Nate and I have been exploring various coffee shops throughout Ann Arbor. Sometimes it's tough to get an idea of the vibe just by looking at Yelp, but we got lucky with Cahoots Cafe. We found nearby street parking and we were able to get a spot on a comfy couch that was near a power strip. There isn't a ton of seating so I imagine it can get busy throughout the day. The building is historic and also houses a coworking space which has a lot of really great amenities. The vibe inside the coffee shop is cozy but modern, and I loved the decor. They also had some really great merch - the tote bags were calling my name! I ordered the cardamom fig latte and Nate got a golden milk latte. They do that thing where they just yell out the name of the drink rather than taking your name, but I loved everything else about this place. The cardamom fig latte was unique and definitely tasted of both cardamom and fig. They have bagels and some pastries. I really liked the varied seating (comfy couches/chairs, tables, and bar seating) and plentiful outlets for getting work done. The wifi was fast and consistent. If I lived in the area this would be my go-to coffee shop. It's not the biggest space but it's definitely worth a visit! read more

Cute coffee shop adjacent to a co-working spot in town with really good coffee but kind of underwhelming food options. Most recently I came here for a meeting, ordering a vanilla latte and a sweet potato hand pie to nibble on since I hadn't eaten yet. The description of the latter sounded so good, sweet potatoes with black beans and a few other veggies, wrapped up in flaky pie dough. The filling, however, was mostly pureed, giving it more of a baby food consistency which I didn't love. The flavor was good though but I couldn't get over the mushy texture. The black beans weren't pureed in but were few and far between (I think I maybe counted 2 or 3?). In addition to my hand pie I also ordered a piece of the billionaire's shortbread but they didn't ring it up/prepare it. By the time I realized it (I had to wait for my hand pie to be heated up) it was only a few minutes before close so I didn't bother going back up to the counter to reorder. IDK if they were just in a hurry to close or genuinely didn't hear my order but it was a bummer since it did look great. The vanilla latte, however, was quite good. And for a coffee shop that's most important. And what they lacked in substantial food options they did make up for in fun, seasonal drink specials and a few sweet treats like cookies and the aforementioned shortbread. The space is very cute, as well, and made for a really comfortable meeting location. So overall I did like my visit here. I just won't be rushing back here if I'm feeling peckish. But for a caffeinated pick me up and a nice place to meet or chill, this definitely fits the bill. read more

Came here for a little coffee date, and their coffee is amazing! Something I loved was that they let the flavor of the coffee talk versus masking it with a bunch of sugar and sweetner. I got their cortadito and it was delicious. I also love the vibes of this place so calm and cozy, perfect place to study! read more

First time at Cahoots and I ordered the Brown Bear Latte (brown sugar, maple syrup). Good latte with balanced sweetness.

The worst matcha ever the grounds were still visible in the drink, tasted like old milk, and was just not good. Disappointed because it's such a cute place with a great location. Person who made seemed irritated so maybe it was just a bad day??? Anyways, it was the worst ever, so sad. read more

I've been meaning to try Cahoots Cafe and am glad I finally got the chance to do so today! My friend and I stopped by after a light lunch this afternoon. The interior is very spacious and clean, but there's not a lot of seating. That might actually be a good thing now since omicron and other nasty COVID variants are on the loose. In order to sit in, we had to verify our vaccination status with our barista. I'm really glad that Cahoots is taking these safety precautions! The barista was very funny and quirky, which made my friend and I laugh a lot while ordering. He definitely gave us good recommendations based on our drink preferences. We really enjoyed talking to him, and this was a huge plus for me. I got the cafe miel latte (honey & cinnamon) with oat milk. For the most part, I enjoyed this drink. It's a bit too sweet for me (not a huge sweet tooth), but honey is OK so it's whatever. I would prefer the flavor of cinnamon to be more obvious (so maybe more cinnamon and less honey?) but overall, it was great with the oat milk. I don't think I could really taste the espresso, but I mean, that's kind of what you expect in a flavored latte. Next time, I'll definitely give their black coffee or more espresso heavy drinks (like a cortado) a try. They use RoosRoast beans here, so you know it's gonna be good quality coffee! Great vibes, funny and friendly baristas, and good coffee. I'd highly recommend giving this place a try! There's also cute drawings on the windows. read more

Just discovered this nice cafe and coworking space downtown. The interior is open and airy, but also cozy with seating by a fireplace. The working space looks nice. I had the 5-spice Latte and it was a nice blend of spices without being too hot. I would definitely come back. read more

I love trying a new spot, and wanted to surprise my better half with something out of our routine on a recent birthday. I navigated turn by turn as he drove, and I was pleased as punch when he announced "Cahoots? I've been wanting to try this place!" as we parked. Located in a historic old building in downtown Ann Arbor that also provides some hip coworking space, we perused the menu and ordered some fancy coffee drinks at the coffee bar on the right. I chit chatted with the barista and picked out a baked good for myself before my husband placed his order as well. We settled in on a comfy leather sofa on the other side of the coffee shop once our drinks were ready, and enjoyed sipping and watching people come and go for the coworking space. The old renovated building is modern but elegant, and the addition of comfortable furniture and familiarity of the people who passed through gave everything a cozy community feel. Well, the reviews don't disappoint! I stopped by Cahoots Café for the first time today - and walked away with the best iced latte I've had in Ann Arbor in a long time. The shop itself is super cute - with an aesthetic that's clean and modern, a weekend pop-up for those who are looking for some tasty treats, friendly baristas, and a few small tables set up outside. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the specials board until after I ordered, but I love that 20% of sales for their pride latte will be donated to Ozone House through the month of June. All in all, it was definitely worth the drive in from Dexter - and I'll be back soon to grab one of those pride lattes! read more

This cafe is a great spot to do work on a sunny fall afternoon. There is really great coffee to have while you get work done or just enjoy a Sunday morning. It is also not populated with a lot of college students, so it is a nice escape from most other coffee shops in Ann Arbor. The service is speedy and it is never too crowded or loud. The lattes are on the higher price end, but definitely still worth it. Could not recommend this place more :) read more

Cahoots Cafe just opened yesterday in the same building as the Cahoots coworking space. The cafe space is bright and spacious, and service is really friendly. Seating is somewhat limited (2 small tables and some couches) so it's better for meeting people or grabbing a coffee than for working. They serve Roos Roast coffee and packaged food from Juicy Kitchen, and they also carry Milk+Honey baked goods. Currently their soft opening hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., but they plan to extend their hours in the future. I'm excited that there's a new great cafe downtown, and I can't wait to stop by again. read more

Nice cafe/coffee spot with a cool indoor area with plenty of seating and eclectic decor. The menu had plenty of hot and cold beverages from tea to coffee based drinks. I had the cold brew coffee and it was strong and flavorful. The location is about a block from where the farmers market is on Saturdays which makes it convenient. I will definitely go back and try more menu items!! read more

Such a lovely cafe! They have all of the basic coffee choices and a few extra gems. I tried the cafe latte, and the barista perfectly created a masterpiece of yum. I also tried the immunity booster shot and--zippadee do dah day mother fu--yeah it puts a zip in your step. They fuse herbs like turmeric and cayenne with apple juice. Its jarring but wakes you up, that's for sure. I could use one every morning. Would definitely be a frequent flyer if I came downtown more often. read more

Wonderful friendly service. I took a few wrong turns and found myself stopping in for a quick pick me up before heading to the hands on museum. They have drinks like basic witch, lavender latte or spicy Mayan latte. It take a few good minutes for the drinks to be made but totally worth it. And here you thought that was a rhetorical question. No. The only rhetorical question is: if you're in Ann Arbor, why WOULDN'T you go to Cahoots Cafe? Especially if you happen to be grabbing a desk at Cahoots. it's a no-brainer. Did I try anything else on the menu on this visit? First of all, I am obsessed with the aesthetic ambience in this cafe, such a vibe. They have a pretty big variety of drinks and treats on their menu. I tried their seasonal brown sugar m salt latte and it was delicious! Very smooth and creamy flavor. I will definitely be back to try more drinks! i'm sure the lavender latte is incredible as well. Went to the farmers market today and decided to stop here for a quick coffee since it's right down the street. We went with the seasonal salted caramel latte and it was pretty good but for some reason we didn't really taste any caramel. Also, my boyfriend was in the mood for a pastry but didn't see any that he would like which barely happens because he isn't a picky eater. Maybe that was because it was already past 11 when we went? Anyways, the interior of the place is super cute and I love the little tables they have outside. read more

This past weekend I celebrated my wife birthday and rented space at Cahoots. The whole experience was outstanding. Chelsea was very helpful. The site had all the hardware needed from tables. Chairs. Table coverings. Sound system where we used a play list pipe in music. We had 58 people and no one felt crowded but also gave the ambience of not being in a cavernous place. Great place to hold an event. We used both high top and regular seating tables. It allowed for mingling and engagement where people prefer to stand and chat. A place to set beverages. There is overhead door that can be opened to give you more outside space. Small table and chairs giving it a patio seating. Outside hanging lights nice touch. Everyone had a great time and celebration of a birthday. read more

Best lattes in AA hands down and the sweetest staff! We live 20 minutes away and drive downtown just to get their specialty lattes. Their Basic Witch latte was the best pumpkin spice latte I've ever had - sad to see it go for the season but wait to try their new holiday drinks for December! Went in about 15 minutes after they opened on Saturday to get a baked good. I had heard good things about their coffee and pastries and was hoping to try some. They had about 4 options at the time and I decided on the apple cinnamon muffin. It tasted very old, dry, and hard. The flavor was okay but I was surprised that they would serve something in this state. I can't speak for the coffee but I would not recommend the baked goods. read more
