UPDATE: My review has been downgraded to 1 star. I would give zero if possible. I have spent the last 12 hours sick as a dog bc of something I ate here! Maybe it's just us, I don't know, but we did not enjoy the food or the atmosphere. We ate around 3:00 so you would think there would be less people but there was not. It's chaos with the loud music and people everywhere. The food was mediocre at best. Even the Mongolian BBQ was tasteless. The 2 stars is for the excellent service only. read more

I have to say I was very impressed by both the quality of food and variety of choices. Everything was fresh, especially the seafood. Both the chicken and red meat options were incredible. No complaints and I'm not sure why this gets a 3, definitely a 5 star favorite in my book. read more

We were greeted and immediately sat. We went up to the buffet and as I came back they were seating someone else at our table. I questioned them and they quickly corrected their "mistake". One individual took a set of our silverware that I caught and he looked sheepish. I had them reset our table so my wife had a place to eat. The food was mediocre and they even had ribs. Buffets are hit and miss. While not a miss, this would be a base hit. Atmosphere is good. Service is good. Food is plentiful and varied. Hot soup on a rainy day is always good. But. Some of the hot food was cool. And some of the other hot food tasted a little burnt. This place has a lot to offer, but the sushi was lacking. A friend once said, you don't get sushi at a Chinese buffet. This is true here. All in all this place is good for the price. Would I come back? Yes. There is nothing here that would prevent me. We went to 88 Buffet today instead of Big Bowl Thai next door (due to Big Bowl Thai only doing take out after 2:30?). The food was good for buffet food, although some of it looked and tasted questionable. The dessert bar was really nice for a buffet, they offer a lot of options. We didn't try it, but they also offer a make your own hibachi! They offer lots of variety's of meats, sides, and sushi. The sushi was eh, but it's all you can eat. The service was okay, they kept our glasses full. But while we were still eating (my husband still was getting another plate and a dessert plate) the server came by with the check and told us to have a great day which we thought was odd. We continued to eat, and they continued to fill our glasses after that so we ignored it but now we see a couple reviews mentioning it so we thought we would as well. Double billed me on a $110 check; I gave a good tip, not that good. Mediocre food, overdone, leathery because it sat too long. Lots of carbs, not a lot of healthy options. Fair Mongolian bbq, they call it hibachi. Its not hibachi. Decent hot tea. read more

The buffet was good. The asian options are okay for the cheap buffet price. The ambiance is also good, and very busy. The food not everything tasted good, some were just okay. They have options for you to do teppanyaki style cooking. Overall ambiance is your typical buffet place. The service was also just okay, not very attentive. I went here for the second time within the last year for lunch with some co-workers. The buffet has a variety of food to choose from. They have a salad bar, Mongolian bar, along with sushi. They also offer other food items besides Chinese such as pizza, mac and cheese, and a few other things. They do have a nice selection of various Chinese items and every thing I tried was good. My co-worker raves about the coconut shrimp they have and how he can eat is weight in it. Unfortunately they didn't have it for me to try on the Friday I went. I did try the salt and pepper chicken and I really liked it. I have not had it before. The lady serving us did always make sure we had drinks and asked if we needed anything else, so she did a good job. The restaurant is pretty large and was crowded, but the noise was not overbearing for a ton of people. With a soda and the buffet I paid a little under $16 with tax. Not too bad for the spread you can choose from. I'll be back! read more

Honestly, not a bad buffet. Wide selection of food and I want to say most of it is quite good. I didn't have much of the seafood when I went because I'm cautious around them but some of my friends did and they enjoyed the crawfish and Cajun seafood. Went for dinner and it cost about $17 per person. I personally enjoyed the fried shrimp and salt and pepper chicken selections. Also, don't forget the soft serve machine as well! Not a big fan of buffet since I end up eating more than I should but my coworker wanted to try them out. They constantly replenish the food once it gets almost low so you will get fresh food. I try to stick to more seafood. I didn't care much for the cold crawfish, not sure why they had to put ice on top of it. They also had saute crawfish, corn and good size shrimp in another section. I tried both the sweet and sour soup and the egg drop soup. My favorite is the sweet n sour soup, it was full of flavors. The hibachi was good but a little bit bland even though I asked for sauce on it. Luckily there is a bottle of soy sauce and Sriracha at the table. I also had the salt n pepper shrimp which was delicious. Our waitress was really good at getting our old plate and always stopping to check on us even when they were so busy. read more

The staff and management is very rude and discriminatory. They like to charge people dinner price for lunch buffet. I warn people before you go to this restaurant that you will be overcharged even if you were paying attention to the time you come in make sure you take a picture because they'll swear you came in later than you did.The waitress didn't not want to give us plastic silverware. They brought the check before we could even get our dessert because they knew they had plan to charge us dinner price for lunch time. The Manager Tammy was very confrontational and wanted to cause a scene because she wanted to charge us dinner price for a lunch buffet. She proceeded to harass us as we try to pay and refuse payment. And then she came outside to harass us further when we left payment on the table and decided to leave the restaurant because the environment was too toxic. We waited for the police and when they showed up, they could see that she refused payment and they had to make her accept the payment and we didn't even get to finish our meal. I give this place a one star only because I wanted to tell the public how they are but they deserve zero stars. She accosted us and brought a male co-worker out there to get confrontational as well and I was with my mother and my handicap brother. We were even double billed in front of the police. I was trying to take my mom out for her birthday. I already told them I will not be back ever again this is the height of disrespect. I warn people please beware of this place. We will definitely be back again! The girls at the front were friendly and were able to get our large church group seated rather quickly. The food was all hot and delicious. I especially loved the food I had gotten cooked on the grill. Heads up though they do charge 12% to large parties which our waitress explained to us when she handed out our checks. Speaking of our waitress... Catherine was the BEST waitress we have ever had! She was always smiling and joking around with our whole table and our drinks were never empty. Everyone loved her so much a few of us plan on coming again soon for lunch just to see her again. The one downside is that the toilets in the bathroom didn't seem to be flushing. The to go buffet is a joke.. everythingtoday during lunch looked like it was yesterday's left overs it was all dry out or it looked soggy. You can't take sushi with your to go Buffett soup is also not included... customer service was rude .. and they are penny pinching at every turn... The food was over cooked and way too hard and others were leathery. The rice tastes like cardboard and it's hard for a Chinese place to fumble RICE ! Drinks only refilled once and they have smaller cups , so we could have used at least 2-3 more refills. Waitress was very happy to bring us our check yet thats pretty much the only time she seemed happy to serve us. Me and my family came to the conclusion that the best part was the canned pineapple and fortune cookies. The atmosphere was probably the only good thing about this place and that's being considerate. Ok. Just a reminder, this is a review of a Chinese buffet. The stars are in comparison to "other" Chinese buffets (not on the same scale as Morton's Steakhouse). I give this place 4 stars bc: 1) selection, 2) service, 3) cleanliness, 4) didn't get sick. Now for the down & dirty: hibachi (yum), hubby had the sushi & liked it AND didn't get sick, the different chicken dishes tasted different, the fried squid was yummy, the cold squid was yummy, crab rangoon has hints of crab, kim chi was good. All in all, it was tasty; it didn't all taste the same. There were so many options including crawfish, squid, etc. Peel-n-eat shrimp were mushy (like most buffets) & hubby said the ice cream was average. BUT, compared to others, for $15 pp, it was a good meal with great service & fun to people watch!! (Lots of people coming in & out. The staff refreshed the food often). read more

The hibachi station was my favorite for sure but I hate that it didn't have any type of seasoning. Also my cup came with onions on it for some odd reason so I asked for a paper cup instead. I went to 88 Buffet with some coworkers for a lunch break and what I was expected to be a quick lunch turned into a huge feast. Admittedly, with the variety and amount of food at 88 Buffet you can definitely get your money's worth. However, I do think they need to work on their appearance and cleanliness if they want to keep me coming back. The hot food was mostly what expected from a Chinese-style buffet: good chicken, beefs, porks and other styles. They also had pretty decent sushi, as much as you want, and also a hibachi bar with some good options. Service was pretty much good, but also being a buffet there isn't too much needed. I did hear about their reputation for cleanliness afterward, and noticed that their current rating is 77 with the state. If that doesn't bother you, and if you're looking for all you can eat under $10, it might be worth giving it a shot. read more

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I certainly would. My family and I ate there on 7/5, and that same evening we became very ill. We were nauseous, throwing up, etc. That went on until yesterday afternoon for the rest of my family, and I'm still currently feeling ill. I called the restaurant yesterday (Saturday) to tell them what was going on and to see if there was anything that could be done (refund wise). Well, after explaining everything to the person I spoke to on the phone, I was told "that happened yesterday, and today is a new day).
