I was recently in the area and in the mood for a crepe, so this review is based on my very specific experience... Caffeine is located in a row of storefronts. There's a variety of street parking and a couple of nearby lots. Immediately upon walking in, it's a very trendy, clean, coffee shop. There are a variety of seating options and it seems to be a good place to relax or get some work done. The service was excellent and very friendly. And there is a decent selection of food and drink options. Ok, so I was hoping for a classic ham and cheese crepe and that's what I ordered. Unfortunately, the crepe consistency wasn't quite right and it felt like there was more or a different kind of flour than what I have experienced in most places I have eaten them. Plus, it's served with hollandaise and not bechamel so the whole thing was very heavy. It was disappointing... So, no more crepes from here for me but it's a nice spot and I might try a sandwich or something if I go back... read more

Loved this cozy trendy cafe. Thankfully parking was easy but I came here for a meeting and we had the options between several tables or some comfy couches. For a gal who doesn't drink caffeine...I loved this cafe. Welcoming atmosphere with knowledgeable friendly staff who made great suggestions. I had the salmon croissant, it was delicious and full of flavor. The croissant was fluffy and buttery, truly delicious. My husband opted for the avocado toast with salmon, I will have to try it next time. We shared the peanut butter crepe, light and really good. It's okay.... I've been here twice and their customer service has been very dry. The raspberry croissant is pretty good. I tried a coffee for the first time I got a hot crème brûlée latte... it wasn't very good. Didn't have the sweetness of a crème brûlée and tasted kinda weak in strength. Came to Caffeine with my friends thinking this would be our new favorite study spot because it looks so cute in pictures. To be honest, we were a bit underwhelmed. The drinks are flashy with fun flavors, but they tasted average at best and are a bit pricey. The interior is cute, but the space is long and narrow with windows only at the front of the shop. This is a coffee spot in Lakewood that I can see myself going with friends for brunch and a nice chat, or getting some studying done. It was pretty crowded even before COVID precautions were completely lifted though, so if you're more into a quiet study environment this might not be the best choice for you. I got the beet latte, which was a lovely pink color and had a subtle earthy taste. My friend got the white fruit tea and it tasted watered down, but that's also the charm behind white tea I suppose :P Regardless, it wasn't fruity enough for either of us. We both got croissant sandwiches, and even though the filling of the sandwiches were decent, the croissants seemed a bit stale. So while shop appearance was a 5/5, the food itself left something to be desired. But maybe we just got the wrong items, I seem to always hear a lot of good things about this place! read more

Really cool coffee spot with nice chill vibes! The atmosphere is clean, bright and spacious with an awesome feature wall. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. At 1pm we were the only customers, I Ordered a chicken salad sandwich, they didn't have any croissants so they put it on bread. The sandwich was so tiny it looked like a Panera half sandwich stuck on 2 little end pieces of the loaf. For $9?! And it was the owner making it. I've previously had the chicken salad sandwiches there and it was insulting to be served that. I would never have served that to a customer. Shame on them. I wish I had taken a picture. 30 April 2019 (Tuesday) I continue to explore tea shops around town. Caffeine is a super chic and new cafe in Lakewood. There is a limited menu for now but they will expand the menu a bit this summer. I think the menu is actually fine as it is - simple. They do plan to add a waffle cone dessert with ice-cream and also smoothies. AMBIANCE -- I love the whole aesthetic and warm, inviting feeling inside. The furniture is comfortable (sofas) and there is plenty of other seating available (tables and chairs). The light fixtures are unique and nice. It is bright inside and conducive to getting work done or studying. They do play music but I'm sure you can ask them to turn the volume down if it is bothering you. I was fine with the music volume and I actually want their playlist. So if the owner is reading this review, message me the playlist...LOL. WIFI -- Ask them for the password and they will give it to you. The wifi worked well the whole time I was there. I suggest making a purchase first before using their wifi since that is just common courtesy. SERVICE -- Service was wonderful. A young man by the name of Tony (I think) helped me. I loved his Ukrainian accent. He asked if it was my first time here (yes, it was) and he then explained the menu to me. After I ordered, another gentleman brought my food to me. My plate and mug was taken away when I was done. DRINKS / FOOD -- I ordered the peach tea ($2.75) and the salmon croissant sandwich ($8.95). The peach tea came in a clear glass mug. It is a loose leaf tea from Adiago (a tea company). It was very refreshing. I added a little bit of raw sugar to it which actually is not needed. They have drink condiments for you (sugar and creamer) if you want to add those. The salmon croissant was delicious. It came with a small side salad. The salmon croissant came with tomatoes and greens. It also had some sort of cheese or cream spread which was an okay taste but not bad. Overall, I loved this croissant and I will be back to try some of their sweet pastries. Please note, the croissant sandwiches are a bit on the pricey side ($8+) but well worth the taste. I highly recommend that you come in to support Caffeine. They have a variety of coffee and tea drinks as well as sweet and savoury pastries (croissants). They just opened 10 days ago (April 2019) and they will begin to offer some additional menu items soon. Stopped into this spot over the weekend, and was pleasantly surprised! Super cool decor, great spot for getting some work done or for meeting friends for coffee or a quick bite to eat! The coffee was delicious. Beautifully crafted and quite the variety of options! They have a few seasonal drinks and they also sounded quite good and unique. They have a variety of milk options and the baristas were both kind and accommodating. Although my group did not order any food plenty of people around us had a variety of dishes that all looked very good! We were celebrating a birthday and they allowed us to bring a mini cake in and enjoy it there! Very nice! Only down side, that's not really even on them is that you have to enter the main building that Caffeine is apart of to use the bathroom. Although their are free public restrooms available, they were quite dirty, many of the toilets clogged, and all the stalls were out of toilet paper. I kind of chuckled at the name because how much more obvious can you be... it's so up in your face that it's actually quite hilarious. Yep. You can get caffeine here, you guys! What's even more thrilling is the chic modern ambiance with adorable little cacti on the tables and a vibe that just says "okay, Saturday afternoon... I'm taking you down!" My productivity level was very fantastic this particular day in which I consumed the HONEY BEE LATTE. I love cinnamon and honey in my coffee so it was a no-brainer. We opted for some food as well, however being a little torn we chose quickly and ended up with a croissant which was so buttery and delicious, egg, cheese & avocado sauce. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the avocado aoili because there was just a bit too much and it was very garlicky. If I didn't have things to do for the rest of the day it would have been different but I just felt a little funky fresh and it overpowered the simple pleasures of the croissant. Lesson learned. I'm more of a classic croissant lover so no need to add any sauces next time. Surely others would adore the spread, it just wasn't for me. I loved the fun shapes the cappuccinos started to swirl into over a little bit of time. Hot air balloon, say what! Hit up this spot for something new with a pleasant scene & ALL THE CAFFEINE. "You thought I was feeding you?" - Ice Spice The coffee here is decent. What sets them apart from Cleveland's crowded coffee scene is their food menu. They serve sandwiches and even crepes. Unfortunately, the employees can just decide they don't want to serve food that day. I'm fine with a window where food isn't served, just set the expectation. Instead it's like impromptu comedy. Jokes on you. Between this and their sub optimal parking situation, you have other options. There is another cafe that does crepe really well in the area. LOVE! I work in the adjoining building so I stopped in yesterday for a breakfast treat. I was immediately met with a friendly greeting and a warm, sweet smell. I'm not a coffee drinker, but it was so lovely to smell. The guy behind the counter showed me the menu and described the breakfast croissant which was as delicious as he made it sound. Fresh cracked egg, flaky croissant, diced ham, fresh dill all baked together for a decadent breakfast. I also added a large berry tea which was fabulous. Not the biggest fan. First off let me tell you the staff was Extra sweet and kind. My husband is gluten free and they offered to whip him up a gluten free crepe. He enjoyed the sauce, but the rest of the food was just average. My breakfast croissant was ok. The eggs tasted like they were very watered down so not a lot of flavor, the garlic sauce was garlicky, and I think they forgot my cheese - but whatever. I ordered a Vanilla Hazelnut iced latte - which I thought was delicious! My husband ordered a Honey Bee Latte, which he did not care for - maybe because he's not a "real" coffee drinker. Ha ha Even though we ordered all our food/drinks to go, they put on dine in plates and cups - the coffee was super fun and fancy in its design, but I had to asked them to put everything in to go containers - but no biggie! One of my favorite Cafes in downtown Lakewood. If you are not aware of how tasty @caffeine_lakewood is your missing out. I love there vanilla lavender latte and salmon croissant... it's there spin on lox's and Bagels , but I prefer a buttery delicious croissant any day. They don't just stop at croissants they have a variety of waffles to choose from that can be topped with anything your heart desires. Stopped by for a quick treat at this super cute coffee joint post run at Lakewood park for some fresh air during this crazy time. Service- I appreciate when small businesses go out of their way to stay open and adapt to restrictions and social distancing practices. These guys have got it down- they have a 3 customer at a time limit while in the store, but you can also order ahead and pickup to save time if you want. Apple Pay accepted, quick service overall, and friendly employees. Ambience- really modern/artsy vibe inside. The shop itself is spacious and has a lot of different types of seating from couches to bar type seating to small coffee tables for two. It's a perfect space for studying, a casual date, or business meeting (whenever we can all get together again, sigh). Coffee- I tend to go for more frou frou drinks like lattes and frozen things rather than straight up coffee. I had an amazing mocha frappe (which undoubtedly cancelled out my workout) which was not overly sweet, had just the right amount of espresso, and was topped with a small dollop of whipped cream. I had a latte in the past which was also great, and you can tell from the way they craft the drinks that that they take pride in their work. The whole experience feels much more personal than the mass made latte from your typical Starbucks. They also have a lot of lunch items which looked yummy, and dessert crepes/waffles as well- will have to come back again to try! I came to see what the hype was about. My rating was more for the cozy fireplace/sofa seating and the lavender latte was decent. As with most places in Lakewood, there is no parking lot. So, after securing street parking a few streets away and walking in the cold, I was looking forward to a hot drink. (Note: meter parking is free on weekends so its the best time to dine in Lakewood.) I arrived and stood at the counter for awhile. I realized there was only one employee working/making sandwiches, but I was surprised at the zero acknowledgment. A simple 'hi, I'll be right with you' is enough to show you actually care about a customer. Finally, a gentleman came out from the back and the sandwich maker gal asked him to help me. I decided on the avocado toast and lavender latte. I had hoped for my drink in a nice ceramic mug (as seen in many photos), but I was told they only do paper cups currently. (Strange because as I was eating later, I saw an older gentleman go up and return his ceramic mug of coffee he just enjoyed.) Why waste all these paper cups? Why do some people get paper and others get ceramic? These are questions we'll never know the answer to! The service was extremely slow. From taking the order to actually getting the food, it was maybe 30 minutes. Back to the food - the avocado toast was basic. The bread felt raw and needed to be toasted/heated up. A thin spread of avocado, a bit stingy with the few tomatoes, and then drowning in feta cheese. It didn't seem like much effort was put into it. I think I make fancier avocado toast at home! The latte was tasty, but a little sloppy with the overall appearance. Overall, maybe good just for a quick latte to go. Seating is spacious. There is free wifi and restrooms are available. The shop is attached to the same complex that houses Panera Bread and Sauce. I hope the employees put more attention on the customers and the food preparation or they can hire one more person to assist. This may improve the overall experience from what I saw today. read more

This time around I tried the honey bee Latte with soy milk and the salmon croissant. Loved the note of cinnamon in the latte, but it was just a little to sweet for my taste. (Will ask them to adjust next time) The salmon croissant and side salad made a perfect light lunch. I loved that no individual flavor was overpowering and I could taste every ingredient in each bite of the croissant. The addition of sliced lemons was unique and refreshing. The salad was also bright with the light homemade lemon dressing. Looking forward to trying out macadamia milk in my next drink! read more

What a cute place !!!! I went to Caffeine to get meet some co-workers and this was the perfect setting. Enough room for me and my stroller to fit at most of the tables and they have this beautiful seating area right in front of a fire place. I got the croissant and crème brûlée latte ! This crème brûlée was AMAZING ! Not too sweet but not super strong . The perfect mix . They even were nice enough to provide hot water for me to warn up a bottle for my son. I recommend for meetings or going to get work done! Parking is a little tricky because of all of the current construction but plenty of street parking a street over. read more

Came for the coffee, stayed for the food. This was our second time here. First time we tried the Honey Bee Latte and the Canadian Maple Latte. Both were good but i liked the maple more. This time we tried the PSL and the Salted Caramel Mocha. Not too sweet and unlike other coffee shops the Pumpkin was not overwhelming and didn't take away from the coffee flavor. We also ordered the chicken toast and chicken crepe. Toast was good but the crepe was amazing. Their portions are bigger than we expected and prices are very reasonable.
