Sometimes it is like, ok the food is not bad for what you pay and the other times it is like why do I waste money on this stuff. I was surprised. To say looking at the building from the street that the food would be good may be questionable. Walking inside the dining room was place was clean, the food looked fresh, organized. The food itself was really good. Maybe even one of the better buffets in town. Both the wait staff and customers were really nice. For sure I am coming back. Okay so I have to admit when I go to a Chinese buffet there are only 4 things I eat from there. if those 4 things aren't good then it fails lol but with that being said I liked the angle noodles and the fried chicken if they had some hot sauce hell yeah that would of been extra delicious lol but over all not bad tbh. It was definitely good enough for me to go back again. I Didn't take pictures I honestly forgot because I was so hungry. All in all I'd give it about a 3 out of 5 because I didn't like the white rice it wasn't as flavorful as I expected it to be. With that being said Overall I would eat there again! read more

If "Chinese Buffet" is what you are looking for, you are sure to be satisfied with Meteor Buffet. My review is based on it being a Chinese Buffet and not a Chinese restaurant. I visited this Chinese buffet today with four co-workers (all of them are either repeat customers or enjoyed this first experience enough to return). They offer a wide variety of foods including some American type foods and, of course, typical Chinese buffet items. I fell in love with Hibachi grill, which offered more options than other Chinese buffets in the area...four meats, several veggies, peppers (including jalepeno), rice, two types of noodles and egg. I would go just for the Hibachi option alone. A police officer in line with me was all smiles as he bragged about how the man behind the grill always cooked his plate perfectly. A couple of things that stood out on the buffet...the cheese wontons are the best I have had (and I have had a few!). Fried but not super crispy and stuffed full of lightly sweetened cream cheese. Mmmm... Also, there is a "Love Cake" that is quite delightful. It is a buttery sweet cake baked in a phyllo shell (like a cupcake wrapper). Wonderful! The sushi bar was stocked with several kinds of sushi and, while not outstanding, the sushi was good. The service was more than sufficient. Our waitress was quick and attentive to our drinks and in removing plates. The decor is a little outdated, but that's never a factor for me as long as the place is clean, and it was. A local business, good sushi, excellent hibachi, nice variety on the buffet, good service and all included for a very fair price (about 6.50)...really, what more could you reasonably ask for from a Chinese buffet? read more

Husband and I went to this restaurant for lunch about a month ago. We did not like it and couldn't find our waitress for the ticket. We went up to the cashier to pay who then started yelling across the room to our waitress. The cashier and the waitress had a heated exchange after which the cashier looked at us and said "you did not eat enough". Turns out, it was our fault that the waitress had not delivered the ticket because we left quicker than the average customer. First trip was last trip Saw the crab incident on the news. I was not a fan, sadly. Selection left a lot to be desired and I found myself with little to choose from. I was just looking for the typical buffet choices, but there was way too many American (like macaroni and catfish I mean) choices. Between that, the two dessert bars, and the salad bar, I think there were maybe three actual sections of Chinese buffet stuff, even including sushi which isn't technically Chinese but I'm willing to cut them some slack. But what I had wasn't good. The seaweed on the sushi tasted like rubber and ruined it. The one real winner I found was the Szechuan shrimp, oh and the coconut shrimp. Unfortunately if there's going to be this much variety of other things, the buffet area needs to be expanded because if there's more non-Chinese (I'm not being snobby, I mean the kind we eat here in America) stuff to be seen, then it should be considered simply a buffet of all types of food. I have eaten there ever since they opened. I have missed the times they were not allowed to open because of the virus. During all that time I have never seen a hair Pubic or other. No flies or bugs ever. I wonder if the competition is concerned because of the hard work and effort the Meteor Buffet staff put into pleasing the customers. Surely they won't post false stories or at least I hope not. I ate there tonight and I believe the food was better than usual. I watched and saw nothing that distracted from the excellent meal. It was busy but I did enjoy some conservations with other close by. We all appreciated the good food and the attention shown to us but their staff. I will be back. I have been to other businesses and I enjoyed their food also but I believe the Meteor is my first choice. I watched closely and I never saw one Pubic hair. I suspect they use MSG in their food because I got the dreaded "headache" that I do when I consume anything with MSG... If I could give 0 stars I would. My family and I came here tonight and as soon as we walked in it wreaked. I guess that was a hint to LEAVE. I went to get my toddler a plate and immediately realized that all the food looked pretty old, not fresh AT ALL. I got her a small plate of what looked decent. My toddler started eating, and then I noticed there was a hair that looked like A PUBIC HAIR with the root on her diced potatoes! I told the lady up front and asked her to take me off the bill because I was not eating. She did after a talk with another employee. She then came over and apologized. I couldn't eat there after that so I left with my toddler to get something else while my husband and other 2 children stayed since they had already been eating. I came back to get them after they were done and my husband tells me that he later found A FLY in his food! He told me that they gave him 5 dollars off the total and apologized!! 5 DOLLARS!?! My daughter and her friend also informed me that they went to get ice cream and a fly flew out of the freezer, so they changed their mind! I'm disgusted! I feel as if that small discount does not justify their HORRIBLE, APPAULING SERVICE! We will definitely not be eating here again. read more

I don't understand the previous two ratings. Chinese food = MSG. You aren't going to find very many chinese resturants that don't use it. As far as comparing "real" chinese food to chinese "buffet" food, most americans couldn't handle "real" chinese food. The buffet is a compromise. Some of the food is going to sit there for awhile, its just a fact that you'll have to deal with. Just keep your eye on the buffet and get the food as it comes out of the kitchen. We've been to more than our fair share of chinese resturants and this one is good, no, very good. Right up there with the best of them. A HUGE selection, GREAT service and a fair price. My wife and I ate here twice. The first time was because a friend from work told us how nice the owner was, so we went there on a Friday night when we had nothing else to do. The second time was after church on Sunday for lunch with a fairly large group. We were depressed that it was a buffet. I lived in China for four years, and my wife lived in the same region 2 years, and nowhere can we find authentic Chinese food. The one good thing they did have on the buffet the first time was bao zi (steamed bun stuffed with meat), so we went to town on that one item. The second time we went not even that was there. Everythng else was the stereotypically bad Chinese buffet food. While the other commenter apparently got good service, we did not. Both times our servers were inattentive, and one time they were even more or less openly hostile. Granted, our "group" did change its collective mind a couple of times about how we were going to arrange seating, but even then I felt the anger on her face was disproportionate to the situation. And again I must lament the absence of real, delicious Chinese food in this area. If one restaurant were to start doing real Chinese food, I'm fairly sure they would find an audience for it! read more

I not only usually don't like Chinese Buffet, but also never care enough to post any review about them. However, this Meteor Buffet is slightly different than the rest. It has your usually lines of various of meat dishes, chinese donuts, stir fries, chicken kabobs, dessert line, sushi looking rolls and so forth. However, I like to give them kudos on "special" order! They actually make anything you want that's not on their buffet lines. I ordered some salty and pepper shrimps with heads :) They had it! My friend said he asked them to cook the crawfish differently than the ones on the line before too. The decor is old and the location is questionable, but I got my shrimps with heads lol. The quality and taste was okay. Nothing fancy but edible. I would definitely go back for the headed shrimps =D read more
