    Stairs before staining

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY OF WORK AND LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY. I would never hire this company again or recommend them. I hired Jaime Caissie (Caissie Hardwood Flooring, aka OC Custom Floors) to stain/refinish my newly installed stairs. He left me with a bad staining job which I paid $1350; the stain color was not as we discussed; there were bubbles in the topcoat, along with debris-which looked to be from the rags he used to wipe down the stairs, he also got brown stain spots on my new wainscoting. When I informed Jamie of the problems; he said the bubbles would go away once the topcoat settled. He wanted me to pay an additional $350 for him to darken the finish, which I refused because these were his mistakes. After a few days, he returned and tried to correct the problems by sanding out the bubbles and debris, this created more problems. I now have layers of partially sanded topcoat with scrap marks, grayish spots where the bubbles were, debris and scratch marks under a new layer of topcoat. The holes from the nails, which were covered, are now visible. I informed Jaime of the new problems, he said he would come back Friday of that week, but he never showed. Now he is not answering my calls or responding to my voice & text messages. The quality of work is not what I would expect from someone with the years of experience Jaime claims to have. Also, I was concerned because he asked me to make out the payment to "OC Custom Floors", he said he no longer used the old account: "Caissie Hardwood Flooring", although he continues to advertise under this name. He said he would email me an invoice/receipt, which he didn't, even after I requested it twice. I paid Jaime $1350 for a staining job, which I have to have redone.

I'm very pleased with my refinished floors! Jamie really knows what he is doing. He was very prompt and polite and even went the extra mile to make up for some hiccups along the road. He worked within my budget and was competitive compareable to other companies. I love the color of my stain which he showed me two times before putting on. I would recommend him to my friends and family.

Love the color variation on our 1940's original oak floor! Stunning!

Unfortunately the job is not complete and it has been a month. Jamie will not return our calls. Our mistake was to pay him in full.

We did feel 12 bags of self leveling concrete was excessive when it looked like it was only used on a few corners of the room in a job less than 900 sq feet. Unfortunately one of the stair nosing broke within a couple weeks of install. Rafi was responsive in redoing the stairs stating it was a manufacturing defect and that the new version is stronger. Unfortunately the second team quality of work was very poor. They left holes in our walls that were patched poorly with plaster. Worst of all the stairs were apparently nailed to the subfloor and after a few weeks they started to rise leaving little holes and nails protruding from the floor. A few of the stair noses are loose as well. At this point, Rafi became unresponsive to have the flooring fixed. We ended up getting some of our money back through our credit card after months went by but the majority of the payment was by check. Basically we will need to replace the stairs again on our own dime. Buyer beware! Lifetime warranty doesn't mean anything if the installer ghosts you.

(With the quote coming in $1k cheaper than the competitors). We were did not have a color in mind when we re-did our floors so his team was able to provide a number of options/materials that would fit into the quote that he provided. Once the material/color was chosen, the work was scheduled for the week after. On the day of the installation, Raymond showed up on time and finished the job in just one day. He worked non-stop, was very efficient and very clean. I highly recommend My Flooring guy to anyone looking for quick, high quality work. There were no hidden costs and Rafi was upfront about everything that was charged!

To my surprise Armando returned with an assistant and the two of them cleaned the Mexican terra cotta pavers better than ever. They worked whole day and got into corners, I didn't know existed. It was pristine. The next morning, bright and early, Armando was back with a new assistant. The set about preparing and dealing with a semi-gloss finish. I stepped out to pick up some odds and ends to return to see the second coat. Wow! Armando is a floor restoration artist. If you don't use Sunshine, your nuts. The granite turned out beautiful but the grout/caulk had to be redone because the gal used the wrong color. The shower and bathroom floor turned into a huge fiasco. This area was supposed to be cleaned and only repair to the grout. Antonella re-grouted (maybe it is caulking - I don't know) my bathroom floor in brown it was supposed to be grey. Then she grouted over parts of my shower in brown and left other parts grey (in her defense it was hard to differentiate when it was wet) but it did not need grouting only cleaning and it was the wrong color which was very obvious when it dried. Then she told me I could get the caulking wet for 4 days when I was originally told 24 hours (I have 1 bathroom). Within 24 hours the grout on the bathroom floor started crumbling in places -cI was told it was because I stepped on the bathroom tiles when I used the toilet, however it also crumbled in areas where the tiles were not stepped on (BTW I weigh 126lbs). Anyway, I contacted April at the office she had Izzy call me he came out and made sure things were grouted throughout and he was very apologetic and kind. This cost me $700 + $200 for the granite. My bathroom is super small -it is a toilet and a tub/shower...the vanity is in a separate room. I feel like I could have done a better job DIY'ing it for a lot less money. If you have granite I recommend this company. For anything else - I say go somewhere else. Also, do not trust what is written up at the sale, go over every detail with the person actually doing the work and don't leave the room - micro-manage the job - otherwise you might get my results. I attached photos. Take a look. I'm giving a 3 rating because the company responded quickly to my concern and Izzy came out and did his best to rectify the original poor workmanship - but be aware of the ethical standards some employees may have relating to their workmanship. I will not hire this company in the future - I would replace over repair.

Initially, James informed me that the earliest available appointment was on Friday. However, when I mentioned that my family would be arriving on Wednesday and that I would appreciate completing the repairs beforehand, he went above and beyond. To my pleasant surprise, he was able to accommodate me just two hours later on the same day. It was an added relief that the technician who had previously repaired my tub ten years prior arrived at our doorstep. Miguel performed the work with the same high standards as before. He is very professional, a nice and friendly guy with thorough attention to detail and evident pride in his craftsmanship. He left the workspace neat, and the bathtub now appears to be in excellent condition. The three- to five-year durability of the repair speaks to the quality of ProTub's craftsmanship. Should I require further services such as reglazing or refinishing in the future, ProTub will undoubtedly be my first choice. I sincerely
