Got to the dentist this morning, and turns out I was an hour early. The gal at the front desk had a tray of coffees that looked amazing - asked where she got them, and she said Caffeine Queens in Lakeside about 5 miles away -.everyone loves them, so brought them in as a treat. Since I had an hour to kill, figured I'd check it out. It's just a drive-through coffee shop, but great menu, and the coffee is amazing! I got the Cinnamon roll -?-an iced latte w/ brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, cream, and vanilla cold foam. Not too sweet, but SO flavorful! The best coffee I've had in a long time! They also have açaí bowls and baked goods, and service was super friendly. Totally recommend! read more

The coffee was cold And the woman taking the order was short and seemed very unhappy. Been wanting to give this place a chance for a while and it wasn't a great impression. They also said four dollars even and took the last dollar and stuffed it in the tip jar without even trying to hand it back. I was going to give it to them anyway but I've never had that happen to me before where they just took it without asking. The woman taking our order stormed off and left after the order. The other two working there were nice but the overall experience was bad. If you're going to run a small business customer service might be something to focus on. As for the coffee, for four dollars it was not any better than Starbucks and the employees at the local Starbucks are wonderful people that have always been super nice. I think they could do better. Everyone wants to talk about small business and promoting them and hate on Starbucks but all the people I've met that work there are wonderful. Also the red barn has been great over the years. I love supporting small businesses like this!! I always get the blended drinks and sometimes the açaí bowl which is delicious. They are quick and love how it's a drive thru. Service is good and they get your drink out to you fast. Sometimes there is a long line and at times there is no line at all. Checked them out during their "soft opening". Line was lengthy when we got in line about 9th car in line. We we left it was around 18 cars inline. Downside is it is drive through only, and with gas prices it adds up quickly waiting. The car at the window when we got in line took a good 15 mins or so, after that car left the line moved at a decent pace. They had people alternating taking orders 3 cars away from the "window", upon reaching the window there was about 6 or so employees including one very nice older child. Seemed like the whole family is involved with the business. We got the "Off with your head", iced. This was a shocker to the people serving the coffee that the person who ordered it wanted it straight up. It was nice and strong with an unusual cereal after taste, but it was good. We also got the "Caramel Almond Royale" with a "cold foam crown". This drink was strong as well. The category the drink came under was "shaken" but it did appear most of the flavor syrup was on the bottom. Once the flavors melded it was much better, but really strong. They have an assortment of rotating pastries they say are from local bakers, they are not labeled so I am not sure what the local bakery is. We got the zucchini bread, it was a very thin slice maybe somewhere around 1/4 inch to 1/3 inch thick. It was dryer then I am used to and the flavor was rather bland, my partner on the other hand enjoyed it. It maybe that I am used to delicious homemade zucchini bread, unfortunately their's is not something I would order again. read more

I'm a day 1 for CQ & absolutely love everyone who works there. They will absolutely go out of their way, every time, to ensure you have a good experience. I love that they are involved in our Lakeside community, too. My go tos are their redbull infusions(Glass slipper and fruity pebbles are my faves) and my kids love their Italian sodas(peach & vanilla with cream - you're welcome) and açaí bowls! If you have dogs, make sure to get their pupaccinos! It is drive thru which makes it very convenient during my drop off/pick up routes. They also offer mobile orders through their website to make for an even quicker trip. read more

Atmosphere 10/10 Customer service 10/10 with a smile and happy to give recommendations Pricing 9/10 Food & Drink 4/10 (based on what I ordered, not full menu) Personally, I don't like super sweet things and their iced chai vanilla lavender latte tasted like a breakfast cereal's left over milk with more sugar added to it. If you're into that, this place is for you! It was good just sugary. Their CQ Acai bowl is also very sugary. I love a nice acai bowl but oh my. If you want to feel healthy, skip out on the coconut flakes and get light honey on the acai bowl. I felt grains of sugar when I took my first bite and I think it was from their coconut flakes that had sugar on them. (UPDATE $17.63 not $22 something!) Pure sugar overload. These two items were $17.63 including tip. And I didn't eat or drink either one fully. I threw them out because of how sugary they were. I wish I was warned about how sugary everything was so I could make the necessary adjustments. I love honey that's perfect but feeling the grainy sugar is what turned me off. (My spending alert said $22.something and I thought it was towards this purchase) The reason I gave a 4/5 was because the customer service was amazing, the girl was a sweetheart and was willing to give recommendations, the menu was large, nice atmosphere, and their pricing was fair. This coffee gem drive thru (only) is located in lakeside right by the barbershop. Good coffee and pastries a little pricey. Vast variety of lattes/ coffees/ pastries/ teas/ energy infusion drinks. It might take a second to find, but once you see the line of cars by the side of the building, you will know you're in the right place. I got the shaken espresso *cinnamon bun. As a first time customer I have to say, its a fun little spot with a great selection to choose from! The barista was so sweet and courteous too. I had the pleasure of trying the Pineapple Upside Down Redbull Energy Infused drink. Me being the caffeine addict I am, of course I got the LARGE. When I took that first sip, let me tell you, I INSTANTLY looked at my husband and was like omg you HAVE to try this!!!!! He's not big on energy drinks but even he was like wow this is good and the creaminess is a nice touch. It was exactly what never knew I needed. I want to love you soso much! I've been coming back and it's still just frustrating that my drinks are never the same! Today I ordered a salted caramel mocha with extra caramel and there was zero caramel. The line was long and the kids that work here are so sweet so I didn't say anything. I regularly get honey vanilla matcha in the afternoon. Half the time there is a beautiful honey drizzle and the other half there is none. I'm not even sure what's the correct way but I got spoiled with the honey drizzle! I will continue to frequent even though I work for a national coffee chain and could get my stuff for free I love supporting local! I hate to do this! The service has gone downhill. I used to go every single day spending at least $10 -30 each time. Sundays are the worst days as the owner is there and everything is so slow! The service is slow, the chat is bad, and she nickel and times EVERYTHING! I get triple shot drinks and they throw away the fourth shot. After awhile baristas would say "hey we throw this out, do you want it?" The owner would rather the fourth shot be thrown out than given for free to a customer on occasion. Would the owner really rather lose a customer or a shot of espresso that she's throwing out anyway? The new hires are not friendly. I feel like so many high schoolers are hired and the service has gone downhill. The drinks are not consistent unless I specify that I want veteran baristas like favorites Nat and Sam. Because I am literally getting coffee pretty much daily (it has decreased in the past two weeks), I can say that those two baristas make the business run so smoothly and really bring a small town feel to customers. I think I made a 5 star review a couple weeks ago but now the service is really more like Starbucks less Lakeside small business. I go at all times of the day, I've really been observant and it is so sad to see this happen to a business I really love and supported so much. I wish they could go back to how things were, where the baristas asked about your day and chatted while they made your drink. Now it's very Gen Z and not in a cool way, actually in an apathetic way and the owner gets in her own way. She doesn't appear friendly or in love with her business. I've since been trying Kaffee Meister and the service is much more friendly. If I'm spending on average $15 a day at your business or $465 a month, that's a whole bill!
