The Fabulous Event People - Wedding at Peterson Grove in Saratoga

    The Fabulous Event People

Janey and her team did a fantastic job on our wedding at Stern Grove. She really went the extra…read moremile by adding decor and touches to make everything feel amazing. Her attitude is perfect, assertive and super friendly. She brings a whole group of staff with her, which is great because they all know each other and work well together. She even dealt with our photographer who we had hired outside Fab Event People, who ended up being kind of a pain. We were able to show up the day of and leave at the end of the night without having to worry about anything - what more can you ask for?! Thank you so much Janey, we couldn't be happier!

They're not so fabulous, after all. We were excited to work with this company to cater our wedding,…read moreafter Janey contacted us on Thumbtack. Janey sent us over some catering packages and we finally agreed on a menu. When it came to letting Janey know, she informed me that their tastings were $20 and that they do tastings. After emailing back and forth, Janey told me that they rarely do tastings. How can a consumer trust that their food would be yummy on their wedding day if they aren't able to sample the food? I would be a little worried about possible food poisoning. After several attempts of emailing Janey, and giving both her and the receptionist our availability to schedule a tasting, Janey just stopped communicating all together. I can understand a busy schedule (hello, I work and attend two schools full-time AND am planning a wedding!), but to just simply stop communicating with a potential consumer reflects poorly on a company. A simple email would have at least helped. They were still available to cater our wedding since they claim to have hired someone recently who would be able to assist us. However, if I have to be the one who's always emailing and contacting a company, I think I'll find someone else who would be worth working with and spending our hard earned money on. The photos and presentation are pretty, but that's just it. We hope other couples won't run into this problem when planning their wedding, and I hope this review will help them in understanding that customer service goes A LONG WAY!

Overall 3.5 out of 5 (but I round up!)…read more Kids went for a birthday party over the weekend. Ages 6-10 seemed to have fun. Overall felt clean and safe. Still needs a lot more work and finesse to improve. Was also weird they wouldn't let adults drink water while sitting and watching.

I enrolled my son in this camp expecting a structured academic program that would provide…read moremeaningful learning opportunities. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet those expectations. From what my son described and from my conversations with staff, a significant portion of the day appeared to be unstructured free play. While there was some instruction related to the weekly topic, much of the day seemed to involve activities such as playing with Legos and socializing. My son reported spending only one to two hours on the advertised AI-related activities. Another concern was the lack of transparency regarding daily activities. Parents were not permitted to observe the program, and when I asked staff for a detailed breakdown of the curriculum and daily schedule, I was unable to get a clear explanation of what the children were learning or accomplishing throughout the week. My son also mentioned that children ate lunch on the floor and that there were ants present in the eating area, which raised concerns about cleanliness and supervision. When I contacted the camp to discuss my concerns, I did not feel that they were adequately addressed. Instead of receiving specific information about the program, I was told that other children were enjoying themselves. While it's great that children are having fun, I enrolled my son in this camp because it was marketed as an educational experience, and I expected a stronger academic component for the price. As a result, I chose to withdraw my son from the program. Unfortunately, I was unable to obtain a refund. Parents considering this camp may want to ask detailed questions about the daily schedule, instructional time, and learning objectives to ensure the program aligns with their expectations.

We were thrilled to book for an hour. At first we were given a small room, then we were asked to go to a different room which was bigger, medium size. We were fine as it was just my friend and I, the two of us. We had so much fun singing the English songs from YouTube. The only thing is there wasn't a way to input the songs in advance on YouTube. The karaoke system they had is mostly for Mandarin songs. We were told if we want to sing English songs to use YouTube. We were fine with that. Although it would have been nice to have English songs from an actual karaoke system than YouTube as you can do YouTube anywhere, just need a speaker system. But my friend and I still had fun. We were able to sing some BTS songs and 90s music! Overall, we had a blast singing for an hour. We didn't get a chance to try any drinks or foods. Next time! I also want to try some Mandarin songs next time. My friend didn't know Mandarin, so I didn't want to do Mandarin songs since she didn't understand, only sang English songs with her. Overall, I had a fun night! There is a 18% cleaning fee that is mandatory. No happy hour. The room is very clean. No disco ball.

The room had a good sound system and the seats were comfy. The room definitely warmed up but the a/c was on full blast. They will allow some outside drinks but not everything. They have some beverages and food for sale but we didn't order anything this time around. The service was good and it was a surprisingly good time. Standard YouTube set up for song selection and I think only getting an hour felt short but we did pack in a good amount of songs. They give you disposable mic covers for your jam session. I'd definitely come back for another round
