Unfortunately, when we walked in this morning, we were not greeted and we went to the checkout area to go ahead and place an order and the girl refused to speak, took a swig of her drink, finished and then turned and still did not greet or even ask what we would like to order. As the daughter of parents who also own small businesses, I get that we don't always want to help our family run their business. But I took this as a moment to teach my daughter that we do not need to spend our hard earned money in places we are not wanted. First time eating here. I was craving a salad, and saw the good reviews here. I ordered pickup, and the young woman at the counter was friendly at pickup. They did not disappoint! I ordered the gyro salad, and my husband got the sandwich. The salad was HUGE! The veggies were fresh. The generous meat portion was super flavorful. My only complaint was that several pieces were a bit overcooked during the reheat, so those pieces were a little dry. Not really a big deal, though, as dipping them into the yummy tzatziki helped. The grilled pita bread was slightly crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I wrote this review before my husband had tried his sandwich, but because it was the same ingredients as my salad, I don't imaging he'd be disappointed! My 1st time at this eatery and it did not disappoint. We had the dolmades for an appetizer and they were delicious. I had a greek burger and the feta cheese was kicking. My friend had a gyro platter and the meat was oh so tender and seasoned to our liking. Both had fries and they were crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. The service is mostly counter so that is the reason I didn't give 5 stars. It is very attractive for a small area with comfy couches if you want to stay and sip coffee. I got some food to go and ate it in my car since I had my dog with me and everything was delicious. I had the spanakopita, the chicken platter with cauliflower rice and Greek style green beans, and a piece of baklava. I wasn't a fan of the green beans but that just comes down to personal taste. I'm sure plenty of people do like them. Next time I'll get it with salad or fries instead. The spanakopita is the best I have ever tasted. I definitely want to come back to try some of their breakfast items as well as the falafel. They have a huge selection of sugar free syrups for their espresso drinks which I love. The inside is very clean and beautifully decorated. EDIT: I came back to try the falafel and it was the best falafel I've ever had. I am not kidding. We stopped in here on a Sunday after church. Immediately I was impressed with the coach area which had toys and books appropriate for my toddler son. It gave him a chance to play while not disturbing the other patrons. Definitely a family friendly restaurant. We ordered the traditional gyros and spanakopita and both were phenomenal! We had a breakfast bowl and French toast with macchiatos as well. The food was prepared fresh and made to order. When we received the food it was hot and super tasty. The potatoes needed a little bit of seasoning, but other than that, we have no complaints about the food. The young lady who took our order did seem a little overwhelmed with her little ones running around. It didn't bother us, but may be an issue if someone just wants to enjoy a nice, quiet meal. The cafe was cleaned nicely and the decorations were cute. The cashier was very chatty and discussed his personal matters openly with another customer who seemed possibly like a regular. He asked if we wanted to take the rest of The baklava tasted old and it makes sense as the cashier said that was made "a few days ago" once we asked. The food was overcooked and resulted in very hard falafel. Felt like I was biting into a crouton. I'm not sure where the cucumbers were cut, but they were cut on the same surface as a different produce and that flavor absorbed into them and it was not pleasant. The dessert I ordered tasted old as well and was very dry and brittle. Although I was unimpressed by this visit, I'd be willing to try again in hopes that my visit was just on a bad day. read more

Went to Caffe OPA with large group, each person ordered individually at counter. Group split up to small groups at tiny tables. I wait while 2 people at my table were served and completed their meals. I went to counter to ask where my meal was. Girl said she asked at other tables but not mine that they were out of mousaka. I just wanted my money back. I had paid for the mousaka & small iced tea ($1.99) with a $2.00 tip (she did not deserve.) She gave me a receipt for the refund which was a receipt for someone else's meal. I did not look at the receipt; I assume it was my refund receipt. The group left together. Days later, reviewing my VISA account online I discover I still charged $4.95 for the iced tea. I called Caffe OPA asked for manager. Told she was busy. Explained I was overcharged. Faye, the manager, answered. I explained the issue. She told me she would look into it & called me back on Monday. Monday, Tuesday, into Wednesday no call. I called again and asked to speak to Faye. She was busy & would call me back. Hours later, Faye called back & told me the tip was already given to the girl who did not how to do her job. Faye spent a angry long monologue about how she makes the mousaka herself & bah-bah-bah. She told me I was rude to all her employees (I only spoke to ONE). She told me I paid the tip. I explained to her I paid for food service I did not receive. her female employee was untrained. If she did not want to loose $2.00 to her untrained employee, she should dock the $2.00 for the girl and maybe the girl will learn an important lesson. Faye still was yelling at me about the $2.00 when she hung up on me. Faye left a voice message on my phone later telling me she was refunding me $0.78 to my VISA. Yes, I was still paying the $2.00 tip. If I was a local resident, instead of attending a funeral in Fayetteville, Faye probably would have refunded the whole amount. I guess this is just good North Carolina behavior. Beware of Caffee OPA if you are from out of town!!!!! read more

The restaurant needs help though because one person cannot answer the phone, prepare gourmet coffee (that's perfectly made by the way) and explain pastries to inquiring customers. One customer waited 25 minutes for a pastry and coffee and asked if that was a normal wait time. She was pleasant and in the right to ask, but when she left, the employees were mocking the customer where the rest of us patrons could hear. When I enter there were 2 ladies at the counter engaged in conversation with no regard to my presence as a potential customer, then a bearded cook comes out with food in his beard and no mask (this was when the Covid thing started) and no beard net, asking my friend and I, in a very burdened way, what do we want. We wanted a Greek salad, suvlaki, a few gyros, and baklava. The meat was dry and overcooked, salad had a very strange mop water smell, the baklava was standard. The disregard for sanitary standards with rude bearded chef and lack of mask was the big kicker for me. I really was hoping this place would impress me. Maybe they have changed since then, idk, I haven't been back since.
