First time in. Decided to try lunch. There are lunch specials. We are not fans of pho per se, but we do enjoy a good seafood boil. The boils are the way to go. You can choose from a wide variety of seafood such as shrimp, mussels, lobster, snow crab etc. once you choose your seafood that you select your flavoring. Choices are Cajun, lemon pepper, garlic butter, or a mix of all three. Lastly, choose your spice level (mild, medium, hot, etc). We both selected the snow crab and snow boil with Cajun seasoning and mild spice. The boils also come with corn, potatoes and a hard boiled egg. Never seen the egg in a boil before. Everything comes out in a big plastic bag in a steel pan. Dump the contents out and prepare to dig in. Let me say that this is not the place to go out all dressed up. The boils are very messy. They give you an apron and plastic gloves, but still a mess. It was delicious. We also got a couple sides of hush puppies which were very tasty as well. Good portions. Oh boy, what a hidden gem! My wife chose this place for dinner because it had 'cajun' and 'pho' in the name (LOL) - two of our favorite cuisines. I was skeptical initially but boy was I wrong. We had a bunch of things - the Egg Fried Rice, Pork Dumplings, Rice Paper Roll, the Cajun Shrimp boil with corn and a Seafood pancake. Everything was delicious. If I have to nitpick, I'll say the corn wasn't that fresh - and I LOVE corn so that was a minor dampener in an otherwise perfect dinner. A big shout to our server, Leroy. Amazing experience a Cajun Crab & Pho. Located in a crowded strip mall on Saddle Creek, it's an oasis inside. Unexpectedly calming. Ordered a seafood combo of crab, shrimp and sausage. Chose cajun hot. I was not expecting the puffy plastic bag it arrived in! The server was very friendly when I said it was my first visit, explained to me how the bib and gloves worked. I have enough Maryland chops to handle the crab legs. The spice level was just right. It was not too hot and I could probably handle extra hot, but have learned that when it comes to spice level, it's best to start on the mildly hot side and kick it up from there rather than just dive in to a big number because there's no telling how hot the latter might be. Everything was delicious. I'm already plotting my return. p.s. The restroom was sparkly. They were PACKED on a Saturday night, with many waiting in the lobby with a number to be seated. This system seemed to work, as we probably waited less than 20 minutes despite being a few parties down the list. The atmosphere is definitely casual, with mostly nautical decor. There is a good amount of seating. They offer takeout as well, with a dedicated counter for that up front. Once seated, we ordered pretty quickly. I started with the fried spring rolls and had the rare steak pho for an entree. The spring rolls were crispy and fresh, with a tasty sauce as well. I also enjoyed my pho and had plenty for leftovers. The broth had a great flavor, and there was a good amount of noodle, veggies, and meat. I appreciate that there is a ton to choose from on the menu, whether you're in the mood for a seafood boil or pho. My order was to-go and I particularly appreciated the way that they individually packed everything securely so that I could combine at home for myself. My mom got the lunch crawfish boil bag, Cajun flavor, medium heat. She's from Louisiana and said the spice level was good. I thought it was on the upper level of medium so spice lovers would be good with medium and above. We both feel like it was QUITE the authentic tic Cajun flavor we expected but the flavor was delicious anyway. Buttery and garlicky and the crawfish were fresh and not fishy at all. I got the rare steak pho and loved it. HUGE bowl of pho, with all the usual fixings (sprouts, Thai basil, and jalapeños), and usual sauces in the table. Really great broth for the pho. The restaurant is always clean and to my surprise the bathroom is fair. While these were decent, the pho and Vietnamese pancake failed to impress :( Pho is one of my favorite go to foods, and my nana is Vietnamese and was excited to try the pancake because she hadn't had one in a while, but we were both left with the feeling of mediocrity. I understand that preparing food is a lot of work, so I am grateful for the meal despite us being impressed. The pho didn't have enough flavor and was simply not hot enough. I was so excited that they finally opened. I stopped in for a meal and will be returning. Fair warning, steer clear of the crab rangoon. It might be the worst in town, which is why they got 4 stars and not 5. Otherwise, this is a new restaurant on my rotation. You are allowed to rate your spice from 1-5, and while everything was cooked perfectly, I asked for as spicy as they could give me, and it wasn't quite spicy enough. Usually we love this place but we went later this time about 7:30 this time. The boils we got were over cooked and the crab was mushy. For spending $50+ the food wasn't worth it. On top of that my sister got food with chicken and the chicken was pink and slimy. They had told her do to policy change she had to pay for the food regardless if they threw it away of not. They offered to get her something different but couldn't exchange so she'd have to pay for the food on top of the raw/"boiled" chicken. Not a great experience. Recommend not going late. The broth was slightly sweeter and oilier than what I would've liked but was still a cohesive flavor medium with the noodles. What an amazing meal. Although some would think our wait seemed excessive, it was worth the wait. The dining room was full and there were only two servers, yet they were kind, helpful and so friendly!!! Ira was our server and he was the best.
