This was my first meal after landing in France. The food and the service was top notch. They have a great wine selection the steak was tender and juicy. They were very patient with my picky family and the interior is beautiful. No master where you sit, inside or outside, you can see the bustling city in motion.
There are a multitude of great dining options in the City of Light, it's funny that we came twice to the same place. But, why mess with a good thing? We had an excellent experience for a reasonable price the first time, so we came back again. It was spectacular both times. The first time, I had a perfectly prepared filet with a nice char. But, a note: "medium" comes back as medium rare (the waiter didn't understand what "medium rare" meant); "well done" comes back as a medium. We figured this out, and ordered medium. My wife's mom was less happy that her "well done" steak came back as medium. The baby potatoes were simple but tasty, with a nice salt crust. The string beans were also simple but nicely prepared. We also got some of the best French bread we've ever had. The drinks are massive and cheap, no matter what you order. Day 2, I ordered duck breast, which was beautifully prepared, like a steak. It came with the same amazing potatoes and a tiny salad served with the meal. The dressing was a nice vinaigrette, but it made the salad soggy. For some reason, we were still hungry, so we got two of the dozen or so excellent desserts. The chocolate mousse was rich and had chunks of chocolate in it. The creme brûlée was flawless...but this is France, so I expected no less. We ate every bite of both. Some warnings for American travelers: 1) the coffee will likely be an espresso unless you specify otherwise; 2) the smoking section (yes, they do have those here) is in the same room as the tiny non-smoking area (there are fans, which help); 3)the toilet situation is somewhat communal. Let me explain: there's one door, and the urinal is behind a beaded curtain; there is a stall with a door, and a common sink, all for men and women. If you're squeamish, then go somewhere else. Despite the minor gripes, we will probably be back again. It's just that good here.
A cute little brasserie not far from the Catacombs. The neighborhood seemed to have a lot more locals than tourists, which always creates a pleasant atmosphere. I'm a huge far of the steak tartare and appreciate that they offer so many different varieties. Soupe à l'oignon: Very generous amount of cheese. So much so that there were shredded bits floating around in the soup, in addition to the big topping of gratinée. The broth was so savory. The bread itself was a little too hearty for my liking, making it difficult to break up with a spoon. Foie Gras: The cold spreadable variety of foie gras. Quite fatty and intense; the pickled onions did a great job countering the richness. Escargot: Tender and chewy, covered in tons of garlic, butter and green sauce. Some of the escargot were a bit tough to extract, but that's all part of the fun. Once again, wish they offered a lighter bread on the table since the hearty whole grain one didn't pair that well. Tartare de Boeuf Aveyronnais: Loved the large tender chunks of beef; it seemed hand chopped. Had the traditional flavorings plus bleu cheese and walnuts. I was neutral on the walnuts, but loved the bleu cheese addition, a great way to zing up the steak.
Chez Felicie, is awesome. Let me start by saying that service here was very good. Very friendly and attentive. As in most French restaurants food is not rushed out and you will be here for a while so get yourself a bottle of wine or 2 if you have some friends and order a few appetizers because they take their time. I had the French onion soup and also ordered a tuna tartare that was very good. For the main course we asked what they would recommend and they said that they are known for their beef tartare (raw steak). Eventhough this steak is raw, it does take some preparation and seasonings to make this a unique dish, which it was. It comes served with French fries and it made a good combination with the tartare. Also ordered the fish special among other dishes like croque madame. The fish of the day was fresh cod and it was the best thing we had. Crunchy skin and cooked perfectly in a very light white wine butter sauce. Delicious! We were part of a big group of friends that wanted to come and have some drinks and eat. They were very good in accommodating all of us without problem or reservations. (The restaurant does get pretty packed). Prices are very reasonable. Nothing was expensive.
As a final dinner of our amazing vacation, we decided on this spot after our walk through the catacombs. There was plenty of seating, but note that if you do sit outside I believe smoking is everywhere so yeah. The ambiance here is just like any other Parisian restaurant, relaxed. Slow down and just enjoy life type of experience. We ordered a glass of wine and then an appetizer. We ordered the foie gras to start. The foie gras was great, however the amount of bread to eat it with was definitely not enough. I felt that it lacked the amount to eat with the foie gras as it was pretty tasty and flavorful. I felt the three pieces of toast was not enough. Just note, if you do get it, that you maybe order a basket of bread or something along those lines. Now for entrees, we ordered duck confit and a duck leg. Both were flavorful and well cooked. It came with a side of potatoes along with some salad. There was not much to say, other than that the duck leg was only one leg, but it was crispy and filling. Dessert we got a creme brulee, and it was pretty awesome as always. There are plenty of options and if you're not sure on what you want, a waiter will come and let you view all of the options so you have an idea of what the dessert looks like and explain it to you if you have any questions. I think this was really neat compared to any other restaurant that I have ever been to. Overall, the ambiance and service was great. I would definitely recommend people to come here to eat if you were just at the catacombs. The foie gras lacks the bread, but everything else made up for it and definitely try out a dessert!

The manager Julian was so hospitable and answered every question that we had about the food because I couldn't read French. Some places do not care to help English speakers with this but he more then accommodated us with his superb service. We had a few options to dine at but we definitely found the location that was meant for us. If we weren't leaving Paris the next day I would have returned to try another dish because it's not always easy to find a good menu and great service at the same location. If you have doubts please lose them and give this place a shot.
We had an amazing experience at Felicie for our anniversary. We didn't share that it was our anniversary as we wanted to have a low profile dinner. It was amazing. The entire experience, from getting seated immediately, the menu was well explained and all the specialties they have. The manager, Julien, was the one helping us and he was just amazing. He spoke English, which was great because we didn't speak much French. Its mostly a locals place, as we were the only foreigner for the three hours we spend there. We had salmon and escargot for an appetizers, both were great. The bottle of wine that Julien recommended was delicious. The huge ribeye steak was cooked to perfection and so juice and tender. It was the best steak we have had in a long time, possibly ever (still debating on this one). We also had desert which was tasty. The entire experience has been amazing and hands down the best food we have had in Europe so far. I highly recommend Felicie for a super authentic French experience.
Duck confit with fried potatoes €14.9. Everything was really good. The duck and potatoes were cooked well. (4/5) Beef carpaccio €12.5. The carpaccio was a bit plain, but the capers added a nice saltiness to it. The bread was hard and was difficult to eat with the carpaccio. Pesto was just plain pasta, not much taste to it. (3/5) Hubby really enjoyed his mango mojito. Waiters were nice and knew English. Prices are decent. Seems like most people just ordered drinks rather than food on a Thursday around 6, 7pm.
Cool looking local spot. Croissants were excellent. Server attentive and friendly. Prices fair.

This spot was close to our hotel, making it easy for a quick bite after our flight. It's traditional french cuisine, so you can get your fill of escargot or whatever your heart desires. Everything was so good, I highly recommend. They even have some American staples for anyone who might be a pickier eater. read more

Decided to give this place a try because it was near the airbnb I was staying in and I was pleasantly surprised. Our server was polite and knowledgable and didn't seem to mind that our French was minimal/broken. I had the duck confit which came with a side salad and potatoes. The duck was very tender and crispy and besides the potatoes being a tad salty, my meal was very satisfactory. The prices were also reasonable and the location was very convenient and easy to find. Would definitely recommend this place for those visiting Paris! read more
Duck confit and fried potatoes and salad was average to kinda good. The duck was a little dry and flavor was nothing special. However, I recommend this place if you're in the area because service is quick, efficient and nice here!! My waiter spoke good English and was very pleasant. Free wifi. I was given a bottle of tap water without request and some popcorn before my food came. My glass of wine was good. Ambience was nice and warm. Sit inside if you don't want 2nd hand smoke. Seems like a popular place for both local and tourists. read more

I don't know how to say in French, but what I ordered could be considered chicken pasta. The pasta was heavily oiled and the chicken was okay; thus, the dish does not have much flavor. I tried other plates in my group, and I have to say the potatoes are one of the best I've ever tasted - fries or small potatoes. I wish I would've have gotten something else like a burger with potatoes, which I've heard was good. Overall, my chicken dish looked better than it tastes, but I had a fine dining experience by sampling other plates. read more

I spent a month in Paris recently, staying in an apartment a few doors down from this warm, friendly cafe. I was there almost every day, either for breakfast (eggs, bacon, baguette, Croissant and hot tea for less than you'd pay for a Happy Meal) or dinner (they make a great steak). On top of the good food, reasonable prices, and friendly service, they have fantastic free Internet. They were my life-line to my family back home. Within days, I felt like a regular. They welcomed me warmly and knew my ordering preferences so it felt like I had been coming there for years. I wish I could have packed the cafe in my suitcase and brought it home with me. read more

This was the best meal I've had in Paris and possibly even my life. Ordered the duck breast with fried potatoes and a glass of the Riesling. I fell in love with their potatoes: perfectly cooked and seasoned. The duck was delicious and cooked well (medium). The sauce that comes with it is equally delish! The best part is that it was 300 feet away from our airbnb :) read more
