There were unexpected issues that arose during the reassembly phase of my initial service that were…read morethought to have been mitigated by replacement of a relay, but after taking the vehicle home I had a variety of strange error messages and difficulty with the car including such issues as unexpected enabling of the traction control system, messages to check engine that mysteriously cleared on their own, another service message that said to see the manual and required use of "limp home mode" which also mysteriously cleared afterward. I was unable to unlock the car except for using the key manually, and so forth. Upon returning to the shop, the technicians did a thorough review of the error messages and - due to a recurrence of battery related messages sprinkled throughout all the other error messages saved by the system - hypothesized that the issue was actually cascading from a failing battery. Although this was a coincidental occurrence in terms of timing, I was offered a really good quote on the cost of the battery and no labor costs for changing the battery. Since that time everything has operated perfectly. I am so extremely satisfied with the extra mile service provided by Sherrill Paint & Body and I would recommend them to anyone in need of paint & body work as they are hardworking, generous, and open about their repair process. Not to mention, the body work I initially went in for was completely flawlessly and the car was returned to me in such wonderful clean condition inside and out. I could not be happier with my experience.

I was quoted and paid $9,897 in cash under the clear impression that this covered the full job. When I picked up my car, it still had scratches and an entire unfinished patch on the roof. When I brought this up, I was told those areas "were not included in the estimate." This explanation is unacceptable. For nearly $10,000, no customer should walk away with visible, unaddressed damage--especially when I was upfront about wanting the complete body work done. I am hurt and extremely upset and feel as if my money was waisted I had to take another vehicle of mine to classic collision which is were my insurance referred me to 0 issues and they sent me daily updates and pictures of what the were doing so if you would like a better option then Classic Collision is were you should go Although the staff at homewood auto was polite, professionalism goes beyond manners. It means delivering what was promised and standing behind your work. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. I will not return to this business, nor will I recommend them to others. Customers deserve better accountability and integrity than what I experienced. They made it a point to understand what type of speaker upgrade I was looking for and they performed a sound check to identify what was required. I was concerned about taking the dash apart (factory speakers) because of the age of the vehicle. Once they recommended replacement speakers, I let them know that I could schedule an appointment for later to come in for the installation, but they were able to get the speakers and install them while I waited. They were very knowledgeable about the replacement process and the speakers sound great. This was something that I had wanted to do for a very long time and this shop made it happen quickly. Very disappointed with their business practice. Then they state that the repairs would the exceed value of vehicle to our insurance carrier, State Farm. I go to the shop to request an explanation of what they found but couldn't get a proper explanation from a couple of their employees. I insisted that we go to the car to be shown the problems and she kept pointing to the radiator and saying the condenser is bad. What??? So I clean out the vehicle and prepare it to be taken away. They hand me some cardboard boxes to place everything into and loan me a tool to remove the license plate. As we are leaving, we speak with owner to make it clear that the car is ready to go. I also call State Farm to let them know the car is ready to be towed. Here is the problem... The insurance company sends a tow truck to pick up the vehicle and Riverchase collision refuses to release it. They say they don't have authorization from me to turn it over. BUT Riverchase doesn't call me to request "authorization" and the insurance company doesn't call me either, it is just a waiting game to rack up "storage fees". Riverchase Collision is playing this game to stick it to the insurance company and guess who the insurance is going to pass that bill on to? When I finally find out what is happening, that fee has reached $780! I reach out to Riverchase collision to confirm what they are doing and am told to fight the insurance company as it isn't right that this bill should be passed on to me. Believe me I tried to do that for months but there is no recourse since I have no leverage here. State Farm just subtracted the amount from the settlement check that is issued for the vehicle. If Riverchase had not disabled my vehicle, I could have driven it back home again. I didn't know about this storage fee scam that they were going to play; else I would have insisted that they return the vehicle to a drivable state. I have learned from this experience and will try to avoid getting caught with it in the future. I have also learned to never again do business with Riverchase Collision Center. Hopefully this review has helped you to watch out for this trap also.
