    Gyro in Pita
    Cynthia B.

1st time here after a friend recommended. Food was plentiful. I also got a Philly Cheese Steak. It was good but could use a little more steak. My husband really liked the Gyro. He liked that the meat was finely chopped. Will visit again.

Very good food, and the owners are genuinely friendly and care about how your food was. The gyro was spot on- with home made tzadziki. The chicken schwarma has a great Arabic curry seasoning. Tiramisu was tasty. The place isn't fancy, but I know I'll be back soon to try their wings and a bacon Philly.

The food is great! The owner is great! The prices is great! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the restaurant is a bit outdated and could be a bit more clean for those who choose to eat inside. Besides that... highly satisfied!!

I first discovered Odeh's when it was deemed the favorite restaurant by our local Yelp ambassador Erik and they had just a few tables in a small space with just counter service. Since then they have grown to add a larger dining room, table service and expanded their already delicious menu. There is nothing bad here and you can find something for every taste. I usually go with some sort of chicken dish but my husband has tried many of their other favorites and has loved them all. The portions are generous and I usually leave with a container for the next day.

Craving something Mediterranean, something international and authentic. Shish House popped up on my radar and I stopped in for an early weekday lunch. They have the usual and traditional Mediterranean dishes, but I wanted something different today. Went with some authentic Yemeni food. I ordered the Fahsah Lehm. This is a Saltah (traditional Yemeni stew) with melt in your mouth lamb that came out piping hot and bubbling in a clay bowl (see vid). You can feel, hear, smell and taste the authenticity in this dish. Spices and flavors flowing all over. It comes out with an amazing garlic sauce and a Yemeni style green sauce, almost like a salsa. And if that wasn't enough, you get the biggest clay oven bread (a Yemeni Malawah) you have ever seen. Words don't do it justice, see pics for details. This is honestly the perfect edible shovel. Tear some off, scoop up some bubbling lamb and spices, then drag it through the garlic and green sauce. Get messy...flavor the authenticity this dish explodes with. One of the best international experiences which transports you somewhere else. And it's just a small unassuming spot in the international corridor on Market St by Super G Mart. ***PLACES LIKE THIS DEFINE MY LOVE FOR FOOD, AND WHAT MORE FOOD CAN DO THAN JUST SATIATE HUNGER. The menu is not too complicated. I ordered the chicken Sambosa. I think I would prefer if it was a vegetable Sambosa. I also ordered the lamb shawarma. It wasn't bad. I think I would come again if I'm in the area. The mint lemonade was delicious. There isn't much to the decor or ambiance.

The service was friendly, though it seemed like a team effort, so different staff members would take our order or bring out food instead of one dedicated server. That occasionally led to delays when we asked for refills or extra plates, and we usually had to repeat the request to our waitress later. For dinner, I shared the Kofta Kebab and Lahmacun with a friend, and the portion size was just enough for both of us to leave full. Unfortunately, parts of the kebab were burnt, so maybe we just caught them on an off night. Surprisingly, my favorite part of the meal was the warm pita bread they brought to the table. If you're looking to try Turkish food, Bosphorus is worth checking out, but I'd probably order different dishes next time or visit when it's a little less busy.

We ordered the grape leaves, baklava, namoora and tabbouli. I am Lebanese and these are staples in our home. The grape leaves were extremely dry and tough. The rice was very undercooked and the leaves themselves were so dry and tough we could barely chew through them. We ordered 12 and thought maybe it was a fluke but all 12 were completely inedible and we threw them out immediately. The baklava was okay, nothing to write home about. Very simple syrup forward and you couldn't taste much else (we ordered the walnut). The namoora was stale. Very dry. Namoora should melt in your mouth with with a slight chew. This was again, tough and stale. We threw those out as well. Lastly, our favorite salad, tabbouli. The lemon taste was nonexistent. The parsley wasn't chopped fine as Tabbouli should be. It was a watery mess. Overall, we won't be back. We spent over $75 on 4 items and left feeling hungry and bamboozled. There are other Lebanese food spots to visit in the Raleigh area, I will stick to those. Please do better when representing Lebanese cuisine. 15 workers behind the counter can seem like you're doing something right but in the end, it all comes down to the freshness and authenticity of what you are claiming to serve.
