    They sell cute pens here!

I was in the area for errands several weeks ago and stumbled upon this super cute Pharmacy in the 'City of San Marino,' CA. I came to find out that they carry such cute items such as Morning Glory stationary Aka pens, pencils and notepads. You don't normally find a Pharmacy selling cute stationary?! That and they carry loads of various items here to choose from. I have included a ton of pics below for browsing. I bought me a dream catcher because that is one item I still don't have as wall decoration. Customer Service was topnotch as the cashier was funny and efficient. The dream catcher I bought was $7.77 exactly after taxes. He was like, 'oooh your lucky day.' If I was in the area again, I'd stop by this pharmacy to shop. They also use super cute decorations such as M&M statue and Coca Cola brand of decorations all over the front side of the pharmacy.

Cute little old-fashioned pharmacy with a gift shop and a soda pop foundtain snack bar and ice creams bar, an all-in-one place!! The owner is super nice and friendly, he answered all the random questions about the products, and being they carried such wide range of products- medical supply, beauty products, gifts, fashion jewelry, PPE, holiday decor, cute school supplies- my questions were all over the place.... Sadly, the covid made a major impact on this business too, the snack bar was filled with kids' laughs in the afternoons before covid, the shop was busy with people shopping for unique gift items, but it is all quiet now. They are offering delivery services for prescription refills! please help them spread the word and let's help keep a local business, independent pharmacy survive!!! I got a few gift items and do plan to visit again for their Spring decor selection!

With the need to buy an oxygen meter and I.R. thermometer, most of the major drug stores ran out weeks ago, but this Oasis among drug stores had everything we needed and in a quiet and uncrowded environment. The service was excellent and the price reasonable compared to other stores. Did I mention ice cream fountain? Even if you're not seeking medicine or devices, there is a happy moment to be had here as well, with many Mother's Day greetings and Graduate items to celebrate with. It's a rather large drug store and was packed with everything a person would need in the form of celebration, illness or just plain decorations. I'm glad we found an alternative to the typical big chain stores, and right here in San Marino!

Happy National Ice Cream Day - July 19th - Free scoop of ice cream 4 Yelpers. Got the espresso cookies flavor - generous scoop!

Happy National Ice Cream Day - July 19th!!! Free scoop of ice cream with Yelp Check in :) They were opened at 2pm, and I got there around 330pm, and it was a bit stuffy in there. While waiting for ice cream service, I took some pics and was sweating a bit in there, eeek! With this crazy ass weather, the AC woulda been nice to have on. I got the Coffee and Cookies ice cream - they carry the Fosselman ice cream brand. Cold, rich and creamy - perfect for this hot day :) Also, I noticed that the right side of the ice cream sections - See Part 3 of ice cream pics - caters more to the adults - a lot of coffee flavors ice cream, lol!!! Service was nice and fast. I got to sample the ice cream before making my decision - Salty Caramel wasn't a favorite - I like it better as a macaron, lol! As for the place itself, it's super adorable with its 50s ice cream shop motif. They also have hot dogs, sundaes too! The other section of the shop is a pharmacy - very clean, bright and helpful staff members. Will be coming back another time.

The jewelry is handcrafted, and many pieces include the artist's name and a short bio, which adds such a personal touch. They also carry candles, bags, greeting cards, and products for men, women, and children. The variety is impressive, and I especially appreciated the large selection of handcrafted items. The associates are friendly, welcoming, and genuine. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and I noticed they recognized and acknowledged repeat customers. That's impressive, especially considering the number of tourists who visit the store. Another thing I appreciated is that they don't overwhelm you with emails. Their emails are event-focused and purposeful, which is refreshing. You're paying for quality, craftsmanship, and unique items you won't find just anywhere. The prices reflect the specialty merchandise they carry and the care that goes into selecting it. Parking... well, it's Pasadena! It can be challenging, with mostly metered street parking and paid parking garages nearby, but it's a pleasant walk to the store. I highly recommend Homage! It's a wonderful place to find unique gifts or treat yourself to something special.

Back then, what I remembered most were the beautiful porcelain pieces inside the mansion. Afterwards, now that I keep coming back as an adult, it's the Chinese Gardens that are my favorite. This place is the closest thing to being both in China and Europe. It's all very refined and beautiful. At the same time, it's welcoming and not intimidating. I've heard children playing in the Chinese garden while at the same time listened to elderly people conversing with each other in Chinese under the shade of one of the many pagodas. That being said, as beautiful and tranquil as the scenery is, it's not quiet. There's too many people to have true peace and quiet. Nonetheless, I remember thinking to myself as I stared at the Chinese bridge with 3 arches that reflected 3 perfect circles in the water "I don't want to go inside. This is the type of scenery that painters paint. I'm looking at the real thing." However, this time around I came during a heat wave and I did spend more time in the exhibits than I normally would just to be in the AC. I usually come during fall and winter, but what drew me out in summer was the hope of seeing not 1, but 2 corpse flowers in bloom. Unfortunately, I've now learned that by the time I've learned they've bloomed, it's too late. When I arrived they were both dead, corpses in and of themselves. It would've been better if I had come earlier when they hadn't bloomed yet because at least then they would've still been standing. There's no dress code, but the women noticeably dress up in sundresses both to stay cool and because the setting sets itself up for taking beautiful photos. I would also recommend bringing parasols/umbrellas and refillable water bottles. As many times as I've been here, I'm sure I'll come back even though tickets are a bit expensive at $34 each. Maybe one of these days I'll actually see a corpse flower in full bloom. I'll just need to remember to bring a collapsible stool for the long line to see it.

It's a 100% fair trade shop which made me love it even more. I purchased a beautiful purple wind chime and a cute greeting card for my husband. There was a mishap on the card (another card was stuck behind it - same exact card but I didn't need 2, just 1)! The cashier and I both didn't notice when I was inside the shop. She wrapped up my wind chime and bagged the card (now discovered to be two). When I got home, I phoned them right away when I saw the other card was stuck to it! I explained what happened and asked to pay for the mishap! Gigi was extremely helpful in figuring out how I could do so and thanked me for my honesty. I'm just glad we could sort it out!
