My SO and I went here tonight for dessert: wedding cake and lemon ice box pie. Mouth-watering sugary sweetness. Both desserts were perfection! I think we ate them way to quickly. Sugar rush. I had the pleasure of seeing a few of their regular employees - Tristan is always very cordial. They are known for their salads, and their Caesar is my favorite. It's a good size and they have an amazing dressing. My favorite soup is the tomato; their soup breads are the best I've ever had! My only complaint is that I can't go here as often as I previously could. Unfortunately, I go to work before they open, and I don't usually get back to Metairie until after they are closed. The manager is the epitome of arrogance and rudeness. She referred tome and my partner as THOSE TWO, when I asked an employee to turn off the ceiling fans when were making our seating area too cold and uncomfortable. She refused to turn them off and screamed that it was a certain temperature outside and she would not accommodate THOSE TWO referring to my partner and I , who eat there 7 days a week ! Several times I get to go orders and later discover that she neglected to include all items in my bag thus having to drive all the way back there and hassle to get the paid for items, instead of getting a sincere apology, she gives me a NASTY look like I was bothering her! The red beans and rice always had large clumps of rice stuck together, horrible. The desserts are mediocra and overpriced. The angle food cake is stale and rubbery, Having to beg over and over for crackers to accompany an overpriced bowl of soup is beyond rude, having the crackers almost thrown at me was the result. There is a very old man who works there who cleans the parking lot of litter who has the nerve to make very inappropriate comments to my partner. The floors do not look like they are mopped regularly and the tables are sticky like they have not been properly cleaned. The bathroom there has garbage cans that are not cleaned over over pouring of women's personal menestration items, very repulsive. The avocado salad is overpriced and skimpy on quality greens which are cheap. I have stopped going there as a result of being treated like garbage and no I am not an African American so it is not due to their being racists, they are rude and offensive to me , I am a professional CPA and my partner is a real estate agent. Do not go there, go to Sho Gun or Drago's where the employees at least pretend to be polite and professional . The employees at Caffe Cafee act like they really resent their customers and could not care less what you think, they made many rude out loud derogatory comments about my partner that were totally uncalled for and hurtful. read more

My co-workers ordered this for lunch today so I decided to try them out. I decided on the Caffè combination. My 2 picks were the tuna salad sandwich and ceasar salad. First things first the ceasar salad was delicious!!! The dressing though creamy based wasn't overpowering like some can be nor heavy, the croutons are definitely freshly prepared, and no shortage of the parm! The sandwich was tasty but, not great. This was just enough food for a lunch, I didn't feel sluggish or weighted afterwards. My meal with no drink was $10 so eating this everyday could add up quickly but, I'll definitely be checking them out again. read more

Really good place to have lunch at. Last time I order egg sandwich, instead of bread I ask for croissant. The choice of croissant made the sandwich much tastier. This place is a delicious place to grab breakfast or lunch. Today we were in with our 16 month old for breakfast and had the breakfast wrap and a cafe au lait. Everything was just right. Our server (the woman behind the counter who served our food) was very polite and helpful in helping us choose a muffin from their assortment. We chose a pumpkin muffin that was moist and had a sprinkle of pumpkin seeds on top. When our wraps came out, the woman was very careful in making sure each had the bacon that we ordered since the bacon wasn't actually visible. Our table was very clean as was the high chair we got for the little man. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that there was NO changing table! I watched at LEAST three families come in with a child under the age of two. So when it came time to change our little one I had no doubt there would be a place to change him. Unfortunately there wasn't even a countertop to even place our on the go mat on and it was pouring down rain so we couldn't change in the car easily. This place gets really busy around lunch but it's still a comfortable setting. Large variety of coffees & pastries. Nice selection of salads. I've tried the Asian Chicken salad and I had the spinach salad and added grilled chicken with a Mango dressing....yummy!!!!!! I go here now about once a week or so because my boss loves it. My family moved to the northshore when I was 8, and I had fond memories of going to Caffee! Caffe! in Mandeville, with mile high sandwiches stacked with sprouts and avocados. My memory served me well on my return to the company at their Metairie location. Though crowded, it did not feel cramped and staff moved the line along well. My husband and I only ordered coffee and a wedding cake cupcake, but it was great and I will definitely be going back for more. That cupcake was a big hunk of almond heaven. read more

I have eaten at so many places in Chicago. This city runs on restaurants and smll cafés. This place is now one of my favorites in the city!! It is so good and comforting. Whoever the mastermind is behind the potato salad, deserves an award! I would always get chips for the side but I promise you the potato salad is the move!! This place is great but typically busy. Lots of suburbanites come to this coffee oasis. Mainly because not just do they do coffee but they also have a decent food menu including sandwiches, soups and really good salads. Caffe Caffe is a very "ladies who lunch" type of vibe. Come lunch rush, this place is busting at the seams. I love their assortment of salads. You can get a very nice size salad for $10 and a salad with a protein will run you up to about $13. They also have a good half sandwich and small salad or soup combo that's perfect for lunch. One of my favorite meals there is the avocado salad. It comes with a half an avocado, walnuts, blue cheese, and delicious mango vinaigrette. You can add grilled chicken or chicken salad for a real treat. It's usually bustling during lunch hours, but they do a good job of keeping the line moving. It's partial service, you order at the counter and they call your number when your food is ready, but they will bus your table. The iced tea and soft drinks are self serviced. They also have a full menu of hot teas and coffee drinks. If you have a sweet tooth you will have a hard time choosing between all the delicious cookies and cakes they have in the display case. I used to frequent Caffe Caffe often when I lived in New Orleans, but I haven't been in years. I recently moved back and had a craving for Caffe Caffe. I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived to pick up my order and waited at the call-in order line...I waited, and waited, and waited! I tried to ask for help from one of the SEVERAL girls working the counter. I made eye contact with two girls. They ignored me. They helped every customer who walked up, but I was ignored. I really hate bringing up race, but I'm thinking that because I was the only black person inside the cafe may be the reason I was ignored. I walked out. You can keep the food! I called to speak with a manager, and he apologized, but his tone indicated that he really didn't care. This incident did NOT happen during a busy lunch rush, so what was the reason for it? I refuse to patronize a business that acts that way with me. I may just be one person, but word of mouth is a powerful thing, especially when I work for the local news media. Whether it was racism or not, others will DEFINITELY hear about this. ETA: Well Lisa, can you please inform me of what impression I should have gotten? I waited for my order and was ignored. I said, "excuse me," to two girls -- one of whom handed another customer his order directly in front of me and ignored me as if I were invisible. My review is solely on their desserts and appearance. The look of the place is really cute, I love it. It's warm, inviting, and cozy. I've never been able to try their food but by the looks of it, it all looks delicious. For the most part staff is usually friendly, they aren't too welcoming at times. But I go there because they have some of the best desserts I've had in my entire life. They all taste super fresh. The ingredients taste simple but delicious. Their coconut pie is my favorite. Caffe! Caffe! has been a staple of the Metairie area for decades. Most of the time, there is ample parking available. The environment is very clean and modern with nice finishing touches. They have cakes available by the slice and all different types of breads and cookies. Their coffees and teas are made well, and they have a great breakfast menu. Lately I've been a fan of the grits with bacon, cheddar cheese, and scrambled eggs in a bowl. They have fresh squeezed juices available, which I think is a great option to offer. In addition to the different salads and sandwiches you can order, they have special soups and pastas noted on the board above the cake display case. Came here for some late night sweets with my SO and we were more than satisfied! We got a slice of lemon icebox pie and a slice of wedding cake. Mm MMMMM. So delectable! The pie was smooth and perfectly lemony. And the cake was moist and had layers of strawberry and pineapple filling between the almond cake layers. It was SO MUCH but SO GOOD. I gave this place one star two weeks ago because you suppose to order lunch on Sunday before noon. I still got a beef with that. I thought lunch started at noon on Sunday. So I didnt get my chipotle chicken wrap then. The manager did contact me and invited me to order a chicken chipotle wrap some time during the week. Well I just had it and it was tasty. I glad I gave them another chance. Now the business hours are still terrible and I still have no idea what time the kitchen closes snd given night. I assuming it an hour before the business closes. I had been craving some wedding cake for quite some time and finally I found it! I got 2 slices of wedding cake and 1 slice of carrot cake. Stopped based on multiple recommendations. Had the Chipotle Chicken Wrap and it was very good. I would have preferred the Chipotle mayo in the wrap vice on the side, but it didn't take away from the taste, just a personal preference. I am so impressed by the service staff at Caffe Caffe. I had a particularly pleasant experience being waited on at the counter by Brad. He was patient with me while I asked questions and was very polite and helpful. It's rare that you don't feel like your being rushed out of a coffee place by your server. Kudos!
