I swung by for a cappuccino and am very impressed with this drive thru. The service was speedy, my order was perfect and the staff was so friendly. I was asked if I would like a "wet" cappuccino, meaning extra steamed milk since some cappuccinos can feel a little light. I've never been offered extra steamed milk, so this was much appreciated. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVEEE PERKS! I haven't had a thing from this menu I haven't liked. EVERYTHING IS FRESH! I love their tea. I love their coffee. Some of my favorite foods here include Club, The Boss, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and the "Not A Cuban" Sandwich. I love the Avocado BLT wrap and like to get extra of the garlic aioli on the side. Love all of their breakfast. My favorite would probably be the Low Carb Bowl. The owner is a sweetie. The soups are so yummy. Called ahead my order. Was ready with in 12 mins Tried the Belgium waffle with banana foster on the side. Delicious. Perfectly sweet ! Also enjoyed the avocado BLT wrapped in spinach. Which I preferred over the hash brown wrap. Loved the BLT. Bacon was crunchy salty and right amount of garlic aioli. I enjoyed it more than the hash brown wrap. Wish the hash brown was crispy. Perks is my go-to lunch spot during the work week. My top picks are the Perky Turkey and the brunch bagel. But there are lots of options from sandwiches to paninis to salads. I like getting fries and a drink with my sandwich to make it a box lunch. Their potatoes and French fries are both delicious side options! It is easy to call in and pick up my order. This was my first time at perks and it was great. Inside was super clean and everyone who works there was very friendly. The food was just very good and for a very good price, you will probably need some salt, pepper, and hot sauce because it is pretty plain jane. The grits were actually some of the best I've ever had they weren't chunky or too watery, they were a perfect consistency and tasted buttery as well. The combo minis tasted fine but you need to eat the asap because even if they get a little cold they are rock hard. The cold brew was a little weak but my niece loved the frozen hot chocolate. It's cute & quaint. The customer service purely lacks the essence and I interacted with three different employees. The one that was kind and memorable is the darkest haired Hispanic/Latin woman. Ordered an avocado on wheat toast and an almond milk vanilla latte to dine in totaling close to $11. Out comes my order and ridiculously it's one slice of bread, a heapful of avocado, two tomatoes. It was incredibly salty but after my long flight I was starving and ate anyhow. The latte is especially nice. The right foam consistency that I look for in a latte. This is a cute little cafe in the heart of Metairie. I have only been here once but would like to try more menu items. I went here for their hot cupcake latte. I also ordered a breakfast croissant. I really enjoyed the flavor of the coffee. It was not an overpowering cupcake flavor but tasty. Sort of like a slightly sweeter normal latte. The croissant was good but I was a little disappointed that it was flattened sort of like a panini. I was looking forward to a flaky buttery croissant but it was still tasty. Everyone behind the counter was professional and I loved fresh, real flowers on most of the tables. There are about 8 small tables in the restaurant and a few outside so you can watch the clearview traffic and whatnot. I really liked that they sell booze. They sell mimosas and bloody Mary's even rum punches here. They have a breakfast and lunch dinner and I think you can both from open to close. There was a note on the counter saying they couldn't print a new menu every time prices changed. Fine, I thought, my coffee will be a 25 cents more than the menu says. No, it was more than $2 more than the $4.50 on the board - 50% higher or so. Perhaps they couldn't afford to print a new menu, but they could put that note up on the board where it would be more visible and let people know the prices were substantially different (not just a modest adjustment) from what is advertised. Next, I tried to leave a tip that was not an even dollar amount, and it would not let me enter that into the machine. Tried to prompt me to leave an $86 tip. Next, after sitting there ten minutes, I did not actually get my drink. I had to go ask for it, and as an apology, they gave me a smaller size than I ordered and paid for. A lot of times, I avoid going out for lunch on the weekends because of crowds, noise, etc. This place was exactly what I was looking for: quiet, delicious food and interesting drinks. My goodness it was truly delicious. The wrap was warmed to perfection! I actually wanted to purchase one to bring back to Houston. That didn't work though because they closed at 2 today. Damn. I will most definitely, absolutely return to Perks. I'm not even hungry at this moment, however I would eat that wrap again at this moment. The remoulade sauce was on the side as requested. There is maybe 5 spots to Park in. The building seems to be fighting a space war between other stores and the Neighborhood. The front door sports a sign, asking patrons to NOT park in a certain parking spot or the neighbor will call and have you towed. As for the food. There is no table service. You order at the counter. The space inside is nice. Seating seems more fit for a coffee shop. The food itself was quite good. We had the low carb egg bowl. Well they did, I had waffle and eggs. The consensus was, they loved the low carb egg dish. My waffle was crisp, the way I like it. Price is a little higher than I would expect, but it is a place we would come back to. read more
