I have to be honest, I've been intimidated for way too long to walk into here since it's located within a vape shop but today I decided to get over that and take a step inside. Oh boy, am I upset I haven't walked into here sooner! Burning river is clean, it has an extensive menu, the staff is so friendly, and all around good vibes. I got an iced Honey Nut latte and it was phenomenal! They have an insane looking bakery selection and it took everything inside of me to not order a cinnamon roll... I will next time! You also have the ability to add CBD in your drinks if that's how you like it which is one of the things that sets BRC apart from the rest. Definitely stop by here when you get a chance, well worth it, delicious, and wonderful!

Local, friendly staff and even better coffee! Burning River Coffee is the best of two worlds, combining love of caffeinated beverages, bakery and local businesses. The space is huge and inviting, if you need to pick up vape products along the way then this is definitely your go to place. The coffee and tea selection is a must, hand brewed with attention to detail. The quality of beans doesn't go unnoticed. I opted for a chai, extra hot and full of spice. It was one of the best I've had. Of course I couldn't resist the bakery case, cookies were chewy and fresh (no pic I ate it a little too fast), the blonde was full of chips and caramel, a nice touch especially when it was warmed up. And I couldn't leave without purchasing a few keto friendly items, great selection if you are into that thing! So if you looking for basic black coffee or a fashion forward frothy beverage head to this Lakewood gem. You can linger at the tables or grab and go, your choice.

Latte With Almond Milk And Hemp Bar

A cool place for coffee and CBD. Burning River is the best coffee in Lakewood. It strangely is located in a vape shop. Cool of course. They have coffee and hemp based products. Go to the back of Cleveland Vape to find it. It shares the same building so you can also buy vape stuff. The counter is tucked away in the corner where there's some CBD snacks to sort through. Order coffee at the counter. They have a small menu because it's a small place. Has some non dairy milks. These include almond and soy. Coffee includes things like cappuccinos and lattes. It's about $3.50 for a medium. This doesn't include the added milk. Also they have Hemp Bars. It's about $3 each. These are made with lots of hemp protein. It's not enough to get you high. They are pretty healthy at least. I would come here again. Place to get coffee and vape products. This is a cool concept and they have a good staff.

Vegan doughnuts

Vegan doughnuts!!! Need I say more?! I happened to run across a shared post on Facebook that mentioned they had vegan doughnuts. I literally called right then and there to see if they still had some and drove up! And I wasn't disappointed. From the phone call to ordering in person, the gentleman (I believe he's the owner) that assisted me was so friendly and helpful. I tried the lemon crumble raspberry filled doughnut and Fruity Pebble doughnut. They were both delicious! The jelly filled one was definitely a winner in my book! For someone with a dairy allergy, vegan doughnuts are always a welcomed treat. I will be back!!!

I've known about Burning River Coffee for a while but never stopped in. I think it was some combination of pandemic + parking situation + its in a vape shop (and I don't vape). Because of the street parking, it can be hit-or-miss when it comes to finding a good spot. So obviously when I was driving by and saw a spot right out front, I snagged it! This was a while ago, and even early on in the pandemic, I was immediately pleased with how clean the location was and how they followed safety protocols. When you live with chronic pain you kind of already try to put CBD in everything. So coming across a menu where you can boost mostly anything with CBD is pretty nice! I was so surprised at how big and interesting their coffee menu is. I agree with Hope S. - should've came in here sooner. They have a small seating area that blends in with the vape shop but for me it's more of a grab-and-go place. The staff was extremely helpful and excited to talk about their most popular drinks, which made me excited to order! I ordered a plain coffee with CBD and it hit the spot. I'll be back.

Case of baked goods and pup treats
Katie H.

This place was amazing! A hidden gem nestled inside a CBD store. Staff was so friendly and helpful and they have a wide variety of tasty coffee options. They even offer pup cups for your furry friends! Their most popular is the peanut butter mocha (tastes like a melted Reese's, apparently) but I opted for an oat milk cappuccino. They had a plethora of flavor options too...I got sugar free raspberry and it was soooo good. Reasonably priced too! They also have a selection of baked goods including vegan donuts. I tried a cinnamon sugar and it was the perfect density for me. Definitely recommend checking them out!

Very helpful employee both in the coffee shop with baked good choices and in looking at various vaporizer devices. Friendly and knowledgeable. I had a fantastically amazing peanut butter chocolate latte which was the perfect drinking temperature. They also have baked goods like coffee crumb cake, cookies, peanut butter krispy bars, etc. The pb crispy bar was hard and not great.

My first time here yesterday afternoon and I loved it! All this time I'd pass by thinking cool sign, but wasn't sure if it was a vape shop or coffee shop since they are in the same space. Stop in! The right side really is a coffee shop! The nicest staff and excellent drinks. The person working there suggested a White Chocolate Raspberry latte (since it's her favorite) and boy was it good! That hint of raspberry was so perfect! I'm impressed by the artwork... the CLE skyline in a cup? Clever! There is no seating, but most people grab coffee to go and head out. You'll have to find street parking... as with most places in Lakewood. They sell a variety of coffees, teas, lattes and service with a smile! Stop by and check out this local spot soon. So glad I finally stopped by.

I wanted to try to find something different and found them on Yelp. I saw review pictures for two drinks that looked good. A peanut butter mocha drink and a white Raspberry drink. I asked what was better. They both thought the cold peanut butter mocha was good. So I tried that in the nondairy form. Unfortunately I was not a fan of it due to the powdery taste to it. I only drank a few sips of it and had to get rid of it. The staff was very friendly. I may have to taste a different drink to see.

Peanut butter mocha

I am in love with Burning River Coffee. I am from out of state and will be coming here every time I visit from now on! The peanut butter mocha is out of this world and I wish I could have it at home!!!

Bourbon Vanilla Latte with almond milk. Amazing.

I was envisioning a chill, slower-paced, comfy, lowkey bar or lounge to have conversations and interesting drinks after dinner with coworkers and friends. Nothing nearby fit the bill except this (genius idea!) place and it was absolutely perfect for the vibe and ambiance of what I was looking for! It was a relaxing, well lit, spacious but still intimate, tidy but still unique area to hang in. I ordered a make it yourself blend of a calming kratom, pineapple juice and raspberry flavor. It was fantastic and the S size in a mason jar was perfect. It tasted a bit like green tea mixed with botanicals and juice. My friend got the blue lotus drink with pineapple juice but it was kind of bland, earthy with only a tiny hint of sweetness. My other friend got a coffee...with lavender syrup because she's bonkers and also was too chicken to try kratom. It wasn't too loud but there was someone playing piano pretty badly (maybe on purpose) that surprisingly wasn't too distracting. We had a great time and I would definitely come back.

I first visited in July 2024 because I was in the area. I ordered a Lavender Earl Grey tea to-go…read more(takeaway order). The tea was fine because I'm used to a stronger lavender flavour. I added a little sweetener that they had available (I think raw sugar) and took my tea to go. I got to sample a little Kava and Kratom upon walking in because I had never tried them before. The employee explained what they were to me because I had never heard of them. They are supposed to help with anxiety, stress, and mood. Kava is a root and Kratom comes from the leaves of a specific tree so both are essentially plants. After sampling them, both tasted very bitter to me so I didn't like it which is fine (haha). The Kava had a dirt or grainy texture and the kratom had a lighter but more bitter flavour. The employee did mention to me that both would taste bitter and earthy. I did not order any drinks with them upon sampling them but they sell an assortment of drinks that include Kava and Kratom. Customer service was friendly. If you like Kava and Kratom or want to try it then come visit this Sacred Waters Kava bar in Lakewood. It's not my preference. The male employee working told me that they used to be affiliated with the other Kava bar in Cleveland (North Olmsted location, I think) but they are no longer affiliated with that location as the business partners stopped working together. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 69/150 total reviews in 2024 - 719 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 18 July 2024

I bought some Guardians Cold Brew, which was good, but not necessarily what I wanted... But here is my review on the items that they could actually control. My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite for lunch, we were pleasantly surprised to be able to walk right up to the counter to order our lunch as no one else was at the counter at lunch time on a Tuesday! I order some kind of egg white sandwich on an everything bagel, and he ordered a Pesto Chicken Sandwich on a GF Tortilla wrap. 20 minutes later.....we received out order: My egg sandwich was ok - but because it was only egg whites, I discovered that I really like the yolks! The bagel itself was ok, but tasted like a plain bagel. I had never heard of the place they get their bagels from (Bialy's bagels) so I looked it up and discovered that they are closed Monday-Tuesday, so wondering if my lack of flavor was because these were older bagels from a Sunday delivery?? My husband's Pesto Chicken Sandwich did not have any Pesto - so he inquired and was told that they "ran out" of Pesto, but they offered him some kind of chipotle sauce, which he enjoyed. Being GF, I feel he always has to settle - but he did not settle here - he LOVED his sandwich and cannot wait to go back.

It's the only Albanian cafe in Ohio. I visited after hearing about this cafe from friends. Shortly thereafter it really trended on Instagram. AMBIANCE: The cafe is simple and spacious. There are two dining rooms that can serve various customers - high tables for solo guests, tables for two or large parties. Many guests prefer the patio. The location is on a picturesque street with a lot of trees and nature. It's a relaxing experience. In many ways it's just an average cafe - large windows, exposed brick walls, and coffee aroma. I other ways, it's incredibly authentic. Guests watch Albanian soccer or linger on the patio. The combination of soccer and cafe feels very cool and very Balkan. At the heart of the place is a wall with hand carved Albanian art and well recognized Albanian eagle. It's interesting to gaze at these fragments of culture and appreciate the artistry. FOOD: I was surprised by the very budget-friendly bill. I purchased Turkish coffee and two bureks totaling about $12. I did not feel as though Turkish coffee was very authentic - too many grounds, and too acidic. It also did not have the usual awakening effect that I was going for. Bureks are traditional Balkan pastries with cheese and spinach. I selected two varieties and liked them. They were gold, savory, and just right for a light lunch. It was explained to me that bureks are very popular in Albania. The rest of the menu featured various coffees, wine, and small sweet bites. SERVICE: You can start your experience at this cafe by ordering at the counter, sitting down, and paying at the end. The service was great for a casual cafe. The cafe employee was attentive to my needs, checked on small things like my sugar needs. It was evident that most guests are regulars reconnecting with their culture. I enjoyed the bureks, the hospitality, and the location. I had a lovely little lunch at the cafe. I'd probably stop at some point during the summer to enjoy the patio and other coffee selections.
