    Socotra Iced Latte
    Carla R.

The Yemen coffee was so good! The quality of the latte, for an affordable price compared to other Yemen coffee shops was worth it! The staff were very friendly and helped me decide on a drink. I recommend the Socotra latte if it's your first time as it is their signature drink and reminds me of a gingerbread latte. This is a great place to study or hangout with friends. There's plenty of space and very comfortable seating! There's great history in their art hung and I loved learning more about the culture while I was there too!

Passed this place probably 30 times since I moved apartments and the lights from the street made me HAVE to go! Very friendly barista and after following her extremely helpful suggestions, went with the Honeycomb Latte, despite that not being one of my usual favorite flavors. And let me tell you, it was everything and more! So happy that I expanded my taste horizons! The place was decorated so cute and there were plenty tables and chairs for doing work or meeting with a friend. The drink itself had great flavor and had a hint of cinnamon that was just enough. Will be coming back!

I've been here a few times and am obsessed! The interior is stunning and such a nice vibe for coworking/studying. I love their socotra latte (w almond milk) it always hits the spot whether it's iced or hot. The selection of pastries and snacks can feel a tad overwhelming because everything looks so good. Though I can't stop ordering their honeycomb bread which is so good and perfectly gets the "not too sweet" balance I'm always hoping for! The outside is also super cute to sit at if it's a nice day. The service is great everytime I've been here and I love the ambiance (and free wifi). Definitely a new fave!!

Socotra Coffee has a beautiful ambiance and reasonable prices, which made for a pleasant first impression. We ordered the Mofawar coffee and the honeycomb bread. The bread was excellent; warm, soft, and just sweet enough. The coffee, while flavorful, had bits of cardamom that made the texture a little grainy, which took away from the experience. I also asked if I could try a small sample of their other coffees or if they offered a tasting flight, given how bold and unique the flavors are, but they weren't willing to accommodate. Overall, it's a lovely space with some promise, but the service and coffee experience left us a bit underwhelmed. Still worth a visit if you're curious, especially for the baked goods.

    Jubani coffee and pistachio croissant

Got the jubani coffee and pistachio croissant. The coffee was really flavorful, you could taste the ginger and subtle flavors of the nuts. I ended up getting a bag of it to make at home. I added sugar to mine, but I don't really think it needs it unless you like things sweet. The pistachio croissant was filled with creamy and nutty pistachio surrounded by chocolate. I went back the next day to try a different coffee, but I think the hours online are incorrect because it was closed and no one was there.

Incredible spot! Delicious coffee, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff, great setting for getting some work done or chatting with friends. The interior is so well decorated. We got an iced honeycomb latte and a hot Mofawar latte, both were so flavorful. Highly recommend!

Wow this place has a very unique and DELICIOUS dessert- Pistachio condensed milk-like texture on honeycomb bread. It is drool worthy!!! Inside the bread is hidden cream cheese as well. I liked their coffee as I got their Socotra Latte and the employee added sugar for me because I like sweet coffees. I loved it! Lots of people study or work here so it's a nice environment.

Yemeni Adeni tea with cardamom, nutmeg and milk
    Mercy W.

Wow, this place is really fantastic because the Coffee is genuinely impressive with all of the different styles that they have to order from. The pistachio coconut cream cake is exceptionally delicious both flavors textures and presentation. The people behind the counter are warm and friendly and there's plenty of seating. The only downside is it's a little louder than I'd like it to be, but this is a great great place. If you're looking for a truly good unique cup of coffee after seeing so many bland cookie cutters/ cafe go through Ann Arbor it's refreshing to taste something new and flavorful.

Me enjoying the latte and ambiance
    Maha K.

My friend and I came here late at night to try the lattes. He ordered the toffee nut latte, and I ordered the pistachio latte. The toffee nut latte was definitely sweeter. It had a rich, warm mix of hazelnut and caramel. The espresso was strong enough to stand out and blended perfectly with the toffee-nut flavor. The pistachio latte was more subtle. It tasted like a classic latte with a gentle, nutty hint of pistachio. Service was great. They brought out our drinks within 10 minutes and were very friendly. The ambiance was also a highlight, with groups of friends and young adults enjoying their Friday night. Great spot to gather with friends after a dinner. Overall: 9 out of 10. Would definitely come back.

Socotra Coffee House in Ann Arbor is a cozy and inviting spot with plenty of seating, good lighting, and a warm Middle Eastern-inspired atmosphere. Their menu stands out with unique drinks like the Adeni chai, pistachio latte, and honeycomb latte, alongside fresh pastries and desserts such as honeycomb bread and milk cakes. Customers often praise the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the café's clean and comfortable setup with free Wi-Fi and outlets, making it a great place for studying or working. The extended hours, especially on weekends, add to its appeal for late coffee runs. Prices are little higher than other shops and most agree the quality and presentation of both drinks and pastries make it worth it.While the café can get busy during peak hours, it's often described as a hidden gem in Ann Arbor, offering a refreshing alternative to more typical coffee shops.

Socotra is one of my favorite coffee shops in Ann Arbor. It is currently my favorite spot for Yemeni coffee. My favorite thing to order here is the socotra latte, which is a latte flavored with cardamom and cinnamon. There are also several types of desserts you can order here, such as pistachio cheesecake, rose flavored desserts, and even their house made Dubai chocolate bars. I appreciate that this spot is open later than most coffee shops in town. It's great for hanging out with friends or getting work/reading done. Service can take a while when it's crowded. The ambiance is casual, well-lit, and clean. Will definitely be ba

I decided to check out this location for the first time. It is a nicest local spot that I had been to in a while. It was quiet, comfortable and cozy. There is a good menu of various coffees. teas and unique pastries. The host and staff were friendly. I look forward to returning.

Last week, we celebrated three of our friends' surprise birthdays at Socotra Coffee House. We love Socotra and have been their customers since they opened a few years ago. I spoke to Nour over the phone and asked if they could join a few of their mango tiramisu cakes together to resemble a birthday cake. She wasn't sure if that could be done, but she and the fabulous baker at Socotra assured that they would try their best. When we got there, we were so surprised to see what the baker came up with for us. They went above and beyond to present us with more than we could have expected from a cafe. The "cake" was ready when the birthday girls arrived, and they played the birthday song to add to the joy of a dozen very noisy ladies. We enjoyed our night away with Adeni tea and many more of their delicious cakes and pastries. We showed our gratitude to team Socotra with a big thank you and a hefty tip; you deserved it. (Maybe Socotra can offer a custom cake with pre-order.)

Huh? That's okay because they must have sharp knives that slice easily through bagels. Nope. Might as well try cutting your bagel with a spoon. Because of the difficulty eating the bagels, they weren't finished. My "Cheesy-P" (terrible name) was just heated up in the microwave. Not much effort involved in that. We think our bagels weren't toasted, but heated up in the microwave too. Blah. A little more effort would go a whole lot further. The protein ball aren't really appealing either, but they might have been if the other food was decent. Coffee good. Skip the food. Seems like coffee shops with more food options, should really take it seriously. I don't think Roos does.

However, when ordering the Blue Whale drink on the self serve order kiosk, it's described as "Blue Majik" spirulina/energy boosting botanicals (carbonated). The drink I got fit the latter's description. Would suggest updating the board :). I did get a little jittery afterwards, but unsure if that was from the "energy boosting" botanicals or from a coffee I had a couple hours earlier.
