I've been to their other location in Diamond Bar a few times. This is my first time at the San Marino location. The store is small with few seatings in the back along the long narrow space. The interior is nice and clean and decorated with a minimalistic aesthetic. There was a also a line when I got here however went fairly quickly. I really love the different types of specialty jelly they have you can add to your drink. I ordered the misty oolong milk tea with osmanthus jelly added. Omanthus jelly is my go to depending on what type of drink. The drink was not too sweet and had a hint of oolong while balanced with a slight sweetness from the osmanthus jelly. Always like to come back! There are always different drinks to try!
This is my new favorite place to get boba! I love their unique flavors. Their top two were their Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and the Ember Milktea with Barley Jelly. My girlfriend and I tried these two and they were so delicious. I love the tapiochi and the popcorn milktea actually tastes like popcorn but not in like an insane/weird way. The drinks here really do manage to capture the essence/vibe of the flavor. The ember drink has a smoky taste that reminds you of the taste of fire somehow. I also love the tapiochi! Never had anything like that! Also shoutout to Yoyo B who was really cool and funny and offered us great suggestions on drinks based on what we typically would order.
Aesthetic boba shop with unique drinks in the San Marino area! I got the popcorn milktea with brown sugar tapiochi and it was good, but felt that it could've been better. I was skeptical about the 'popcorn' flavor, but I actually liked it. However, the drink was on the milkier/watered down side. I would've liked more flavor. I did enjoy the brown sugar tapiochi which was soft, chewy, and provided a good amount of sweetness. For around $8, it was on the pricier side for a boba drink. The interior is pretty and I like how the staff does crowd control. They only have a hallway where you can sit with no tables, so not the most ideal for a longer stay. They do have tons of free and easy parking in front which is a plus. I would definitely come back to try the other drinks before I decide to recommend this chain to others.
It was ok, had higher expectations. Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly ($7.85) Tea flavor could be stronger. Has some oolong taste, and a bit nutty after taste like the staff member mentioned. Not too sweet, creamy but not too creamy. The barley jelly is my favorite! It has so much flavor!! Perfect ice is perfect. The ambiance is nice just like the Diamond Bar location. It does feel a bit smaller and crammed though. Parking in the front is free. Had to park more to the left side though. They offer free lemonade water (spa water) right outside the entrance and sunscreen too! Even though there's a lot of people, I didn't have to wait too long. The staff member that helped me was very nice. I've like their other drinks before but just not the drink I got this time. Also, the price point is very high.
Finally had the chance to drop by and try this place! We've always driven by and seen a line but never had the time to go! But we had the chance to go last week and wow! They have the art of lines down to a science! Their store from the outside looks decently sized, but when you go in there's like this really tiny hallway where there are like these seats that are on a concrete slab which makes that hallway even smaller. I didn't really like the flow of the store because of that because there's this big square room that sticks out (I think this is there kitchen?) It feels so unnecessary, aren't boba shops suppose to feel welcoming? Because the size of this shop it can make the line stack up even when there's not a lot of people. Pretty smart for them because what drew me is was the line and this shop is on the main room with a subtle sign so it can be hard to miss But aside from that I enjoyed their drinks! Their boba is so unique, it's like a mochi boba fusion - really yummy! I got their popcorn drink and my fiancé got their osmanthus drink They both were really good! But I preferred the osmanthus drink because the tea was so strong and flavorful but not bitter! Drinks are a bit pricy and one size only I would like to come back but it would have to be a like a once in a while treat
I tried their limited edition matcha duo einspänner and really enjoyed it. The dark green layer on top looked beautiful and tasted just as good. I also appreciate that their drinks aren't overly sweet. It was perfectly balanced without needing to adjust the sugar level. The place itself is very aesthetic and I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Overall, a great experience. I'd give it a solid 4/5.
I got some Torotea deliver by my friends who were in the area so take note that I got this tea probably an hour past when I was supposed to drink it lol. I ordered the Koan-Im Oolong milk tea with their tapiochi, and the misty oolong milk tea with creme brulee and also tapiochi. I think that I generally prefer standard boba to the tapiochi topping, it is more of a mochi style, easily chewed than swallowed. As for the teas themselves, I greatly preferred the Koan-Im's darker flavor to the light of the misty one, and the creme brulee top was pretty tasty. I don't think this is one of my preferred places, but also maybe it is because I didn't get their specialty popcorn milk tea. No clue about the ambience inside, since I got it delivered, but their website and cup holder that the drinks came in were very aesthetic!
Went on a Saturday late morning and got parking right in front! Saw a Nice seating area in front and walked in. I was instantly saw how. Ice the interior looked. I saw to my right a very kind person behind the counter, Mathew. He walked me through the menu and offered the popcorn milk tea and the jasmine oolong. Talked to Mathew for a few minutes and he talked About the jellies they put I. And everything. Got my order with these fancy carry cases!!! The taste of the popcorn miles... OMG! The initial Sip was memorable! Later on my long drive I finally took a sip of the jasmine oolong... was still cold and I personally like this a lot more than the popcorn one. Not saying one is less than, but I personally liked the flowery sweet of the jasmine milk tea. When I am in the area again, I plan to come Back!!
The Tapiochi here at Torotea is literally the best topping in a milk tea that I've ever had. And I've been an avid milk tea drinker for almost all my life, LOL. I loved the square-ish shape, size, and texture of it. It really WAS like mochi boba. The projector menu was clear to read and pretty cool! The shop is quite small with not a lot of standing/sitting space. There are a lot of options for drinks, so I honestly had a hard time deciding because everything seemed so good. I got the popcorn milk tea, less sweet, perfect ice, and black tea Tapiochi. I would probably opt for perfect sweet next time, as the popcorn flavor wasn't too apparent. I tried the brown sugar Tapiochi in a different drink, and I definitely prefer the black tea Tapiochi. I liked the flavor of the black tea over the sweeter brown sugar. There is a decent amount of street parking and a bathroom. We made the drive from LA to come here, and I would do it again just to have the Tapiochi again. There's also many drinks I'd like to try. Definitely recommend!!!
look i am a broke college student and id spend my hard earned pennie's at torotea im not even joking. i've got the worst sweet tooth on planet earth like its BAAAAAD i get everything 150% sweet, but i needed to go lighter today. I was close to torotea and never had it before.... so i was like "what if i get something unsweetened and pray i can handle it--" OMFG THE QUALITY OF THIS PLACE IS GOOD. like ugh i love when i can trust a chain the bc the Manor Black Milk Tea was genuinely delicious unsweetened it's like magic. call me unc for not getting something with sugar and actually enjoying it. look and i'm a former bobarista too i know what good tea is :/ ?!?! Genesis behind the counter is SOSOSOSOSO SWEET and tolerated me interrogating her for five minutes about the flavor profiles of all the teas, especially since im into stronger stuff like black teas and hojicha. her energy was unmatched too yall give her a raise nah actually give her the franchise?! I slurped up that thing in 4 minutes and here's proof: XOXOOOO :P (ps: also i see where my 8 dollar drink is going bc why does every torotea hire a personal architect to make the inside look like a foodie influencer drew what they thought a cave in the desert looks like... in a good way)
We tried the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi, Matcha Einspanner, & Jasmine Oolong Milktea. Honestly, all the drinks were really good. The Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea had a great, strong tea flavor, which I really liked. The Matcha Einspanner was a bit sweeter than I usually get, but it actually worked really well and balanced nicely with the matcha. The Popcorn Milk Tea was surprisingly good, too. It doesn't really taste like popcorn, but it has a unique flavor that pairs well with the topping. I appreciate that the drinks aren't overly sweet at their regular level. The place itself is very aesthetic and clean, though there is minimal seating inside. As for parking, we were able to find a spot in front, but there aren't many spaces. I'll definitely come back to try more drinks on their menu.
Great drinks and mellow location. Street parking is a little tricky since it's on the Main Street. Love the samples they give you, different each day to explore all the flavors. Love the mochi boba things they offer, unique flavors. Most if not all of the cashiers have been very friendly and helpful. Only one did not really know what she was selling but she might have been new. The ambience is quiet and kinda small not a whole lot of tables but interesting sitting areas.
First was greeted by one of the friendly staff with a sample of Zesty Oolong. I was debating to order other items but that sample just left me with such impression and I had to order it (perfect sweetness and perfect ice) While waiting, my husband found me and ask what am i doing in a spa needless to say, the ambiance is definitely a world apart from other places. To me Zesty Oolong is similar to a HK lemon tea but this is much more elevated. read more
3 stars After hearing some friends rave about Torotea, I decided to pick up some drinks to try. The service is spotless! The cashier knew his tea and really helped me pick my drinks. There were samples to try, which I believe gets rotated. These were the drinks I got: Pinewood Milk Tea ($6.85): It was good. It tasted like a lighter version of earl grey. 3/5 stars Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea ($6.85): Also good and very light. This one was supposed to be roasted, but it didn't really stand out. 3/5 stars Both teas I got were quite light. I genuinely don't know if it really lives up to any of the tea shops in Alhambra, but it was decent. Price is on the pricier side. Customer service was great though. Parking is street parking, which is free. I'll come back to try other drinks with their toppings. But for now 3 stars.... read more

The popcorn milk tea was recommended as the drink to try if it's your first time at Torotea. It definitely has a "popcorn" test (mainly in the jelly!) which is unique from other drinks I've tried. Very strong tea flavor which is nice. The matcha einspanner was good but tasted mostly like milk honestly. Inside, the layout is a bit difficult for groups because it's mostly a long hallway, though a very cute aesthetic. They're super friendly to dogs and I was able to bring mine in while waiting! read more

Prices are around $6.5-$8.5. I tried the dalgona latte and it was pretty good -- smooth, creamy, and nicely balanced in sweetness. A solid choice if you like coffee drinks with a unique twist. My brother order the brulle creme is the best! I really like thedalgona the cream is salty read more
I'm a big critic of boba. I grew up in the 626 and have been through the craze with Half & Half, ShareTea, GongCha, and more. When I saw another trendy boba shop open up in the area, I was initially skeptical despite hearing all the rave reviews about Torotea. But after coming here around 7 times now, I can confidently say Torotea is worth the drive and wait. When you arrive, you're introduced to a modern, sleek space with a minimalist look. There is very little tabletop seating, and it's very much an order-and-go place. (Don't recommend trying to study here.) BUT the boba and tea are where they stand out. My personal favorite so far (and the one I've gone back for time and time again) has been the crème brûlée ice milk drink. Trust me on this one: it's the PERFECT combo of creamy milk mixed with roasted tea and the satisfying chew and texture of their grass jelly boba. I'm completely obsessed with this combo and recommend it to everyone who asks me what to try. You won't be disappointed! Plus, breaking the creme brûlée top is so fun! On the plus side, they also have samples up front of their most popular tea flavors, which is great, especially if you want to try something new but don't want to risk buying a whole drink. (Trust me, I've been there!). Service is quick, friendly, and attentive. Even if the line looks long, the most I've waited is 15 minutes. Although located on a busy street, parking is plentiful and free; I just park in the front! Would love to swing by the 626 again soon! (Or can they please make a Torotea in the OC?) read more

Would give 5 stars just for their tapiochi drinks (tapioca and mochi jelly in their drinks) and more of 4 stars for their drink base! This place is pretty small so the line often starts outside waiting and then you can order inside where the workers give you samples of what they brewed. I got to try their black tea which was sweetened very well. I got the: Manor Black Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi (4.5/5): The Manor black milk tea was deep and rich in flavor with a milky, creamy finish to the base. The start of the show really was the brown sugar tapiochi that I got as an add on. It was the perfect consistency of tapioca and mochi with a jelly like bite to it. This was super unique you don't really find anywhere else in boba shops. They are generous with their tapiochi toppings bc when I got to the end of my drink it was evenly distributed. I do want to come back to try their popcorn milk tea since that's what they are known for. Maybe when I'm feeling adventurous lol. read more

I've heard alot of good things about Torotea, so I knew that I had to give them a try when I was back in the SGV. The ambiance is minimalistic and it looks like a trendy space to enjoy the drinks with someone. There's been talk of long lines, so I made sure to place an order online ahead of time. The drinks are all pretty unique, we ended up getting the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi ($7.85) and Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly ($7.85). I love Assam tea in general, so I really enjoyed the Popcorn Milk Tea. I got it less sweet and it was the perfect amount. The Ember Milk Tea is a blend of barley tea and roasted oolong tea and I also enjoyed trying it, although I would order the Popcorn Milk Tea over it. Overall, I would say Torotea is pretty good! It's definitely has its own unique teas to make it standout, so definitely give them a try if you're looking for something new. read more

I love the popcorn milk tea drink! That's all I get here. Haven't really tried anything else. I love the tapioca mochi much more than boba. It's unique and has a nice soft and chewy texture. Staff is friendly and helpful. read more
This is probably one of my favorite teas in SoCal. The popcorn milk tea has such a nostalgic flavor that I can't place. While the tea flavor isn't super strong, it's one of those drinks where if it was removed you would definitely taste a nuanced difference. The tapiochi texture is like konjac jelly -- for those who are unacquainted, it's like a textural identity crisis between boba pearls and lychee jelly. They also come sweet so I felt like less sweet was a little more sweet than I was expecting. I would definitely come back for the drink and probably just go sans-topping from personal preference but if you're waffling between it definitely try it once for the experience! read more

I'd heard great things about Torotea but had always been hesitant because of the long lines. Finally stopped by on a rainy morning -- we got lucky with no wait at first, though a line started forming shortly after. The vibe and decor are clean, calm, and modern. The service was friendly and helpful, though the space itself is quite small with a long, narrow layout. I really enjoyed the tea, especially the signature popcorn milk tea -- perfectly balanced without needing to adjust the sweetness. The topping was a standout too, with a texture somewhere between boba and mochi -- super satisfying. Definitely worth a visit! read more
Had to check out what the hype was about. Came here at 2:30pm on a Sunday. There were quite a lot of people inside and outside but the line to order was only about 3 people. The lead took our order. She was very enthusiastic and friendly. She walked us through the drink and her recommendations and listened to our preferences. 10/10 would hire Joy. I think they should create a better sign of where the line starts outside instead of having a little faded tape that says "Line starts here" on the floor. We go the Oolong Tea and Ember Milk tea. I thought the ember tea was pretty bland and watery granted I got it unsweetened but I was unimpressed. read more
Finally got the chance to try out the famous Torotea now that a location popped up out in the Los Angeles area. I understand the hype! ** Location: located along the main road on Huntington Dr but usually should not have issues with finding parking outside! ** Ambiance: moody lighting with neutral/beige furnishings. They even have the perfect lighting/platform near the back to take photos. Not a place to sit down long term and work but there are benches along the wall to sit and wait for your drinks! ** Service: line was short when I got there around 4:30 PM on a Sunday and I would say the drink came out around 5 ish minutes! ** Drink: got the cassia milk tea with the black tea jelly tapiochi with "perfect sweet" level! I would say it is a bit milk forward but, as the name implies, it was the perfect degree of sweetness. Nice subtle/smooth tea flavor with some undertones of malty flavor! read more
Torotea never misses. I dont think I've been this addicted to boba in a while LOL. My go to is the misty oolong milk tea, less sugar w/ brown sugar tapiochi! The tea flavor is always on point. I've tried several drinks and they're all 10/10. Service at this location is friendly and they have mini samples! The interior/ design is beautiful as well. I just wish that they had some seating to hangout inside, but everything else is perfect. read more

Popcorn milk tea?!!!! I've seen this place viral online for this tea, so I of course had to try it. I went on a weekday afternoon and there was no line, and staff were very welcoming for my first visit and had no problem explaining what was in their tea! The interior is very modern sleek with a touch of boho - it lacks your traditional tables (except for 1 in the back) so it's not good for groups or staying for a long time but it's great for tea on the go! I loved that they had sampler tea by the register to try (garden oolong cold brew tea). Outside they have complimentary citrus water to drink while you're waiting. Such amazing hospitality! I got the Popcorn Milk Tea with their speciality tapiochi (tapioca and mochi hybrid- SO unique and yummy). You truly can taste a buttery rich flavor like popcorn which is so fun. My partner got the Ember Milk Tea with barley jelly, that has a light roasted barley tea and dark roasted oolong tea mix base. He liked the mixture of the tea and the barley jelly, which I also loved as well as we are barley tea lovers and never seen it in jelly form before! I love torotea! I'm so glad to see there's a San Marino location because Diamond Bar is so far for me, even though, San Marino isn't the closest, it's still closer. My favorite drinks are the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and the Crème Brûlée Ice Milk with Brown Sugar Tapiochi! The Crème Brûlée is really good but definitely on the sweeter side, I wish the sweetness level could be adjusted because though I enjoy the drink, it's starting to become too sweet for me :( The tapiochi has a good texture to it, it's so soft and chewy, and is something I always look forward in my drinks at torotea! read more
Fresh brewed tea. Nice modern space. Unique flavor profiles and toppings. I went with the jasmine oolong with roasted barley jelly. I can't say I've have either, but both were good. I really wanted to try the popcorn milk tea but I was told the "milk" is a mix of non-dairy creamer and a touch of cream. I'm not a fan of non-dairy so went with the pure tea. Parking was available on a Sunday afternoon. Please come and create your own adventure. read more
The line was out the door on a rainy day which I did not anticipate at all. Totally worth the wait. The wait time is a little long but not outrageous. The service is extremely friendly and courteous. One of the employees came out with umbrellas in hand offering them to people standing in line outside in the drizzle. Thoughtful. The drinks are aaaaaaamaaaaaazing. They had samples up front of one of their most popular milk tea flavors (I forget which) and it was soooooooooooooo good. The recommendation and sweetness level I ordered for everything was "perfect sweet" which really was perfect. I got them all without ice too. The ambience feels like a club almost but a daytime club. A milk tea clurrb is my kinda club. This place is super trendy and modern and cool. Again, the drinks are incredible and totally worth it. If you think the line looks long, don't worry, it's totally worth it and you will not regret it. Loved it. I ordered the ember milk tea with barley jelly, the cassia milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi, as well as the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi. The pinewood pure tea is nice but just tastes like black tea that is frothed on top. No frills. Everything tastes of good quality and use nondairy creamer for all of their drinks (for my lactose intolerant homies out there or for anyone worried about their dairy intake). The jelly/tapiochi are yummy but I will say that they can be a little tricky to drink/get it through the straw so if you're someone who gags easily or is concerned about choking hazard (children, elderly, or otherwise), something to keep in mind. They have a basket of torotea stickers up front for the kiddos or anyone who wants one. I am now the proud owner of a phone case that says torotea on it hahaha. Man, this place is so good. To tea or not to tea is the question. :D That being said let's delve into my review. Torotea is a cute lil teahouse with unique handcrafted teas and cubed toppings. They are nestled in the heart of my favorite classy neighborhood San Marino. It was by mere chance that I stumbled upon this tea house while driving on Huntington avenue. I made a quick stop and parked on the side street. It seemed very popular among young Asian high-schoolers. I was warmly greeted and perused their menu projected on the wall by a projector. After minutes of deliberation, I opted to go for a Calamansi Oolong Tea x toppings. I thought it was uniquely refreshing with subtle lime taste. Interior layout was minimalist and modern. Atmosphere was vibrant. Music was a bit loud to have a convo unless you're used to shouting. lol. Prices seemed pricey. But the teas quality and cute cups may justify it. Staff were nice and professional. Overall, I had a nice experience and enjoyed an iced calamansi oolong tea. I shall recommend this tea house. read more
This place has been on my bucket list ever since they opened and it was just as good as I thought it'd be! I came on Friday night and this place is such a warm and cozy vibe. Great for a solo adventure or even an after dinner treat with friends. They sure can get busy so plan accordingly! The interior definitely has that minimalist vibe and is great for those aesthetic boba pics. There's seating, however the place is quite narrow so only good for groups of 1-3. I wouldn't recommend this place as a study spot. There is a handful of stellar options, it was hard to decide. Shout out to Mikyle and Jacqueline for the great service and for helping me figure it out!! You really can't go wrong with the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca. For someone with a sweet tooth that's trying to lower their sugar intake, this was a good option. I ordered it less sweet and the popcorn flavor really carried through. Their tapioca is not the traditional kind. It is far better in my opinion. They are more like tapioca cubes but each one was full of sweetness and still fun to chew. It really hit the spot. So glad most of their milk teas are nondairy. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu! Lots of street parking, but not too sure about bathrooms . read more
My first time at this Torotea location! There are a couple seats but I wouldn't recommend planning to hang out here and sip on your drinks if you're in a group. It was perfect for me though since I was just with one other friend Osmanthus citrus refresher: 5/5 I got this with osmanthus jelly, perfect sweet, and less ice. This was my ideal drink since it was still sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet like a lot of boba shops. The osmanthus jelly is def one of my fav things from here, especially since you can't find it at most spots Note: my go to is usually the creme brulee icemilk which I would recommend if you're in the mood for a sweet milk drink read more
