibe of this place and I'm so glad that they're still open.

The best of the best for coffee. Very relaxing in a atmosphere of sophistication. They now have also cocktails and wins their menu done very nicely. Also very clean very nice! They have great coffee and great bagel sandwiches, the service is great.

Breakfast Sandwich with deli paper in it

Edit: it is now under new ownership & I can already tell the difference. The breakfast sandwiches are incredible (just like they used to be before the deli paper & green egg incident) & they have amazing chai. I love the ambiance inside the cafe it's very inviting and cozy. Staff is incredibly nice & welcoming too.

The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and effortlessly cool, the kind of place that makes you want to linger for hours with a good book and a great cup of coffee. My fiancé and I each ordered one of their specialty coffees along with bagels, and everything was fantastic. After a less than stellar experience at Tim Hortons earlier in the trip, Seven Hearts completely redeemed our coffee expectations. It was exactly the aesthetic and experience I had been searching for. What really made it special was how quickly it felt like a place I could make part of my routine. If I lived in Buffalo, this would absolutely be my go to coffee shop. Before leaving, I picked up a couple of honey sticks and a bottle of their house made lavender syrup to bring home. Now I get to enjoy a little taste of Seven Hearts, and Buffalo, with my morning coffee for a few more days.

Upon entering, no one greeted me, and I felt rushed while looking over the menu. When I asked questions, it felt like I was inconveniencing the employee rather than being helped. I ordered the blueberry lemon bar matcha and hoped the drink would redeem the experience, but it was disappointing. The flavor combination didn't work well in a matcha drink, and it left a strange aftertaste/coating in my mouth. I also specifically requested no dairy (asked for oat milk) yet it still came topped with cold foam, which upset my stomach. It looked cute, but for nearly $9, it wasn't enjoyable. I had originally planned to order food as well, but the overall atmosphere and interaction felt so uncomfortable that I decided to just take my drink and leave.

A very interesting and fun repurposing of an old building/house. Very friendly, patient and helpful employees (apologies to the very kind woman at the counter, because when I'm excited I tend to chatter a lot). The baked goods were delicious, the whole grain toast was hearty and so full of flavor. The croissant was large, flaky and buttery. My husband's apple cake was moist and the frosting was perfect. I really enjoyed the coffee and since they don't grind the beans for you, I bought the bag of their signature blend then stopped at Walmart for a coffee bean grinder. I love savory for breakfast so I had 2 soft boiled eggs, ham, gruyere cheese, whole grain toast and pesto. When my plate came I was very pleased to see the vintage items used and some repurposed very cleverly. If the decor isn't your "thing"...make a visit for their food and coffee.
