I stopped in to study and ended up having such a great experience. The owner was very kind and invited me to taste several menu items that will be launching next week. Everything was absolutely delicious. The chicken salad stood out with moist, perfectly cooked chicken, a fresh and unique sesame dressing, and a creative touch of mini savory beignet croutons that really elevated the dish. My favorite, though, was the salmon. It was fresh, well-seasoned, and paired beautifully with carrots, onions, and zucchini--simple, balanced, and done right. I'm in Miami about half the month for work, and this meal truly tasted like something home-cooked and fresh, which is such a treat when you're on the road. Coming from New Orleans--the home of Café du Monde--I have high standards for beignets, and this one did not disappoint. This place just open not too long ago and it definitely gives you great service with delicious food. Let's start with the service. Their service is top notch! Super nice and helpful staff. You can order to go or they can take your order at your seat. The Decor is very homie and relaxing feel to it. The place feels like your own living room. As for the pastries.... Cafe Fleur at Washington & 7th is such a gem. The vibe is groovy, warm, and honestly... it's hard to leave once you're there. Kim, Evaristo, Augustine, and Daniela make you feel so welcome, it's that kind of genuine, kind service you don't come across often. And the coffee... it's hard to stop at just one. Omg, melt in your mouth yummy goodness!!! My daughter and I popped in just to find a quick breakfast place and we landed in bakery heaven. Brioche was so fluffy, the beignets and the ham and cheese beignets were so delicious!!! We were greeted by a very friendly man that welcomed us with a nice smile! Good start. From the direction we were walking, it seemed a little hidden but they do have their own entrance. They share a space with a pizza spot. But we had our eyes set on the beignets since last night. They took our order of just 3 beignets. It took about 5 minutes because they fry them up fresh as the employee explained to us. They bagged them up with a small tray at the bottom so any residual oil wouldn't soak through the bag but now that I think about it, there wasn't very much extra oil that I noticed. There was a ton of powdered sugar! Yum. The beignets were nicely coated, warm, and pillowy. Like a little French hug. Ugh yum. 10 more please! They have a seasonal pumpkin flavored beignet. I think it said 2 of those for 10. (Vs 3 beignets for $5). I honestly don't have the greatest baseline for a beignet since not too many places sell them but I really enjoyed them! The store was small but cozy. Would've been nice to just sit and hangout with a cup of coffee but we had to run off to breakfast. What a treat! Highly recommend! My favorite of the breakfast places I ate at in Miami Beach, and there was pretty good competition. Let's start with the beignets. 3 for $5, add the pastry cream, served hot... need I say more? One and a half wasn't really enough, and I was a bit surprised that none of my friends took me up on the question of, "Would anyone like to split another order of beignets?", but I suppose they weren't burning as many calories in the water each day as I was. But it's not just beignets. The white chocolate scone was incredible. I'm usually more of a dark chocolate person so my expectations were modest, but my goodness, the white chocolate complemented the flakey croissant perfectly. Honestly, just as good as the beignets. My friends seemed happy with the coffee as well, and the atmosphere was nice - a slightly dark, open air coffee shop, not large, but with adequate seating for enjoying the delicious food. The beignets were not Cafe Du Monde but tasted as close as you can get outside of New Orleans. Worth going if you live nearby and love beignets. They don't cover in a massive amount of powdered sugar like at CDM but probably will if u ask. Also have several coffee selections and an adjoining cafe style restaurant in the same location and can sit outside, too.
