You get what you pay for here. The gas tends to be the cheapest in the area. As a matter of fact,…read moreit's probably the cheapest for miles but with that you're almost always going to deal with lots of traffic and customers. For the most part this place is almost always swamped with people, and what makes the experience even more frustrating you'll be lucky if you're able to get a receipt at the gas pump. I also don't recall whether or not they have squeegees, trash cans, or a public bathroom. I've never gone inside, but have never been able to access any of the things that I've just mentioned. For me, you can't beat the prices for gas, but depending on the day, Exxon right down the street from them is sometimes only $.11 more expensive and my opinion is worth the extra amount for a higher quality of gas. Nevertheless, I think this place is worthy of anyone's patronage given the insane gas prices, we have to pay here as Californians. 3/5.

Sign says "Smog Check $29.95", not "Smog Checks starting at $29.95". I took my BMW Z3 here for a…read moresmog check. First guy I talked to was very nice, said I could pull my car right up and he'd get me right away - perfect. Then I pull my car up, another guy hooks it up to the machine and we're off and running. Then he says something about "you're missing a sticker on your hood" - I don't know much about this sort of thing so I ask for some more detail and he mumbles to himself and seems a bit irritated that I even asked the question. I've had several smogs done on this car - nobody ever said anything about a missing sticker. A few minutes go by, as is normal, and he unhooks the machine and tells me to park and he'd get the paperwork going. I go up to the desk after parking my car, he tells me it didn't pass because the OBD readiness did not complete and hands me a bill for $49.95 and offers some advice on how to get the OBD to read better next time - he tells me I need to drive 200 miles. I talked to a mechanic I trust later who basically tells me the guy doesn't know what he's talking about. I need to drive it maybe 20 miles at a steady pace of above 60 but below 65 mph. Anyway, I paid without thinking about it because I was so surprised it didn't pass and was upset that the good ol' days of "pass or don't pay" are no longer a thing. I went to get a haircut next door and suddenly remembered the sign outside the shop saying "Smog Check $29.95" - but I was charged $49.95. I went back after my haircut to ask about this and he says "yours is a "star certified" smog check", which I now know (Thank you, Google) is a thing and this price is pretty much what they cost, but the sign says "Smog Check" with no mention of any different levels of smog checks. When I suggested the sign should state "Smog Checks STARTING at $29.95" the guy laughs and says I'm the only one to ever complain. I don't think so, highly doubt that. So, no more smog checks at this location. No more gas from this location. I'm looking for better service than this. Money's tight everywhere - $50 for a failed smog and no offer for a retest at a reduced rate or anything??? And he basically made me feel like an idiot and offered me bad advice on how to get it to pass on retest - which they're just gonna charge me another $49.95 for??? NOPE - No more Arco, period.
