I'm very picky with my shrimp because sometimes it can taste just not right but I actually like this shrimp. This has been a family favorite for a while. We normally stick to the gyoza and pho, which never disappoint, we saw two people ordered the grilled pork chop. We decided to give it a try and BAM...you got to try this. The flavor is so unique...sweet and savory. Just an awesome dish. We also ordered Edamame and plain fries. Visited here for the bahn-mi and decided to also add some General Tsao's chicken with rice. Took it to-go, but the inside was clean, open and inviting. For a Friday, they seemed a bit understaffed, but I still received my food quickly. Was pleasantly surprised with the portion size, as well as the addition of a fried egg on top of the rice. The full sized bahn mi was plenty of food, and the general Tsao's chicken was more than I could finish. I really enjoyed the extra mile with the fried egg and even some pickled vegetables added to the rice. For two meals, it came out to $26 which seemed like a steal. Great service! Nice and clean. We had good fried dumplings and Pho, as well as pad Thai. The food was good, huge portions. Albeit I ordered my Pad Thai with a 1 factor for the heat, it had nice amount of protein and tons of noodles. The sauce was a bit thin and runny. The flavor was on the sweet side. I asked for extra green onions to give it more flavor and crunch. The fried dumplings were perfectly cooked, but a bit bland. Over and over again I will shout how good Phoba is! Quality every single time! The food is fresh and hot. The flavors are amazing! If I've said it once I'll say it again, best pho in Nebraska, and possibly the best I've had in the US. Would recommend highly! Milk teas are great too. Do not come for the Pad Thai. They do not use the typical small pad Thai noodles, and it was extremely bland and tasteless. I understand this is primarily a Pho place but the Thai place I usually order from is closed on Sundays so I ordered this instead and was extremely disappointed. Firstly, I'd like to start by saying I've gone to my local pho restaurant for years (A certain one in Bellevue ), and Phoba had me rethink "what is good pho?". Phoba, hands down, has a tastier broth (which tastes like NO shortcuts were made in the process of making the bone broth), wonderfully fresh and juicy ‍ limes (not tiny, dry wedges that look like they've been sitting out for a day) a generous serving of unwilted basil, and crisp bean sprouts that didn't have that odd tannin taste that I usually notice everywhere else. I loved that the combination pho came with beef tripe already (something I usually have to pay extra for) and lovely cilantro that you can actually taste. Food was good and generally good value. Service was lackluster and the server never did the typical check up after the food was dropped off. Food came in at a reasonable time after we orders but we were the only ones here on a Tuesday night. (They had two take out orders during our time there.) My daughter got the pho and the flavor was good but super weird there were florets of broccoli in there. I got the pork chop platter and it came out beautifully- they give you more pork chop than other restaurants that have this same dish. My other daughter got the sesame chicken and she enjoyed it, the garlic flavor was really pronounced. It came with a fried egg (not pictured because other daughter ate it by the time I took the photo) which is super interesting. The worst pho place I personally have ever been. I got the bowl with the rib in it because it sounded good, yet the flavor was flat. The broth was flat and not enough of hoisin or sriracha fixed it. The spring rolls we had ordered were 80% lettuce and also flat and boring with very little recourse even doused in peanut sauce. We will not be going back for their pho. I just found my new favorite boba! I had the Miss You (taro) and my partner had the Tiger King (brown sugar). Both were so creamy, cold, and delicious! And the cups they're served in are so cute and unique. We ordered online and when we arrived 10 minutes later, the drinks were bagged up and ready to go! Staff were friendly and the prices are super reasonable! If I hadn't eaten before heading here, I would have also ordered the vegetable fried rice. We came here on a Saturday night and it was slow, ambiance was unique. Looks sort of thought out with the layout but there's not much you can do in a tiny space but cramming as many tables in between booths is not the move. We sat down and put in our order for springrolls, medium beef pho, and a veggie bowl. I am Vegan and was hoping the Tofu was prepared in a food-safe way but unfortunately after speaking with them about the preparation of the Tofu I decided to just get veggies and do more of a greens bowl. Food came out and looked normal, but looks can be deceiving. The veggies were very low quality and had that premade chemical taste that coats the mouth and stays in there after you've tried to cleanse with water. If they were fresh, they should be sourced/stored/prepared better. I'm not sure what's up with the process, maybe they aren't washing all their cleaners off of the food preparation spaces or containers it's stored in. Maybe the utensils to prepare the food weren't fully washed of chemicals and that led to the taste. Maybe it's just as simple as lower grade vegetables or even going pre-mixed to reduce food costs. Whatever it is, it was horrible. The peanut sauce didn't help either. There is a distinct acidic taste to the peanut sauce. It really tasted like it was sour and had gone bad from improper storage, or the ratio was off. Perhaps if I'm right about the use of pre-mixed food supplies this was just your typical stir and serve abominations. The feedback from my girlfriend about her Pho was that it was equally as terrible and disappointing in it's own way. She left her own review for anyone curious about the Pho options. read more

Just okay. Pho is made with a tradition broth that is simmered for hours and strained of all particulates, Phoba serves you chicken broth from a container. Banh mi sandwich meat is tradionally grilled/charred, but not and the sauces are overly sweet. The Shrimp summer rolls are loaded with too much lettuce and lack flavor. We walk in on a Saturday night at 7pm and the place is absolutely empty. Already a bad sign. It smells off, and the set up is more like a fast food restaurant. We decided to give it a shot anyway. The service was fine, the people were nice. The summer rolls had a strange texture and were not at all as expected when the waiter even advertised them to us as spring rolls. The peanut sauce was incredibly sour like it was pure vinegar or citric acid. The pho...I was so hopeful would be good. The veggies on the plate looked nice and fresh and there was a good amount on the plate. But the broth, was not good. The noodles were also a different texture than expected. Having experienced some of the most delicious Vietnamese/Asian food, while living in the Pacific Northwest, this restaurant really impressed me. The owner is very nice and welcoming, and her food tastes very authentic, and delicious! The combination brisket Pho bowl is truly one of the best Pho bowls I've had! The appetizers are also, equally, all great! The location might not seem inviting, but I recommend stopping by, and enjoy a some great food. You won't regret it! Great first experience at Phoba! We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. For drinks, the Classic Milk Tea is the perfect amount of sweet and came in a generous sized cup. Our food also came out quickly--as did all the other tables around us once they filled up. Our waiter was super friendly and on top of it and everyone behind the counter was hard at work. The interior of the restaurant is also clean and well decorated. There were about 6 tables and a high top bar against the wall with additional seating. As for the food, the spring rolls with peanut sauce were delicious. The Banh Mi Sandwich was a perfect combination of everything, just enough bread, just enough meat, and the mayo was delicious. The Pho came out in a huge portion with plenty left to take home, and the tofu and veggies were cooked perfectly. We couldn't have had a better first experience and I'm so looking forward to coming back and trying the other items on the menu. So happy to have Phoba in Omaha!! read more

I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant and I will be happy to say that I found a new favorite place for pho! They have more than just pho and I had the benefit of trying their chicken and rice along with sesame chicken. Everything was scrumptious! And I walked out full and very happy. I really, really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 items we ordered were left wanting. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. To be fair to the restaurant, they do not advertise this as banh mi, but when you get a grilled meat sandwich with fresh veggies and cilantro from a Vietnamese restaurant, you're basically expecting banh mi, right? This definitely was not that. She reports that the meat tasted good, but the mayo was a miss, and most importantly it was served on some kind of hoagie bun, rather than a baguette. Most of it went in the trash. Hard to understand why they wouldn't just offer a traditional banh mi. I ordered pad Thai, and it wasn't terrible, just flavorless. I added lime juice, crushed red pepper, spring roll dipping sauce, and sweet chili sauce to give it some flavor. The hallmark of good pad Thai is that it's exploding with complementary flavors, but this was just wet noodles. On the positive side, I requested fried tofu instead of meat on the pad Thai, even though it wasn't on the menu, and they accommodated--very much appreciated! Also the portion was generous, a good value for the cost. I hope they're able to up their game in the flavor department, because it's great having a Vietnamese place out west. Just tried Phoba for the first time and wow, I think this restaurant probably has the best pho broth that I tried in Omaha! The broth is flavorful without being too oily or full of MSG. It really does seem as though there was love poured into the broth. I am from a large Vietnamese community back in Southern California and it has been so difficult to find a decent Vietnamese restaurant that serves good pho in Nebraska, but I think Phoba nailed it! I got takeout for this first try, but definitely coming back to try it fresh in the restaurant next time. I also ordered the beef papaya salad, lemongrass chicken vermicelli, and pork chop with rice. Everything was well cooked, well seasoned, and well portioned. Vietnamese food is way more than just pho, so I definitely recommend branching out and trying other dishes, especially if you aren't familiar with Vietnamese cuisine.
