Nice staff. The hostess seated us right away. The dining room has a fun loving feel with bright colors and muraled walls. The menu has lots of breakfast and brunch options. My friend said the Stuffed French Toast was great. It definitely looked good. I had the High Flyer. I was disappointed by the fact that they don't have pork sausage, only chicken sausage. I was also not a fan of the grits. The creamy dreamy grits were just too creamy. The didn't have the texture of grits. But the pancakes saved the meal. They were hot, fresh, buttered, and good. I might go back to actually try a biscuit and perhaps a different entree.

We are visiting from Seattle and Los Angeles our hotel room wasn't ready so we found this hidden gem on Yelp. We were delighted to have the best server her name was Faith she took really good care of us. If you all go there and get her you will be very happy! The food came out hot and everything we got tasted good!

I've tried other franchise locations, but finally got a chance to try the one here in Huntsville. They don't take reservations so I planned on being there early so I wouldn't have to wait, got there at 9:45, worked perfect. By the time we left it was packed and a massive wait. I had the flying biscuit breakfast. The grits were amazing. The whole meal was good, but eggs are eggs. Love the apple butter with the biscuits too. Downside: they told me they don't serve alcohol until 11. Disappointing ... no Bloody Mary.

Service, super. Coffee, excellent. The rest? Meh. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but a restaurant with biscuit in its name should have awesome biscuits, right? A restaurant with the biscuit in its name AND pictures of biscuits on its sign should have awesome biscuits, right? If not, please tell me what I'm missing. I love a good biscuit (bet you guessed this by now). I thought The Flying Biscuit was going to be THE place to meet this craving. The menu had a decent number of offerings, including a small sampling of biscuit sandwiches. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with a side of cheesy grits. The grits were great, the biscuit, though, was dry. Extremely dry. Even the fillings couldn't overcome the sawdust dry biscuit. I asked for jelly and was handed a couple of strawberry jam packets. Not even the jelly helped. I just pulled off the egg and bacon and ate them separately. I'm over this way quite often. An iconic local diner is just a block or so down the road. Their biscuits rock. Everything there rocks. That's where you'll find me for breakfast next time. Come join me.

We had a 30 minute wait for Sunday brunch party of 4. A smaller spot for a busy crowd. Staff to patron ratio is lacking. We got sat on the patio (didn't get a choice) and it was way too hot to eat a hot breakfast dish! We ordered the shrimp appetizer : fresh and hot fried shrimp with pineapple pico. Mimosa brunch (bottle) can get by the glass with several juice options Ordered entrees : Hangover hash 7/10 yummy but lacking queso or sauce , weird chorizo texture but good flavor. Burrito: 6/10 once again lacking sauce or more queso, dry Our server was doing the best she could with as many patrons as she had both in and outside. There were times we were without water, wanted another mimosa, etc. however she was super friendly. Just overworked! Overall, sub par food and some kinks need to be worked out for me to return with a 30-45 minute wait and several tables open.

This may be my new favorite brunch place in HSV! The food was amazing first of all. The Dirty Bird Nashville Hot Chicken & Waffle was delicious. Unique chicken sausage gravy was a hit. Love that they have that option as an alternate to pork sausage! Scrambled eggs with cheese. This dish may look sloppy but it was so savory and sweet, so well put together. Service was magnificent! Jailon was so nice and attentive! She was very accommodating to anything we needed, attentively checking on us making sure we were fine and happy with our meals, even me, being extra, asking for warm syrup lol she made it happen. I recommend her for any party looking to visit this location. The environment was nice. Love the art. Love the location, bar seating available. All of the staff was nice and friendly. I will definitely be back soon!

I got to try out Flying Biscuit Cafe last week with some pals/coworkers. This is a small chain that I believe actually got started in Atlanta - I used to have it on my ATL bookmarks for when I visit my galpal over there, but now we have one at home. Huzzah! Anyway, this restaurant is on the ground floor of what I think is a large office building, though it's also very close to a very large modern apartment complex. The parking lot is kind of behind these buildings so it's a little confusing to access, but spacious once you get there. There's a large patio and a small but very well lit dining area for the restaurant itself. Lots of windows = a little warm inside during July, but the A/C did a good enough job. We were greeted by a female hostess who welcomed me by rolling her eyes. Well, in fairness, I suppose she could've been annoyed with/at something or someone else, but it was the first human behavior I witnessed when walking in, so that wasn't great. She still seemed a little miffed at something but then greeted us and took us to our table. She bid us a much more cheerful farewell when we left, so I can only assume her frustration wasn't directed at us and I merely witnessed it. Aside from that, our service was exceptional! Our waitress was Destiny and she was super personable and attentive. She answered all our questions and gave good recommendations, as well as providing several refills and retrieving a to-go box and our checks in a timely manner. I also feel our orders came out in a reasonable timeframe. The menu has breakfast and lunch options though skews heavier toward breakfast. They do have a dedicated vegan and vegetarian section which is nice. Cocktails are also available if you want a boozy brunch experience. I got the bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwich meal (biscuit + grits or potatoes, I chose potatoes obvi) and a sweet tea. My compatriots got the avocado toast, the honey butter chicken and waffles, and the Nashville hot chicken wrap with fries. Everyone was happy with their food! Just an FYI, the chicken and waffles are made with chicken tenders, not bone-in fried chicken as is, I feel, more traditionally the case. The person who ordered it didn't mind and enjoyed her meal. The Nashville hot chicken wrap wasn't super spicy but did have a kick, per the report I got. The fries were a good addition. Personally, my sweet tea was delicious and warranted a refill. The "moon dusted" potatoes are small cubed potatoes (a bit like a hash imo) with a dusting of a seasoning blend on top. They were crispy and more flavorful than standard salted potatoes. My BEC biscuit was very tasty, though perhaps a *tiny* bit overly salty. The biscuit was super buttery and salty and I liked it, though it was not really a biscuit sandwich I could eat with my hands as it crumbled a bit too much. That said, it worked well with knife and fork. My eggs were cooked perfectly, the cheese was gooey, and the bacon was salty and savory. A small cup of apple butter was also included; I thought it tasted yummy on its own but wouldn't necessarily add it to a BEC biscuit, lol. I'd order this meal again, though I do think the price for the size of the meal is maybe a little bit high ($11 before tax, tip, or drink). Though on second thought, maybe not -- this felt higher quality than CFA and their prices are about comparable. Idk. I saw some folks noshing on French toast and such on the way out and that looked delightful too. Would definitely be down to return in the future to try other menu items or get another breakfast sandwich.

Great service, outstanding food, and just a fun place. This is a place you should check out. The worst thing here is the parking can be difficult. They have a great menu and attentive friendly service. I tried their chicken and sage sausage. Definitely a winner. The Beignet donuts are amazing. The kids loved them. You really need to check this place out. Better each time I go.

    75 minute wait for 8 Sunday 11:30am
    Exxtra L.

I understand it was lunch rush around 11:45am. But 75 minute wait for party of 8 is too long. They sat 18 people behind us during the time we waited for their only large table to become available. Finally got seated and the food came out before the drinks did. Appetizer of Truffle Fries was the size of a side order. Chocolate milk came in a small cup about 8oz for $4. Food quality was only alright, temperatures not hot. For sure not worth that wait. Willing to try again with smaller party and new order.

We arrived at Flying Biscuit a little after noon on a Sunday, so we expected it to be busy. They don't offer call-ahead seating, so we checked in and were told they'd text us when a table was ready. Right away, the noise level inside was overwhelming--so loud it felt chaotic. We first asked for the next available table but quickly changed to outdoor seating because we didn't want to eat in the middle of that noise. Unfortunately, the outside waiting area had no shade, just a few chairs and a bench in direct sun. We ended up sitting on a concrete ledge under a small tree to get some relief. After waiting, we decided to just order our food to-go and eat at the park up the street. My husband went inside to order, but they didn't give him a receipt or even offer one. They have no system to let you know when your food is ready-- you just have to keep checking with the hostess or someone. About 30 minutes later we finally got our food. Thankfully, they included silverware, but the food itself was very disappointing. * Chicken & Waffles: The waffles were placed under everything, so they turned soggy by the time we ate. The gravy was extremely thick, and the sausage was chopped into tiny unappetizing bits. The chicken was definitely NOT Nashville hot--just plain fried chicken with a little seasoning here and there. * Shrimp Wrap: Contained only 4 shrimp, mostly filled with lettuce, and completely missing the pineapple salsa. * Fruit Bowl: The only redeeming part--fresh and good. (I didn't think to get photos until we started eating) For over $30, the quality and presentation were just not worth it. This was our first time visiting Flying Biscuit and unfortunately it will also be our last. Very disappointing experience all around.

    Hangover hash
    Tina H.

I recommend the hangover hash. Everyone who tried it said it was delicious with the chorizo. The biscuit with apple butter was also delicious. We got the champagne bottle with orange juice. With free juice refill, we feel like the $19.99 was a real deal!

Tried this place today. Told there was a 20 minute wait but was seated after about 5 minutes. Told my surprise there were 11 empty tables after we sat down so not sure about the wait unless they were very short staffed. After we were seated a couple was sat next to us. The dude smelt like he just got done hot boxing his car before coming in. We asked to be moved to the patio seating. The hostess was great, My only issue is the hostess said she smelt him stinking like weed as soon as he walked in the door. If she smelt it and thought it was bad, didn't she know everyone in the restaurant was going to smell it too. Why let him dine there smelling that sting of weed. After ordering our food it took about 40 minutes to receive our food. It's Mother's Day I get it. But 40 minutes for some eggs and bacon is a little long. But again maybe because it was Mother's Day. Our waitress was terrible and honestly maybe just needs to be trained or coached on how to be a waitress. We almost never saw her. She took our order both food and drink. Took about 5-10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Forgot the apple juice. Food came and wasn't delivered by her. She showed up maybe 20 minutes after we were eating and asked how our food was. At that time I asked for some butter. It would've been nice to put it on a hot biscuit. I will say the hostess did come back and check on us even before the waitress did. The place isn't big so if we ended up sitting not in her section we were but 15 feet away from where her section was. Our plates were more or less empty and stacked ready to be removed. She came back and asked if we needed anything. We politely asked for the check and went on about our day. I might try it again.

First time trying this place and we really enjoyed it. I went on a Sunday morning around 9:30 with three other people. The service was great and very helpful and the atmosphere was really nice. The food was impressively well seasoned. I got the "Dirty Bird" chicken and waffles (I added cheese) with the chedder grits and it was amazing. The chicken sausage grave was the kicker and that is why I will definitely come back. I gave it a 4 stars because the Avacado toast was a little soggy and we asked for the egg to be fried hard and it wasn't.

Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. This seemed to want to be a foodie destination. The half, fried chicken included a small drumstick, small wing, piece of breast, and another piece that was unidentifiable but might have been a thigh. It had a spicy sweet sauce covering, which we opted to have on the side. That was a good choice because the hint of cayenne was still too much for one diner. We asked about the slaw -- whether it had a cream or vinegar dressing. The server described it as a "creamy vinegar." It made no difference because the dressing was so understated that the side tasted more like chopped cabbage than anything else. Disappointing. Finally, I asked the server whether the grilled green beans were actually that. I was more curious than anything else because grilled green beans would take longer to cook. She said yes, they were grilled. I don't think so. They came out fairly quickly and were pretty universally blackened all over like they were cooked in a skillet. Once our food was delivered, we never saw our server again until I asked for the check. So, what I believe was intended to be an elevated dining experience was simply under executed.

The catfish was delicious, and the mashed potatoes tasted genuinely homemade. The brown gravy was rich and flavorful and paired perfectly with them. My mom ordered the 4-vegetable plate with fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and fried okra. She loved everything on her plate. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was busy the entire time we were there. There was a steady stream of both dine-in customers and takeout orders, which tells you a lot about the place's reputation. My only complaint is the wait time. Food takes a while to come out, especially if you're ordering fried items, but they do warn you ahead of time. Texture of the biscuit could be worked on but it wasn't dry or bland, just different which is why trying things is important! Don't know until you find out. Overall, pleasant service and meal after our convention!

He and the other person, who I think was the manager, that served us took time to actually talk to us, which was great even though they were very short handed. They were very thorough. We got our orders quickly and very surprised. The food was fresh and delicious. Our entrees were perfect size. The strawberry pretzel salad was exceptional. It was listed as a side. I had it for dessert. You definitely get your money's worth. If you want good food and excellent service, I highly recommend Walton's. I will be back when in the area.

Our waiter came to our table and gave us some suggestions. I had the chicken and dumplings with a side of fried okra and sweet potato casserole. The dumplings were a little on the cold side, but were delicious. I could've eaten another bowl of that dish. The okra was extra crispy, just how I like it and the sweet potato casserole reminded me of Thanksgiving. The restaurant was clean and it was a nice size. It looks like it used to be a Ruby Tuesday or something similar. All in all, great visit to Walton's!

It was extremely tender and melts in your mouth! You don't need a knife because it falls apart on its own and it was seasoned to perfection. The smoked wings were delicious as well and paired perfectly with the white sauce. The mac wasn't the greatest but I enjoyed the potato salad. The Texas toast was a great addition and was perfect for creating a little bbq sandwich. My total came out to around $32 which I felt was a bit pricey when I had paid but after getting my plate I realized how large the portions were which totally justified the cost. At most BBQ restaurants I usually finish all my food but here I had left overs so I basically got 2 meals out of the one plate. Another thing I liked is that they have a variety of sauces and they aren't stingy with them. Overall this is a great spot with friendly staff that provides wonderful service. The food is delicious and the restaurant is clean and well decorated. I will definitely be back! I was told that Boarhog's is the best BBQ in Huntsville and I can now confirm that as true!

The fish was fresh, seasoned well and cooked crispy like I requested it. I love their vinegar slaw and the baked beans were good. Not going to lie, I was a bit shocked how small the pieces of fish were considering generous portions of other foods I've tried here. I ordered the 3 piece, thinking I'd have a little leftover for dinner, but nah. Lol. It IS enough for a lunch portion, though. Their loaded nachos are still my favorite thing to eat here!

It had to be at least 75 degrees if not 80 in there and we passed many many empty tables and booths. (Hostess promised to turn air on. Did not. They did turn on air finally after 10-15 minutes, and many other complaints, and moved us when we asked.) Ordered 2 teas with lemon - rec'd no lemon (till asked again) and very little ice. Husband's glass left empty 5-10 minutes. Next, I was disappointed to be told I couldn't have the vegetarian Rueben sandwich (on the online menu but not on in-house restaurant menu tho it contains simple, in-house ingredients. Waiter just said no and didn't check with kitchen.) Husband ordered bone-in rib-eye steak - tasted charred on outside tho it was cooked correctly at medium on inside. Seasoning on it didn't cover up the char taste. I settled for a chicken salad (lettuce with pecans and grilled chicken pieces with honey mustard dressing) but the chicken wasn't tender, tasty or fresh tasting. Lastly, the whole place was disgusting with sticky tables, floors, etc. and restroom was so bad, husband nearly slipped. (Noticed they have a 91 health score - incredible. Did they pay them off?) We're great tippers for great service and food. Too bad. We wont be back - unless management changes. Until then, wouldn't eat here again for free.
