Not worth coming here trust me! A bake shop that specializes in making cakes and cupcakes. You can't just walk in and order a cupcake, like other places. The minimum order is 6! And they arent cheap. So be prepared to wait 15 minutes for a minimum order. I got strawberry shortcake and pretty in pink. The icings of both were good but cake part was less to be desired. The cake was a little mushy and not firm and not tasty. Definitely not of high quality ingredients. It would be nice if they offered other baked goodies that you can get without waiting. On my first visit my guy, was pleased to see a blacked owned business in the area. The owner seemed to be insulted by the comment. She snapped back and said we are a "woman owned business" in a sassy tone. Ummm ok lady, dude was trying to give you a compliment okay! For an expensive cupcake place you would expect better decor. Not sure if the women there are all related but they need to lose the stale face attitude and save the snotty comments and they should lower their prices on their low quality cupcakes. read more

5 stars I give them. I called them up 8 days before my significant others birthday with the expectations of hopefully getting a cake. They gave me the price over the phone and I described exactly what I was looking for and they ensured me it would be perfect. Well time came and I arrived and let's just say the cake was beautiful. The cake tasted like Pillsbury boxed cake mix and the frosting was a mere decoration. He ordered 2 salted caramel, 2 strawberry shortcake and 2 pink lady but....all 6 had the same plain vanilla cake flavor! Such a disappointment. I ordered a fruit bouquet from a company and they sent it to another company to be prepared and delivered. The bouquet was full of cantaloupe and the green balls are honey dew melon. The companies and I attempted to remedy this and redeliver another basket. The morning the delivery was being made, the driver called the recipient very rudely not addressing who they were but questioned the recipient and would not tell them what they were delivering and cursed at him. I found out from the company I ordered from that she couldn't find the address. I spoke to the owners of the company that delivered also and they were previously very nice but then asked me what do I want when I called about there Employees behavior. UPDATE: I think the way this review was handled by staff even further taints the image of this business. I'm actually pretty disappointed. My husband and I drive by this place almost every day. Finally today, after watching some Cupcake Wars, we decided to check it out. To my dismay, this bakery only offers mini cupcakes. I think mini cupcakes are a great addition to bakeries, but to offer these exclusively is not a good move in my book. Overpriced (and you need a minimum of 4) and not worth it in my opinion. I finally got to see this place when they were open! Usually we come out to the place next door for Pho at very late hours and we just oggle at the this place. But for once we stopped by and they were open. So we took a peak around and they look like most Cupcake stores around here. Except they had these Mini cupcakes and they were 50% off! So we started by buying one....and three.....oh whatever....let's take all 10 of them. They were amazing! I love the spicy chocolate one...that was my favorite. Ms. Sandie and Toni are cupcake queens! They have all different types of flavored for heir mini cupcakes. Them little mini cupcakes are so addicting and so good! I love their Andes mint cupcake, Tiffany Blue, Salted Caramel, Red Velvet! And newly added to my list the tres chili truffle! It's good not too overly spiced but you can feel that kick int he back of your tongue. They do all sorts of stuff there. Edible arrangements, macaroons, creme brûlée is my favorite there. While the cupcakes were beautiful and certainly tasty, they were wildly overpriced! This is just flour and butter people! You expect to pay more for gourmet flavors. But $21.00 for a dozen minis is just robbery. Now after getting raked for $21.00, the employee ran my card and had the audacity to show me the screen where a TIP can be added!!!!! Seriously people? The first time I purchased cupcakes from the cupcakery by the time I got them home they were a mess. they come in a box with forms holding the cupcakes. I thought it was my fault. The second time my daughter held on to them very carefully. They were a HORRIBLE MESS when we got to our party. I noticed the forms the cupcakes come in are too big to hold them properly and the form is only around the bottom. The first time the cupcakes were good, this time they were Very dry. I tried to let this go but it's just been rubbing me the wrong way all day so I had to share. I would first like to say I was a fan of cupcake blvd. I now believe it's called cupcake artista. I purchased cupcakes from them before when it was cupcake blvd and they have such interesting flavors. The first time I purchased I knew I needed them in advance so I ordered them. This time my purchase was made last min and I guess that is were the problem comes in. I went to CCB or now cupcake artista thinking I could just walk in and get a dozen and a half of cupcakes with no problem. It seemed to go that way too until I was told how I was basically inconveniencing the store. Now I understand that you may make a certain amount for people who walk in. That my walk in order was unexpected and depleted your supply. But I don't think you should tell the costumer that and make them feel as if they just inconvenienced you. If you would prefer a customer with a large order to call and place an order than you should say "so that we can better accommodate you with more flavor options and freshness just give us a call. Even if it is last min we will try our best to meet your needs." No that's not the costumer service I received. After my experience I told myself I would not be going back. This has nothing to do with the young lady who was helping me. She was very pleasant and helpful. I was told this in mid order but who I believe is management. I don't see why you would make a customer feel bad about purchasing from your store. It may not matter to them since like she said " they are more than a cupcake place" but I will go to Wegmans next time. read more

We walked in to an empty store, stood at the counter for a few minutes, and were finally greeted by a women who was in the middle of eating something, and with a mouth full of food, asked us what we wanted. When we took a few minutes to look at the different flavors that were available (not looking at actual cupcakes, but cards with the cupcake descriptions listed), she seemed to be impatiently annoyed. After all this, we ordered six cupcakes and paid over $21 - I was expecting an awesome dessert! I was wrong! They were mini cupcakes and they were average, at best! Saw the shop on Rt 3 North in Crofton, Maryland while there visiting last week. Stopped in looking for something to satisfy my sweet tooth and, after getting descriptions from the owner (?), tried 3 different cupcakes - chocolate with chocolate frosting, yellow with maple frosting and bacon, and yellow with buttercream frosting. I thought they were all good - very moist and tasty, especially the frostings. Didn't try anything else and didn't have a chance to stop in again before coming back to CA. I visited the shop in Gambrills/Crofton fully expecting to still be visiting Cupcake Blvd as the outside signage still reflects the old business. Walking in to an empty display case at 1pm on a weekday and a sad mix of around 2 dozen cupcakes on the counter absolutely made my heart drop. We had special ordered from the prior business multiple times but don't have any reason to be out that way unless there is a special occasion. I bought a half dozen (Just over $21) of three different flavors for my family - while the cupcakes was okay, they weren't anywhere near as good as Cupcake Blvd. The Salted Caramel was so salty that my husband couldn't even eat it and ended up spitting it out. The actual cake was just okay and the decorations were pretty average. Given the price, it's simply not worth it for me and I will not be going back. read more
