Soggy bread scraps and a tiny sprinkle of unmelted shredded cheese is what you get in their French onion soup.

Server moved us from a nice shady 2top table to a 4top in full sun "for our comfort." Spoiler alert: it was not more comfortable. Ordered 2 French onion soups and 2 club sandwiches and they were not good (refer to pics). Easily the worst restaurant we went to during our 8 days in Paris.

After Basilica de Coeur, we stopped by here for some brunch. This area is filled with restaurants, majority of the customers being tourists. If you want a more authentic French food experience, walk a bit further to Rue de Martyrs because it's a street filled with cute shops and restaurants. The prices were a bit expensive, but then we saw how big the portions were! We ordered a croque madame and a caesar salad to share. The croque madame was EXTREMELY cheesy, a bit too much for me (and I LOVE cheese). The caesar salad was solid, you can definitely tell it's catered towards Americans. The service was a bit rude - I sensed attitude probably cause we were taking a while deciding what we wanted to order (and cause we didn't speak French) and we had to keep asking for water even though there was barley anyone in the restaurant.

Lamb Shank!

Just got to Paris and checked into our Hotel. It's getting late so decided to stop here for Dinner. Very cute place and seems quintessential French. Had a beautiful Cheese plate and Foie Gras pâté. Very nice. Split the Lamb shank. It was good but desperately under seasoned. Salt worked wonders. It's not over priced for the area. The problem I had was the service was horrible. Horrible! So if they could get some new staff it might be a great place.

My first ever French restaurant experience was here! This place was wonderful! Staff were really friendly and courteous to our group. We struggled with the French menu at first but everything was also in English which was helpful! I loved the atmosphere and the food was great. For 15.50 euros I got a pasta entree and a crepe.

Came here for lunch on our way to the Basilica. Service was good but food was not up to par. Ribeye was the toughest steak we had in Paris even though we splurged for the ribeye. Escargot was okay and not very hot or tasty. Saw few people sending back their onion soup to be hotter. Bathroom was out of order so you had to go across the street to another cafe.

The atmosphere was nice and casual. I had a great view with a decent amount of sunlight, in front of an open window. I ordered a formula, which is similar to a combination. You had the choice of an appetizer and a main dish or a main dish and a dessert. For my appetizer, I ordered the french onion soup, which was subpar. The bread pieces were large which was enjoyable , but the onions were minced and almost non existent. The serving size was large and I do believe I got a good deal. This soup by itself was 7,50 €. I also ordered the spaghetti bolognese which was akin to lunchroom spaghetti and meat sauce. Very under-seasoned and bland, even with the addition of salt and pepper. The waitress did speak English which made communicating very easy , but unfortunately , the service was extremely slow. I would save your time and money by dining else where.

Love this place! Djay is a great person and a beautiful soul I recommend this to everyone visiting as a great place to relax after a sunset at Sacre Coure

Just after a quick downpour...back outside to finish off our two carafes of wine.

Café Chappe was the perfect place to grab a bite and relax after taking the train to Paris from London. My hotel was just a few blocks away and it was on the way down the hill from Sacré-Cœur. Their menu offerings and free wi-fi drew me in. The chill atmosphere, outdoor seating and just-the-right-amount-of-busy intersection sealed the deal. I grabbed a table outside (even with the threatening clouds above), ordered a carafe of red wine and a Croque Madame and got the wi-fi password. I was in a small state of bliss. The wi-fi worked, the wine was excellent and cheap and the croque madame was insanely good. It's hard to beat a ham and cheese sandwich that is cooked to perfection and topped with an egg. And the prices here are excellent. Cheap and good...that's how I like it. It started to pour, we ran inside, a waiter cleared off a high-top table and let us chill there until the rain passed. I couldn't have been more pleased with the atmosphere, service, food and quality of the wi-fi...I could even FaceTime home to the US on my iPhone while I was there. Definitely worthy of your time, money and appetite.

This is the meal deal me u board; choose one option from 2 groups (not one from all three groups).

Location is nice, we ate outside to enjoy the weather and seating was comfortable. Our server was nice and very helpful; we don't know French that well and we got along fine. The food was just OK, not very flavorful. Everything was clean. We would not go back simply because there are so many other options. I got the avocado salad (way too much dressing) but not too bad and the salmon pasta which was not very good; it also only had about 1oz of shredded salmon throughout. My wife's cheese toast salad was interesting and also fine.

Bad cafeteria food. Two meals for 50 EUR! It was sooo overpriced. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Hygiene is to be desired. The place feels more like a bar than a restaurant. The onion soup is decent.

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
