After trying to work with three electrician, Juan came through. Needed an outlet replaced and it turned out there was an issue with the breaker. Juan was on point! Diagnosed the issue, tested everything and was reasonably priced. Juan also replaced a dimmer switch and installed a motion sensor light. We did get 3 estimates and while Juan's estimate was the lowest of the three (all three were very close by $200-$300 we probably would have gone with him even if he was the highest. Truly exceptional service. They went above and beyond to help me out. I had a small electrical fire that started within my solar panel power box and jumped to my PG&E power box, thus leaving me without power. I'm a first-time home buyer and know nothing about what the process would be like to get a new electrical box installed and how to go about getting my power restored. Juan and his son were so incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful in working to get me get a new power box installed immediately, next day even. They met with me the day after the incident and helped me navigate how to get a permit expedited (that same day). Juan and his son helped filled out all the forms and answered all of the clerks questions. If they wouldn't have gone with me I wouldn't have been able to answer any of the questions and I wouldn't have gotten my permit that day. They showed up the next morning at 8:00am and worked all day to install my new power box. They set up the process to get an inspector out the following morning to review and approve the new installation. Then they helped me with my PG&E call to get an appointment for them to come out and restore my power. All of this have happened the Monday before 4th of July (Friday) and they were doing everything possible to get my power up by Thursday. Unfortunately due to PG&E's side of the process I am still without power, but I wouldn't be this far along if it wasn't for Juan and his son helping me with every single step. I needed an electrical sub-panel upgrade and addition of an outdoor electrical outlet to connect to a water fountain in my garden. I contacted Cal-Com after several contractors failed to either return calls or and/or did not show up as scheduled. In contrast, Juan returned my call within a few hours and visited my home the next day to conduct an inspection and provide an accurate quote. He returned the following day and completed both the panel upgrade and the outdoor outlets. My new panel is safer, everything works very well. His cost was reasonable and when he is finished, everything is clean and restored to a condition comparable to, or better than the original. I recommend Juan Lucas of Cal Com Electric very highly for any electrical work that you may need. He has done 3 jobs for me at my home and each time has been great. Juan is responsive, prompt, knowledgeable, experienced, easy to interact with, efficient, careful and economical. The most recent job involved an expensive light fixture that worked only intermittently. Two other electricians misdiagnosed the problem (including Gentec who charged me a ridiculous amount of money from their standard menu to "troubleshoot or diagnose" the problem, didn't fix it and got it wrong). Juan took one look at it, found the short and fixed it within 30 minutes. I know he does big jobs and small ones for both commercial and residential clients. TL;DR: Contacted Bob for a simple electrical job after he had done one task reasonably satisfactorily years ago, 2nd experience was so awful, I'll never consider him again for future electrical. So the first project I had Bob do was installing ceiling fans in all my bedrooms. Ok work, some concerning buzzing sounds when activating switches, but nothing too terrible. Second job just recently had done, got a new oven, and the way the old wiring was, there was no outlet behind it, just a direct electrical line. Needed it done quick, they were able to get out same day to work on it. Good so far. Bang out the outlet in 15 minutes, which was concerningly fast, but maybe the guys are just good, right? It was around 250 I believe for that short period of time. There was some adjustments that need to be made to the counter top, so we couldn't get the oven all the way against the wall, but when I finally do, I discovered that the electricians didn't measure for the oven and where the outlet will need to be placed with respect to making it flush against the wall (it was about an inch too high, meaning the oven would stick out away from the wall). So I have to call Bob to get the team to come back and fix their error, for which I was charged another 200 dollars. 200 to fix their mistake! When I called Bob and asked him to meet me at least half way on price (which I considered extremely generous, considering their mistake), he was extremely rude and dismissive. Lectured me on how that was cheap and that I was lucky to have them come out for that price to fix their screw up. Safe to say I'll never be using their services again. Recommend no one do either. read more
