When we were able to finally connect on April 19th to schedule a consultation and tasting she said she would be out of town the next week, but she would pencil us in for May 4th, and call us on Monday, April 29th to firm up the time. Long story short, she did not call, so I called several times over the week, left at least two messages, and here we are on May 4th, our consult day, and she has not returned any of our communications. It's like she skipped town and never came back. Extremely unprofessional! Now we are scrambling to find someone else!

My experience with Leah was a 10/10 from start to finish…read more I submitted an order request using her online system. I immediately receive an automatic reply, letting me know that my request was received and that I could expect to hear back within 2 to 3 business days. Leah exceeded that expectation and actually got back to me within 24 hours. In her response Leah explained her plan and vision, based on the add-ons that I wanted, and even showed me how an element of our theme that I did not know how to incorporate could work on the cake. She sent back and forth examples to really narrow in the vision and provide guidance. Leah even went above and beyond to accommodate an early pick-up time since we were heading out of town with the cake. She was extremely accommodating to our special request for the cake details and the accompanying cupcakes we ordered, and consistently professional and responsive the entire time through. The final product was gorgeous and DELICIOUS. All of our guests (and us) were raving over and over about how good the cake was. So moist, great flavor, and just perfect. The cupcakes were also delicious. I absolutely loved working with Leah and will definitely be a loyal repeat customer for all of my cake and treat needs.

They leaned more towards the standard American pastry in both style and sugar content rather than European, and included a pecan roll, a cherry almond scone, and a danish, but not your gross 7-11 type danish, but a mixed berry danish with strawberry, blackberry, even some plum possibly? An upscale selection of fruits, if you will. Also available were a fresh variety of muffins which looked wonderful and had flavors such as peach, cherry- something, lemon poppy, you know - not just the standard blueberry and bran. I was greeted when I arrived, but it was perfunctory with no eye contact from the employees. They all seemed too busy to interact with the customers, and only focus on making cookies. The staff was very young, and not much emphasis on customer service. Sorry, Crumble cookies are overrated, and too expensive, and I can make better cookies at home for half the price. I made an initial deposit to proceed with the order. In the mean and between time before the party, I decided I should probably taste their goodies. I went to the Crofton Farmers Market, where SBL usually is a vendor. I ordered a few cupcakes and decorated cookies. Whew! They were all excellent! I knew I had chosen the right bakery for my specialty cookies. Side Note: they have a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake that's to DIE FOR! On the day of the tea party, I stopped by the business to pick up my treats. Fun cake pops, chocolate chip and sugar cookies were all in my order. SBL is a home based bakery, so I picked my order up from the family home. The woman that met me at the door was so nice. Just a pleasant encounter from start to finish. The cookies themselves were absolutely perfect! My vision came to life! They not only looked beautiful, they were very delish!
