Food and service first rate. Definitely recommend this place. We were a party of 4 and we were seated almost immediately. Appetizers we had were "peel em eat em shrimp" and Gator Bites. Both were excellent. The Gator Bites came with a sauce that was amazing! Our server brought us a couple cups to take home. Husband and I had the Thin Catfish (that wasn't what it was called but it was thin!) with fries (crispy fries) hush puppies and I had baked sweet potato and he had salad. The hushpuppies were really good. (That's how we judge a catfish house. LOL). The couple with us had the thin catfish platter with fries and gumbo and she had the Bourbon glazed Salmon with salad and baked sweet potatoe. Honestly, we had no complaints. Wife and I went Saturday around 4:45. It was busy but we got right in and seated quickly. After we got seated the place got busy and filled up quick. I decided on half a dozen fresh oysters on the half shell. They came quickly and were fresh. We then both ordered crispy thin catfish with grilled new potatoes and slaw. Food came out quick and everything was good. Fish was cut thin and fried crispy with a tasty batter. Hush puppies were excellent !Potatoes were good and slaw was tasty. WOW -- Cajun Boilers absolutely delivered! The huge crawfish were boiled to perfection and packed with flavor. The family recipe jambalaya was on point and tasted homemade in the best way. We also shared crab legs and boudin, everything was excellent. The food tasted so authentic it felt like I was sitting in Breaux Bridge. We came in with a large party during the lunch rush, and they still got our food out fast. Our waiter was great, attentive, and kept everything moving smoothly. Some of the best crawfish I've ever had! And we are from Louisiana! These were cooked to perfection. It was pinch the tail easy to peel!! And there were some monsters in there! New to the area and have driven by this place a few times in the last month and noticed that the parking lot was always packed. Had no idea what the history was, but figured I'd give it a whirl the other night and boy did it exceeded my expectations! Probably one of the best things I've eaten in the last year. But let's back up, they have plenty of parking out front, but watch the traffic because it's near a curve and last week there was a really bad accident when somebody pulled out trying to turn left. The parking lot is kept clean and has at least two points. When I walked through the front door at about 6 o'clock in the evening, I was promptly greeted and offered a table, but as I could tell it was getting busy, and I actually prefer to eat at the bar when I'm alone, plus it opens up and entire table for a , so that's where I headed. I'm awful with names, but the gentleman tending bar and taking my order is a school teacher who works there to help offset the cost of his daughter's cheer programs. What a good papa! He also happened to be a really great server who is friendly, prompt and attentive without being overbearing. I opted for the shrimp creole pasta, and it absolutely blew my socks off. It came with five huge, well seasoned broiled shrimp on top thick, perfectly cooked al dente' fettuccine noodles, bathed in a delicious slightly spicy cream sauce. It was rich without being over the top , creamy and incredibly tasty. And don't worry about the heat level, my gallbladder divorce me a few years ago, so I am very sensitive to spicy heat, but this was just perfect. I was so hungry that I snarfed it down before I thought about taking a photo but suffice to say I just about licked the bowl it was so delicious. I can't wait to go back and work my way through the menu, the prices are pretty reasonable, the place is newly remodeled and apparently just reopened about a month ago after being closed for nearly a year. Female , claim to be owner with her young husband threw me out because I questioned 3 walk in under 30 come in and immediately be seated after we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. There was NO cussing the young receptionist. I did say to my brother WTF to him when 3 came in and were immediately seated. The young Female claimed to be the owner blatantly lied stating I was kicked out yet my wife, brother, and his significant other came in and had a delicious meal. This is an ABSOLUTE LIE. I WILL WAGER MY LIFE SAVINGS to her &100,000 that is a total made up fabricated lie. We all went back home and had leftovers. What a piece of work this lying young antii Seniors supposedly owner is. Horrible service under the new management! We used to love CB, now it's a disappointment! Noah, the owners son, who manages the place is rude and doesn't know how to run a business! After reaching out to request an accommodation and reservation for a special occasion, we were met not only with resistance but with an attitude that bordered on hostile! It was my mother's in law 77th birthday, we were going to be a party of 6, she is not in her best health after the passing of my father in law 4 months ago. Her wish was to have a nice meal at Cajun Boilers. We called ahead of time and a nice bartender said that they will probably be able to accommodate us and reserve a table. She advised us to call the day of dining in the morning. This is what we did - Noah spoke to us, we were ready to leave $250 deposit beforehand, we also were ready to pre-order huge platters with oysters, crab legs, appetizers etc. and prepay for the food. We wanted to accommodate the wish of an elderly woman who loves Cajun Boilers. Noah got my husband's number and texted back after an hour that they will not take a reservation. My husband expressed his disappointment and Noah's response back was "Do not come". To say this was surprising would be an understatement! It's one thing to be unable to accommodate a reservation. But to dismiss potential guests so rudely, is unacceptable from anyone, let alone the face of a hospitality business. There is no shortage of wonderful dining options in the area where guests are treated with kindness and respect! And indeed we dined in their competitors restaurants down the street, they took a reservation and accommodated our needs! Not to mention that we were loyal customers to the family who owns Cajun Boilers now, and their other businesses- we will not be renting their boats any more either! The moral of the story is that when Noah told us "Don't come" he spoke his words into the Universe! The next day Cajun Boilers was destroyed by a natural disaster.... Had Valentine's dinner there, first time I've been since the reopening, crawfish etouffee was great but the bread served with it was so hard it had to be soaked in it to even eat it, the boiled crawfish was very good and seasoned just right but their supplier should grade it better because I had several very tiny ones that should have been thrown back in to grow more, the boiled shrimp was very good but over cooked and very hard to peel potatoes and corn had great taste but the piece of sausage in it was like rubber and i didn't eat it the served was great! Checked on us more than once to see if we needed anything, next time I'm going to get the trio with gumbo etouffee and red beans and rice, I sure hope that they do something about the hard as granite bread situation, I will not hesitate to make a return visit read more

Great place, everything we had was fantastic! Great beer on tap and a very nice outdoor patio that is enclosed and heated so you can look at the water. I had the catfish and shrimp combo both grilled, the grilled catfish was delish! My son had the fried catfish which was also good. We had oysters raw and cooked both amazing. All of the sides were great perfect baked potatoes and sweet potatoes! Fries were good and the steamed vegetables were perfect! Highly recommend this place. Had great service! read more

I just wanted to share my experience at Cajun Boilers for lunch today. The place is beautifully remodeled (inside or outside seating with a nice view) and the whole staff was upbeat and friendly, which I appreciated from the get go. I happened to opt for the bar so that I could enjoy some football while eating. Jay was working the bar and his service was remarkable. I requested a Michelada which is unheard of in Hot Springs. He delivered a great one! Food is good. Oysters were fresh, briny and had all the great condiments. The gumbo has fantastic South Louisiana flavor! And the "Thin Cat" cut of catfish was so crunchy and delicious. It's obvious that the tartare sauce is fresh and homemade. Not from a jar for sure. Best round hush puppies I've had with a fresh green onion flavor. I believe they have been back open for a week or so and I think they have created a great dining place to the Hot Springs area. Any newly opened business will have a little learning curve as far as staffing and stuff. Thanks for a great lunch and I can't wait for crawfish season!! read more

We had to wait a very long time even though we were maybe 5th in line. Hostess and staff were havong difficulty in placing people at tables. My husband said, "I have a bad feeling about this place". We sat at a booth and as we were sitting, ants were all over the table. I did let the waitress know of this and they moved us to a table. Appetizer was the Sausage Sampler and it was just okay. Nothing distinguishable from buying Johnsonville Polish Sausage. Disappointing for sure. .. Salad didn't have enough dressing and full of ribs. The cherry tomatoes were tasty. I ordered chicken and shrimp combo $24 . The shrimp was good but the Blackened Chicken Breast was cold and wasn't blackened. Maybe microwave . I'm not sure. It was horrible. The baked potato tasted old as in leftover. Not hot. My husband order catfish and shrimp combo $25 2 small pieces of catfish and 5 shrimp. He said it was okay... The owner was extremely unprofessional and began a customer service issue by threatening my wife before she even had a chance to tell her the issue. We had to wait 15 minutes, after being seated, to get our drink orders taken. We were never given any silverware to eat our salads so my wife had to go to the bar and be ignored by 4 or 5 employees before someone asked what they could help her with. When customers that came in 20 minutes after us received their appetizer and food before we received our appetizer my wife went to the bar to talk to a manager. She told the young female manager the issues with the poor service and when she asked what they could do to make our visit better my wife said she just wanted to make her aware of the poor service and not anything for compensation. When our appetizer and food finally arrived it had been about an hour after ordering. Most of the food was cold and not all that good. Our drinks had been empty for a long time before we received our food and was never asked if we needed any refills. My son had been begging us for something to drink so I had to go to the bar to get a refill. The waitress saw me walking back from the bar so she then came to ask if we needed any refills. My wife said no if we needed any more refills we would just go back to the bar again. The owner then came over to our table and said she had a waitress crying in the bathroom. My wife asked her to come over to her side of the table so she could tell her what had been going on without yelling across the table because it was loud in there. She came over and said "I'm going to warn you now I have a hot temper so be careful and wise with what you say to me!" Her son then said to his mom/owner that they needed to go ahead and end it there and just comp our bill. She said no and that was her property. My wife asked her if she was threatening her and the owner responded was that my wife was being aggressive and escalating things and we weren't the only customers. The owner continued to try and cause a scene while her son was trying to get her to stop. She ended by telling us to pay the bill and leave. If the owner had never came over to the table to threaten us for not getting good service. We would have just left not having had good service instead we all left pissed off. That woman has no business trying to handle customer service. read more

This is a landmark restaurant for Hot Springs. Went there last night around 6 pm. Parking lot is full. I was worried about the wait time, but we got seated in less than 20 minutes. The waitress we had was the best. So friendly and attentive. She made us feel like family. I have raved about the food before. Trust me it is Southern style seafood that is top notch. I went here Friday night 50 minutes before closing. They must have been short staffed. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table in a mostly empty dining room. Waited 15 more minutes to be waited on and 20 more minutes to get my cup of gumbo and appetizer of boiled shrimp! Gumbo tasteless and had to be sent back to be warmed up. Shrimp was average but seemed a little undercooked. This place is old, dated and not very clean. Bus boy burped out loud passing by my table.
