Excellent stop for lunch! We were in town for the Olympics and trying to find a tasty lunch spot near the Olympic rings at Bastille that would have great French food but also work ok for kids. All the Yelp review were out of date so I'm adding one here! Great lunch specials if you're here on a weekday. We had steak and frites with an appetizer or dessert for 18€. They also have great kids menus for 14€ that include a drink and ice cream. And lastly, if your kids are looking to try escargot, this is a great place to give it a try. Lovely Parisian bistro and even lovelier staff. Merci Chez Margot!

Lovely time at this restaurant. The outside patio at night is darling and the food/wine delicious. Very kind service.

Great tasty food, great service and great atmosphere. I stumbled upon this restaurant while roaming the streets of Paris. They had many options for food and drinks. Overall was a pleasant experience.

They were understaffed in March. Two ladies running all the tables for dinner time but I'm understanding. I ordered escargot and it was so good here. Bread was also delicious. Conveniently located near my hostel so it was walking distant

All we had was escargot but it was very good. Service was excellent, VERY friendly servers. Went above and beyond with recommendations for activities in the area.

Chez Margot is a wonderful French café/bistro with delicious food and drinks and outstanding service. We had at least one meal there each day of our 5-day stay in Paris since it was near our hotel in the Marais (4th Arrondissement). The waiters and waitresses were all thoughtful, kind and a joy to interact with. They all spoke English without being condescending. They welcome French if you so choose. My wife and I tried and shared several dishes, including onion soup, escargots, the black angus steak with frites, the vegetarian Buddha Bowl (quinoa, fried tofu, tomatoes, avocados, cucumbers and other veggies complemented with a light dressing), and a grilled chicken breast with a light salad and fries called PAILLARD DE POULET MARINÉ AU CITRON - FRITES. All were very good. For beverages, I enjoyed their Aperol Spritz, Côtes du Rhône house red wine, and cognac. My wife requested a Spritz with Limoncello and Prosecco even though it was not a drink on the menu. We both enjoyed the Lillet Blanc over ice or neat. Needless to say, I highly recommend Chez Margot. Many Parisiens who I understand were regulars were dining near us on each occasion as well as many tourists from around the world. Those are telling facts in my book. Enjoy this welcoming neighborhood place in the heart of Paris, and you too may become a regular visitor.

We tried this place based on other Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Service was prompt. Food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our night!

He has a steak, I have a Chèvre chaud salad, and the dessert we shared is a profiterole géante.

Everything was great. The waitress and waiter were nice, the food was delicious. We had wine, drinks, dessert and the total was 112 euros. The atmosphere was cozy on a rainy night.

Very friendly service and delicious food - my husband had a bacon cheeseburger (which is how it is listed on the menu), and I had a simple pan-fried chicken dish with fries, which was listed as paillard du poulet marine au citron. Wonderful and full of locals.

Servers were friendly and attentive. The food came out quick and was delicious. Came back a second time while visiting in Paris.

Oh my. Where do I begin. The atmosphere is swanky and chill. The wine list is out of this world. And now rte menu...yummy. I am happy that I took a stroll past here. Tonight I had a yummy sautéed mushrooms with a poached egg, creamy risotto with gambas, then a tarte tartine. The owner is sweet. I will be back whenever my heart leads me back to Paris again.

I live in the neighborhood and eat here once or twice a week as a convenient and reliable place for decent French food and friendly service (but they know me). Today was a disaster, which I generally would not post because it could be an aberration. The cheeseburger was the worst I've ever had. It's impressive enough at a distance: tall, meaty patty, melting cheese, an attractive bun, and a slice of bacon on top. That's where the glamor ends. Where to start with the problems? First, the bun is about 30% more bread than necessary. Not only is the complete package so large that it's hard to eat, but you end up with a mouthful of bread that erases any meat flavor. Second, the meat was obviously cooked hours earlier and left to grow cold (under "warming lights"). Yuck. Third, I ordered "medium rare"; the (cold) patty was medium. Third, the bacon was similarly afflicted: cooked hours before, the fat had congealed. Unappealing. Fourth, on July 4, 2022, in the midst of summer, one expects ripe red tomatoes. This burger came with the anemic pink unfortunates that are served in winter. Saving grace: a wonderful waitress who immediately sensed the problem and whisked it away, saying, "I know, it's not good." Props to her!

My first restaurant I visit during my trip to Paris! We didn't not get food, but we did get a drink and if we are eating this place on service alone, it's a 10/10. The language barrier wasn't too bad and our server tried his best with English and we tried our best with French and made it work!

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

We started with the ratatouille and freshly baked bread, both simple but incredibly well executed and full of depth. The duck steak with roasted potatoes was perfectly cooked--the duck tender with a beautifully crisp exterior, and the potatoes were exceptional in their own right. The gambas flambées with rice were a standout dish: rich, aromatic, and genuinely memorable. For dessert, the chocolate mousse paired with strawberry soup was a highlight and a unique combination that worked surprisingly well together--the richness of the mousse balanced beautifully by the freshness of the strawberries. No real plans. Just walking. Cigarette smoke in the air, scooters passing narrow streets, old stone buildings glowing under soft afternoon light. Online, this place feels impossible to book. But show up 10-15 minutes before opening and suddenly you're seated like you knew the secret all along. Inside, the room hums. Tight tables. Warm walls. Loud enough to feel alive without becoming chaotic. Nobody rushing. Nobody flipping tables. Just the rhythm of Paris doing what it's always done. The menu is entirely in French which, honestly, makes the experience better. You stop ordering with certainty and start ordering with curiosity. My wife had the risotto d'épeautre aux St. Jacques. I ordered the Magret de Canard au Romarin. The duck was solid. A 3.5/5 kind of dish. Rich, savory, comforting after a long day walking through the city. But the risotto surprised me more. The scallops were delicate, the spelt added this earthy texture that made the dish feel substantial without ever becoming heavy. And then there's the mousse au chocolat. The famous one. Served from an oversized bowl with this almost excessive "all you can eat" energy that somehow still feels elegant instead of gimmicky. We only needed a few bites. Soft, luxurious, lightly bitter chocolate balanced perfectly against just enough sweetness. The kind of dessert that doesn't ask for attention. It quietly earns it.

Simple classic French cuisine. We shared the mini raviolis stuffed with mushroom and a foie gras sauce. Wow. And shared their famous beef bourguignon. The tender beef, the sauce! I love the way they plate it too. Delicious. And a bottle of Cabernet Franc from Bourgueil (Loire Valley). The second visit (3 star) was very different from the first visit. Less friendly, borderline rude, took a long while for table service even though it was not busy, rolled their eyes about us sharing and at our wine bottle selection. We didn't feel welcomed. Food remains good, but not outstanding. Roll of the dice on service. I'd say if you're in the area and you don't have to wait it'd be worthwhile, otherwise seek a less touristy spot.
