I couldn't decide what to get son I ordered two lunch specials. The meal proportions seem smaller than what I'm used to but it's probably the perfect amount for most. I ate most of both meals and they were both good. I can't remember what I ordered but going to try to order them again. Service started slow since we got there and no one was around. It was mid lunch time and they probably weren't expecting anyone. Once our server was aware that we were there the service was great. Ambience is nice too. read more

MIXED REVIEW Appetizers were DELICIOUS.. ordered potstickers and crab rangoons. Both were excellent Chicken Pad Thai was trash... it just tasted like they added the noodles, their sweet and sour sauce with some chicken and tossed it in a pan to warm up and called it a day. Waitress was very attentive and nice but I was a little hesitant about her making my food.. she wore the same pair of gloves the entire time we were there. Cleanliness of the place was SKETCHY. This is an incredibly different review to write. Let me start by saying that I love this place and have been getting excellent carryout before for years. Their food still is some of the best Thai food I've had anywhere, including better than any I've had in the Omaha area. Unfortunately, tonight we dined in for the first time in years, and the experience really diminished the excellence of the food. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty, no staff to be seen. We essentially seated ourselves, and despite the restaurant being entirely empty, it took almost ten minutes for anyone to even come greet us. The waiter took our orders by walking over and staring at us, without saying a word, then disappearing for the remainder of our time there. It appeared that the food was being made by a single person who also brought out dishes one by one herself. Nobody refilled our drinks. Unless the cook was bringing us food, we did not see any staff member the rest of the time. It was distinctly unfriendly and disappointing. The food was excellent, some of the best Thai curry I've ever had. My kids enjoyed their food too. The service was among the worst I've ever experienced. I sincerely hope they can improve in that area so that the food stays around. read more

Phoned in a to go order using the Savannakhet menu. It was the Thai restaurant that was here before Thai by Thai. Ordered the Thai style fried rice, added mixed vegetables, and added shrimp. Also a side Oder of crab Rangoon. The fried rice was loaded with fresh vegetables; cabbage, broccoli, snow peas, carrots, onions, water chestnuts, mushrooms, and peas. 4 large shrimp grilled to perfection. The flavor was fantastic! The rice was cooked well and balanced. This place is our new favorite Asian restaurant in Fremont. The crab cheese Rangoon was shaped in tiny cups. With the mango dipping sauce it was very tasty as well. We will definitely come back here. read more

Watch out Sushi Ninja!!! A new sushi place is in town and it's really good!!! I was undecided on whether I wanted to try this new place. I was not a fan of the old business in this location. We came in on a Saturday around 3...there was only one other table occupied. The server was very friendly and took our drink order right away. I got the Godzilla Roll and it did not disappoint! It was a bit spicy with a crunchy topping just the right flavors and texture! My hubby ordered the Babcock Cashew chicken and it came with a side or white jasmine rice. ...even the rice was good, nice and fluffy and freshly made. We just found a new favorite Asian place! My dish was great. I ordered the bangkok cashew chicken with a medium hint of spiciness, did not disappoint. The tai tea is from a can. The place looks and smells clean. We came in on a Saturday around 2pm and place was not pack, only us and another party. They are completely new owners, we asked server and she mentioned they are not related to the previous owners so the flavors and style of cooking is completely new or different from the previous restaurant this place was. I have driven past it many times and finally stopped in for dinner tonight. The place was busy and the waitress was busting her backside keeping things moving. Tons of menu options, we ended up with Chicken Phad Thai and Chicken, Shrimp and Mango curry with the jalapeño bombs as an appetizer. We chose a medium spice which wasn't that spicy,. Could it be...an authentic Thai restaurant nestled in the small town of Fremont?? Yes, it is! We tried their Bangkok Cashew with Chicken. Ordered a medium spice (options are Mild, Medium, Spicy and Thai Spicy) and it was pretty dang spicy! I couldn't eat much cus it was too hot for me but my boyfriend loved it and ate it all up, in between Kleenex wipes from it being so spicy. The crab rangoons were pretty good and doesn't have too much crab in them. If you're looking for authentic Thai food, then this is the place to go! read more

What a gem in downtown Fremont, Nebraska. The restaurant is small and inviting. From the moment we entered the establishment until we left we received outstanding, friendly service. The menu is extensive. The lunch entrees come with a bit of soup and a small salad with flavorful Thai dressing. A small spring roll is also included. There is a selection of curry dishes. Pa-Nang is a favorite of mine. I ordered that and was not disappointed. The sweet and heat (I ordered medium heat) along with the Kaffir lime leaves made the dish everything I hoped it would be. My friend ordered a vegetable dish. Everything was so fresh! I noticed that there is beef noodle soup, also known as Pho, on the menu. I will be back soon to try their version of the soup. I am sure I will be delighted. Thank you Thai Maki and Sushi Restaurant for bringing authentic Thai food to Fremont, Nebraska. No more driving to Omaha to eat Thai food that often isn't as good as what I ate today. I can only give you five stars, but you deserve many more. read more

Came here when back in town on vacation. I have to say this is as authentic Thai as I've had. For those of you that think Thai is spicy it's not true. Get mild spice and you'll be fine. I tried the Tom Yum soup and Green Curry Chicken both spicy. The soup was definitely spicy, sour, and delicious. Green curry was also excellent. Can't believe Fremont has this good of Thai place. If you've never had Thai get here and give it a try. If you have had Thai get here and get some, you won't be disappointed. read more

WOW! I just moved to town and have tried this place now three times in the last two weeks. We've had Chinese food, Maki rolls, and the chicken pad Thai, and a number of appetizers. Everything is amazing and it's own unique way. The pad Thai noodles were cooked perfectly, which is rare to find. Many places overcook them and they come out mushy. All the flavors are fresh and you can tell they are homemade with a hint of uniqueness in each dish. The pad Thai, I tasted maybe a hint of allspice or something different, the orange chicken comes with fresh orange slices all around the plateaus in a brighter sauce than you get in most restaurants. I can't wait to try the soups and most of the other items on the menu. I highly recommend this place... and it's worth the Drive if you don't live too close. The prices are very affordable and the portions are spot on. read more

We found this Thai restaurant on google. It had good ratings even though that doesn't all mean good. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. We had appetizers, red curry with chicken #3 heat, and peanut curry with chicken. Absolutely delicious. Our server was so very sweet. attentive, and her smile was very welcoming. We will be back when traveling thru Fremont. Very attractive & clean. We were traveling in 5th wheel and were able to lark in a church parking lot and walk to restaurant. Wonderful experience! We miss Carol and Joe, but were hoping that another restaurant with excellent Asian food would replace our favorite. After our first visit last night we look forward to frequenting the new Thai by Thai restaurant that replaced Savannakhet in Fremont. Although there are different management and cooks, the food had similarly authentic Southeast Asian flavors and quality with an expanded menu. Based upon the first visit easily the best Asian restaurant in Fremont and would be competitive with many other Asian restaurants I have enjoyed in the US and Asia. The pot stickers were served with a slightly fried finish and a traditional soy and rice vinegar dipping sauce, my wife pronounced them fabulous. Many of the dishes may be prepared with one of four heat levels up to "Thai hot." Although our favorite Tom Yum soup was different than Savannakhet's, it was still excellent with the hot spice option, but you might want to order white rice. Also my Penang Curry with 5 large shrimp reminded me of Thai and Malay versions with richly spiced coconut milk. Don't miss the Thai Iced Tea, and the fast friendly service. It appears that Thai by Thai has a similar lunch menu that was very popular. We plan on trying the entire menu including the sushi and rolls in future visits. I have traveled extensively, including Thailand, and love having such authentic food available in Fremont. Enjoy. read more
