I still like this place and have even gotten "real food" there. Pros: Staff are friendly! They nicely ground the bag of (overpriced) coffee I bought with zero complaints. The breakfast sandwiches and BLT are decently executed, but I'm REALLY not a fan of their bagels. Their bread (particularly the baguette) is fantastic, though. Note: it sells out quickly. You can still pick up your to-go order without having to deal with people. They now have a cute bookshop inside. They make their own cream cheese! Cons: If I'm paying $1.50 for an avocado add on, PLEASE don't let it be oxidized and brown and gross. This makes me sad. Parking is still a nightmare. See above about the bagels. I'm prepared for the hate I'm about to get, but I prefer Bruegger's...which is sad, as I'm sure they're produced and come in frozen. Prices have gone up, but that's to be expected. I would love, however, the option to not add on a side for less moolah. I don't want their straight from the bag chips, random baby carrots, or (somewhat icky) fruit. This is just for the bagels. The good Parking is plentiful and easy in and out. The bagels were pretty good you can tell they were prepared in the traditional boiled manner that results in the chewy outside texture. And they offer just enough Schmear as an extra and will toast it for you. It is a quaint place that offers a place to hang out for a while. TGIF! I awoke this morning streaming high definition lox on a bagel with luscious cream cheese, sliced tomato, red onions, capers and where do I find my perfect lox and bagel? I grabbed my cellphone and went to my go to Yelp app to see what my fellow Yelpers find tried and true. I picked Canadian Bakin here in Huntsville. When I arrived, there were 2 parking spaces available. Lucky me I was able to park and go inside around 1015. The interior is quaint cute and was full of patrons. I walked up to the counter and declared this is my first visit. The lady behind the counter went thru the menu and bagel options. I knew I wanted lox on a bagel and selected the Lox & Loaded on "everything" bagel. She told me that bagel was a popular choice. I picked up a baguette to serve with the delectable pot roast I was preparing for tonight. I asked for my order to be "to go". I did try to take a few pictures. There were two customers in line behind me so I quickly took a picture of the menu. I didn't want to be rude and hold hungry people up from placing their orders. I arrived home and opened up my bagel. I see why the restaurant was full and busy. My everything bagel was the on steroids version as it was huge, smelled fresh, beautiful lox was dripping off the sides all around and my first bite caused several eye blinks because it tasted soooo good. The lox was not overly fake smoked tasting and wonderful texture. I did a double take gazing at this appetizing bagel and devoured it. OISHI. It is always a good sign to see an establishment busy and near full. I see why the reviews are great for Canadian Bakin and I am hooked. I will be back to sample their food again. One of our last stops on our trip the weekend before last. We got breakfast here before heading to the Space and Rocket center. We loved it!! First of all, loved when I searched coffee shop on Yelp, that there were sooo many to choose from in Huntsville. If you're looking to visit the Space and Rocket center, it is only 30 minutes away) so we searched coffee shops on the way and saw this one right in between. 15 min drive from the campsite and right on the road to the Space and Rocket center. ***EXPERIENCE*** Had plenty of seating and a welcoming staff! We came in and tbh the menu was a little overwhelming there are so many options. They bake everything daily. Their baguettes looked incredibly good and very authentic! We ended up getting breakfast bagels. ***FOOD/DRINK*** Since I mainly eat vegetarian, I just asked for an egg and cheese bagel. They have so many bagel sandwiches on the menu though! I think mine was about 4$ which is very good! I also wanted a green tea, since I had a bit of a sore throat. They only had matcha or black tea so I went with English breakfast and added honey! I really wanted to order the cinnamon loaf but they were sold out. It looked so good and you could get the entire loaf for 8$. I was going to take it home for breakfast during the week. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely have to pick one up! ***PRICE*** I thought the prices were very reasonable and lower than most cafes! ***CONCLUSION*** Definitely worth a trip! They run out early on the weekends. I am tired of waiting in line to see that they are out when I get close to the front. This time, there was not a big line and I asked specifically about chocolate chip bagels when I reached the counter; they said they had two. I paid and they pulled the two they said they had and gave them to customer who had placed their order ahead of me. Find a bigger location or make more bagels to sell. This is my Husband's favorite Huntsville coffee shop. We've been regular customers for about 2 years. Pros - Cute location - Cozy atmosphere - Amazing Bagels and pretzels - Lots of great breakfast and lunch options, and breakfast is served all day. The food is great. - Good service - Great coffee with good seasonal flavors - I think they have rewards points through square - A menu on the board or paper menus. This is important to me because a surprising amount of coffee shops don't have clear menus or any menus, or they don't list all their coffee flavorings. - Self-serve water Cons - They run a little low on their best bagels towards the last half of the day, but there's usually always a few options left. - I'm always grateful to see a self-serve water cooler, but theirs needs to be replaced because the water trickles out slower than molasses. - Only 1 or 2 tables for outdoor seating (this doesn't bother me because I prefer to be inside, but it might be a con for some). - They close a bit too early in the afternoon (2 pm), and if you're still in there a half hour before closing, they start playing closing time. - Sometimes paper cups The cons are very minor because overall, they're really great, and if you like bagels, theirs are so good and fresh! My favorite is the poppy seed. My husband's favorite is the everything bagel. He also loves their traditional macchiatos. TL;DR: delicious bagels from a warm, inviting, locally owned joint. Canadian Bakin has moved into its own storefront, much to the joy of carb lovers everywhere. With more room to wiggle, they now offer coffees and teas as well as dressed up bagel sandwiches. These sandwiches tend to have creative and fun names but stick to familiar, high quality ingredients. I haven't tried one yet, but I look forward to doing so when I'm more comfortable eating in (which they do allow currently - I'm just not ready!) As is, I get my bread to go. Options are a smidge limited, but all are tasty. Multiple flavors of bagels (my fave so far is the everything, but I also really like the plain - I'm a purist!), baguettes, German soft pretzels, as well as plain or cinnamon brioche are the staples. However, keep an eye on their social media, as they regularly bake up specials on different days, like Nutella brioche! One day I'll make it by on a Saturday so I can try out the chocolate chip and cinnamon raisin bagels. They also make cream cheese in house. I've only had the garlic so far, but it's the bomb! My wife's coffee was cold, mine in the big mug was nice and hot but nothing really special. I'll be back for sure. They didn't have any hot sauce. Which was sad but not a deal breaker. I always make a point to stop by Canadian Bakin any time I'm in Huntsville! Their coffee, specialty lattes, bagel sandwiches, and breads are all spectacular! My go to is usually the Lox 'n Loaded, but they were out by the time I arrived on Sunday so I went with the Notorious BLT. The bacon was crisp, the butter lettuce was crunchy without being waterlogged, and the everything bagel was soft and chewy with a perfect level of toastiness on the outside. Pro tip: with an everything bagel, eat it upside down so the seeds, onions, and topping goodness lands on your tongue instead of scratching the roof of your mouth. The iced latte was creamy and rich without giving me a stomach ache (shout out to oat milk!) and my partner enjoyed the cortado served with soda water as a palate cleanser. and don't forget to grab a loaf or two of bread on your way out to make sandwiches at home! I'd heard all good things about Canadian Bakin prior to visiting for the first time. I scoped out the menu ahead of time online and saw that they have weekend-only items and specials. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the Pumpkin Chai latte by the time I arrived but I plan to come back earlier next time to try it. Upon entering, I noticed that it was fairly busy with only one or two tables available. There were regulars chatting with staff members and an overall friendly, cozy vibe. I especially liked the variety of seating (tables, high tops outside, a couch with coffee table). The decorations are well-selected and support the coffee-shop aesthetic. When it was my turn to order, the cashier was nice but not overly friendly. She answered all of my questions and the process was smooth. It took about 7 minutes for our food to arrive. We ordered the Notorious BLT on a plain bagel, the Q-becco on a plain bagel, and a blueberry bagel with honey & fig cream cheese.
