Honey Chicken, fried rice and green beans.
Sandra D.

Excellent mall food!! Mine was hot. Tastes good. Reasonably priced. If you ate at the mall this is the place to eat. Samples are offered so you can decide what to order. My honey chicken is total deliciousness. The green beans are so good. The rice was moist and fresh. The seating is in the food court area of the mall.

I spent years in New Orleans, and I don't throw this around lightly. This is the real deal. The…read moreclosest thing to true Cajun cooking you're going to find without actually being back in South Louisiana. If you've ever had authentic Cajun food, you'll recognize it immediately. No shortcuts, no watered-down versions. Just straight, legit flavor. The owners are from Metairie, right off the north side of Lake Pontchartrain, and it shows in everything they put out. They've got both cooked and live crawfish, which matters if you actually know what a proper boil looks like. I have zero connection to this place. Found it by accident. I'll be back regularly. Cajun food sits just behind Korean for me, and this hit that nerve hard. Took me straight back to Lafourche Parish and my stepmother's cooking. That kind of food sticks with you. And yeah, it's in a gas station. Ignore that. If you know anything about New Orleans, some of the best po'boys you'll ever eat come out of spots just like that. Bottom line. This place isn't a novelty. It's a find.

They have a great rapport with customers. They also know how to cook a heck of a meal. The sausage has incredible flavor and is so smokey. Makes a great poboy. The gumbo is a flurry of flavors and they all meld together wonderfully with just the right kick of spice. The wings are fall off the bone smokey and just lightly seasoned.

Went looking for Cajun food for Mardi Gras & Tim's was so fun and good we went 2 nights in a row…read more Pros: - Everyone is treated like family, Tim comes around and talks to every table. - The food is authentic Cajun cuisine with loads of flavor - large portions - live music and fun atmosphere - food and drinks specials weekly, check their socials - love the decor, feels like Louisiana in AL - the sweet roll that comes with platters is phenomenal!!!! Cons: - Very busy (was a holiday weekend), which is great for them - could just be slow w service at times. - Expensive priced crawfish compared to other spots in town $45 for 3lb w potatoes corn and sausage. I know it travels a ways to get here, just still pricey - Smoking area in garage/bar seating *if that bothers you* - cold out back depending on the time of year

Had the displeasure of eating here this evening. We ordered three different plates for the table,…read moreand every single one came out cold, not just lukewarm, but like it had been sitting in a refrigerator and never reheated. The only items that were actually hot were the catfish and a hotdog. Our waitress took about 20 minutes to come back and take our order, and after the food was delivered, we didn't see her again for quite a while. That meant we never had the chance to mention the food was cold, couldn't get refills, and were left sitting there waiting for the check. When she finally returned roughly 25 minutes later, she saw that most of the food was untouched and didn't question it at all. At that point, we just paid and left. To make matters worse, there's a section of the ceiling actively leaking a dark, sticky substance that looks like honey, which is pretty concerning. The pepper sauce for the greens also had peppers that had turned completely white, not even a tiny of green or yellow anymore. Overall, a very disappointing experience. We won't be returning.

Our waiter came to our table and gave us some suggestions. I had the chicken and dumplings with a side of fried okra and sweet potato casserole. The dumplings were a little on the cold side, but were delicious. I could've eaten another bowl of that dish. The okra was extra crispy, just how I like it and the sweet potato casserole reminded me of Thanksgiving. The restaurant was clean and it was a nice size. It looks like it used to be a Ruby Tuesday or something similar. All in all, great visit to Walton's!

Our group of four visited on a Saturday afternoon and found plenty of open seating…read more The restaurant has a lovely Southern charm décor and a calm, relaxed vibe--perfect for enjoying conversation with friends. Service was friendly but a bit inexperienced. Our waitress wasn't sure about some menu details (such as whether the vegetables were cooked with meat or meat stock) and forgot one side order. The food itself was a mixed experience. The sides reminded me of cafeteria-style fare (similar to Piccadilly's). The macaroni and cheese tasted like it came from a box, with a liquid cheese sauce, and my meal arrived lukewarm. On the positive side, my husband really enjoyed his salmon croquettes, calling them "delicious." Overall, Walton's offers a pleasant, quiet atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food and service could use some polishing to match the beauty of the space.
