Looking for a new brunch place after church and stumbled to this little biscuit joint. What a Great Find!!! You build your own biscuit however way you like. I had mine with conecuh aka the world's best sausage, egg and pimento cheese and boy it was divine!! Had a side of cinnamon apple fries and that was delicious! Never in my life had apple fries before and now I will be looking out for them! Hubby had the biscuit with conecuh, egg and bacon and a side of cheese grits. Their grits is on the thicker heartier side, the way I like it. It doesn't sound like a lot of food between the 2 of us but we couldn't finish all of it. DEFINITELY will be back for more biscuit!!!!! read more

Came to Montgomery to escape hurricane Irma and found this place for breakfast. Biscuits are perfect with farm to table choices of honeys, jams, butters. Sausage gravy delicious. Lots of choices to make a perfect breakfast. The ambiance is funky vintage country with tables both in and outside. We met one of the owners who was charming and it is clear she loves her work. The lunch dinner menu looked wonderful and I hope to get back here again. Enjoy this experience! A place with great food and great karma. read more

The food was okay, but I thought it was overpriced. The fried chicken was a thigh and wing for $6.50 with no sides. A tiny bowl of Mac and cheese was $4. We had a really long wait for our food. They give you a table ticket with a number on it and bring your food to you. There was a lot of confusion about where the food was going and the food for the table came out separately. We saw several tables that received half their food and at least 15 minutes later, the other food came out. We also saw people get their "sides" after they were almost done with their meal. This is a gem!!! Such a cute spot with amazing food and service. I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches. Southern biscuit and copy cat. I also got a side of fried chicken which was perfectly moist and crispy. The fries are perfectly cut and season. Now the jam!!!!! The strawberry basil was deliciously everything and the blueberry was amazing! I ordered a couple jams to take back home! Such a good place that we are coming back tomorrow before we leave Alabama. Very friendly staff. At first we didn't see the restaurant so we called and a staff member actually walked out to wave us in. Everyone was so kind and friendly, we genuinely felt welcome as out of town visitors. The cheese grits were amazing. I enjoyed my biscuit with the raspberry ghost pepper jam that was not spicy. This place has a high rating but it's very underwhelming to say the least. I honestly feel bad for the people and students of Montgomery that think this is good southern food. From the fresh out of the can greens, the bland not so golden chicken, to the slop of a broccoli casserole... oh God help these people!! This is not southern cooking whatsoever. Oh BABY - FRIED CHICKEN! Order for pickup as the line here gets out of control. I luckily thought ahead and ordered and arrived for a line that wound out the door even though the streets were dead. Happening and Deeeeelicious. I grabbed the fried chicken, collard greens (super tasty, moist, and not overdone), Cole slaw (mayo based, thick cut) and the broccoli-cheese rice (wouldn't do this again). With pickup you can still sit down at the restaurant at any open table and feast and just go to the front of the line when you arrive to grab your order. SUPER YUM! read more

I'm going to keep this review as honest and neutral as possible... We came here on a Sunday morning around 11:30am, we found a seat immediately, ordered at the counter and waited for our food. The experience overall felt very "nickel and dimed", for example the jam is .75 a flavor, for about a dollop. The food came out on a paper plate, with styrofoam cups and plastic utensils. See pictures for what was delivered to the table. The food looked and tasted like something we could have made at home...the sentiment from the table was "we would have been better off going to Cracker Barrel". The food we ordered included the smothered pig (nothing special), the Chicken and the egg biscuit and a traditional breakfast of bacon, eggs, and grits. None of us enjoyed the food. The bacon was supposed to be applewood and was more "woody", the eggs had goat cheese in them and tasted spoiled and the smothered pig had pimento cheese that was completely flavorless and more like cheddar cheese....overall, I'm surprised with the other high ratings, that's actually why we decided to try this location for breakfast, but I'd honestly think a 3 star rating is more accurate, in my opinion. read more

We both had the biscuit with chicken and egg, it was one of the best breakfast biscuits I had. This may be the worst food I've ever paid money to eat. I got the meatloaf which came out looking like several pieces of charcoal covered in ketchup. Every side item was swimming in oil and just north of tasteless. I might have been okay with all this if not for the outright rudeness bordering on harassment displayed by the waitstaff/employees. They got several of our party's orders incorrect and when we let them know there was a mistake, we got to hear them cussing us out in the not-far-enough-away kitchen before literally throwing our food on the table. It was my first time in Montgomery so of course I had a list of places I wanted to try. This was on the list for breakfast before I drove back to Gulfport and I have to say.. it was the perfect choice. I really enjoyed the food and the service was great as well. I ordered some toast and strawberry jam, but they were out so I got the mixed berry. It was very tasty (I only wanted strawberry because it's always the safe choice). I also got the sausage, scrambled eggs with veggies, and a side of gravy to eat with my eggs. It was the perfect amount of food, I didn't feel overly full to where I'd feel bad for not finishing my food. The onions and cherry tomatoes gave a hint of sweetness to the scrambled eggs and the sausage and gravy balanced it out with some saltiness. Ate breakfast here this morning. Food came out in good time. My wife had the classic and she loved it. I had the Mama's breakfast bowl and the egg was cold. But, they made me a new one and it was delicious. Great recovery, CH team! Coffee is self-serve but good. The have local artisan craft, cards, and jams/jellies (which we purchased and can't wait to try) so check that out. Place is clean, tastefully decorated, and inviting. We ate here for breakfast and loved it! Everything is from scratch and you can tell by the amazing quality of the food. The biscuits...wow! My children had the waffle breakfast plate and my husband tried the waffle and said it was one of the best waffles he had ever had. The eggs were cooked to perfection and not your plain ole' average eggs. Everything had wonderful flavor and the staff was super friendly. We left our to-go box on our table and the owner ran outside to find us and make sure we left with our food. How kind. Definitely will be coming back when we travel back for a visit! read more

Came here for a Sunday brunch with a friend. They weren't too busy when we arrived. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and seems like a breakfast nook. They have local products for sale as well that you can take home. They operate in a fast casual system and the food came out very quickly. One downside was the we were constantly asked if we needed anything else 9-10 times through our meal, which is great in moderation but can become overbearing. On looking at the menu, they have a large variety with both breakfast and lunch options. Everything seems to be ordered separately and you can add on sides as you please. Everything is reasonably priced. I decided on the Southern Biscuit which came with bacon, pimento cheese, and a fried green tomato on it. It was very tasty and a nice light brunch option. If you're very hungry definitely order a side with your biscuit. Overall a nice, reasonably-priced place to get brunch/lunch in downtown Montgomery. read more
