I ordered a custom cake for my son's 3rd birthday. It was suppose to be ready at 10am which turned into 1pm. The time kept getting pushed back, saying it would be ready in 30 minutes each time I checked in. I received the cake and it looked beyond terrible. It was not what the photo inspiration looked like and promised. It looked like a kid made the cake. The owner was very sorry and gave me a refund. I had to go to Kroger to get a backup cake which looked much better. I will not be going back again. read more

This was my 2nd time ordering a customized birthday cake from them, and they did not disappoint!! This time around, I ordered my own birthday cake. The online ordering is easy, and I attached a Pinterest photo of what I had wanted the cake to look like. They responded promptly and clarified details of my order. OMG! They did an amazing job!!! My cake was so beautiful, as you can see from the photos. I ordered an almond cake with vanilla bean buttercream. The heart-shaped cake is enough to feed 15 people, but I think it could feed at least 20. LOL. The cake has 3 layers, was moist and delicious. But since the cake itself was already sweet, the buttercream could have used less sugar. I'll remember to request that next time I order. Cakes U Crave opened in Riverstone earlier this month, and I looove cake and dessert so I knew I had to stop by. They had a selection of a few different types of cupcakes ready to purchase, as well as some different flavored macarons. I got their vanilla cupcake and their Oreo cupcake. The cake was pretty good but I was disappointed to see that the Oreo cupcake was actually a white cake rather than chocolate. I don't think I've ever seen an Oreo cupcake anywhere else that's NOT with chocolate cake. An unusual/unexpected choice. I would have preferred my Oreo cupcake with chocolate cake. One downside is that if you're eager to eat your cupcakes immediately after buying, they are kept in a refrigerated display case, so the cupcakes will be cool and as a result the frosting will be kind of hard/firm. I'll be back at a later date to try the cupcakes after they've had time to return to room temperature, but that day I was really hungry so I ate them even though they were cold & the frosting was hard. read more

We ordered a custom cake for our baby shower. The flavor we order was strawberry and it was absolutely delicious. However I do feel the cake was overpriced. The white topping on the cake was not even and we had to buy our own cake topper. We paid $120 for a cake that serves 8 people. Over all we were satisfied with the cake! Although I must add in, even though the price was the cake was high for what I got (I did expect a little more) they were able to take our order the week before we needed the cake. I figured this was just another cupcake shop, as like many, you'll get the "it's too sweet" or "I can eat only half", but NOPE! This was seriously the best cupcake I have ever tasted. The icing was perfect! You could tell from the taste in quality that this was more than just your normal cupcake. I stopped by Cakes U Crave after reading the great reviews. I needed 4 cupcakes for my son's 1/2 birthday dinner. When I arrived, it was about 1pm on Saturday. Their cake case was very small and very empty with only 6 cupcakes left in the case - all 6 were different flavors. This was fine because I only needed 4 cupcakes and wasn't concerned if the cupcake flavors were the same, I was just underwhelmed with the variety. We got 1 funfetti (which is what the cashier called it) 1 Oreo, 1 red velvet and 1 strawberry. The Oreo and red velvet were both the driest cupcakes I've ever had in my life. If I had to guess, they were likely over cooked and several days old. Both were actually not eatable and we threw them out. The funfetti was alright. It was moist enough to eat but nothing great. Also, it was just a plain vanilla cupcake with sprinkles on top. Not exactly what I think of when I get funfetti. We didn't even bother trying the strawberry cupcake because the other 3 were so underwhelming. My guess is their business is really geared towards cake orders. That being said, I can't speak for their ordered cakes but I would recommend saving your money and not getting their premade cupcakes. read more

Meh. Underwhelmed. And I'm sad because I really wanted to love this place. $2.50 for a 1"x1" petite four - it was beautifully decorated with a tiny rosebud but sadly the cake was incredibly dry. Some petite fours up their flavor game and contain a filling between 2 layers, this was just a small sad cube of dry white cake enrobed in your typical powdered sugar/milk/touch of lemon juice thick glaze. This should have been in the day old bin. $5.50 gets you a slice of cake of the day per the website. While this cake might have more moisture the flavor profile is missing something, as is the frosting- or is this a neked cake?!?! Personally I like a bit more frosting to cake ratio but to each his own. The chocolate cake had the most depth of flavor (and please know that's a huge complement as I am not generally a fan of most chocolate cake, so know this chocolate cake is very flavorful), the strawberry needed more strawberries, the vanilla cake tasted like white cake (no flavor). The surprise was the cream cheese filling, it was fun to taste the cake flavors with cream cheese filling vs the buttercream frosting. read more

There were four tiers to the cake - they were to alternate tiers - chocolate / white / chocolate/ white. One of the tiers was made up of both chocolate and white as if they ran out of batter. Back in 2020 my then fiancé and I were searching for someone who could make our wedding cake and I stumbled upon this shop on Yelp. We decided to try some of their cakes before we scheduled a cake testing and those cupcakes were some of the best we've ever had. We scheduled a cake tasting and the owner and baker Candis helped us through everything. Then quarantine happened and we had to postpone our wedding. She was super understanding and kind. The day of the wedding Candis brought the cakes herself to the venue around 5:30 PM and set them up on a cake stand beautifully. She even brought vegan vanilla cupcakes for some of my guests who were vegan. We cut the cake around 9:00 PM and it was still super moist and delicious. Everyone kept telling us about how good the cake was. I'm so pleased that we went with Candis and Cakes U Crave for our wedding day.
