I absolutely love the drinks at Torotea. Their drinks taste fresh and distinctive. They look aesthetic too. You can tell that they use high quality tea and ingredients. A must-try is the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. This is a rich blend of assam black tea and creamy milk with a toasty buttery popcorn twist. It is my husband's go-to drink. Another drink I would recommend is the Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi, my go-to drink. This drink has a comforting aroma of cinnamon with the maltiness of a milk tea and the creaminess of a latte. Their tapiochi is made in-house daily and is super delicious. This topping feels like boba, mochi, and jelly all in one. The texture of it is nice and enjoyable to chew. It also seems to pair well with basically any drink. Definitely check this spot out if you have not yet. It is unlike any of the other boba shops around. There are plenty of parking spots directly in front of the shop.
Found my new favorite tea spot! The line was a little long for a Friday afternoon. Torotea does something really clever instead of the usual boba, they pair their teas with flavored jellies, and it completely changes the experience. We tried three drinks and loved all of them: Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly is floral and fragrant, the jelly added a delicate sweetness. Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Jelly is rich, comforting, and the brown sugar jelly melts perfectly into the milk tea. Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly is smoky depth from the tea with a subtle nutty chew from the barley jelly. The jellies are so delicious. The seating area is pretty limited and the space feels a bit narrow/tight, so it might not be ideal if you're looking to sit and linger. Best for grabbing your drink to go or a quick sit down.
My new favorite tea spot! Rarely does a tea spot live up to the hype, but Toro tea has done it! We came in on a Saturday, and surprisingly it wasn't too crowded! Everyone talks about the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. It sounds a little unusual at first, but it ended up being SO good! The black tea with the buttery popcorn twist somehow works so well together! I usually don't like boba, but I'm a fan of their tapiochi! The texture is soft yet springy, and the best part is, it holds up really well the next day (unlike boba)! We also tried a few other drinks like their Mulberry Oolong with Osmanthus Jelly, Calamansi Oolong, Ember Milktea, and Gardenia Oolong. The Gardenia Oolong comes in a larger glass bottle as a pure tea. We enjoyed all of these drinks as well, but the Popcorn Milktea was our fave!
Having tried their other locations in Chino Hills & Diamond Bar, I had to check this location out. First impressions is that their shop is very clean. This shop compared to the other locations is that this shop is more vertical. Parking - Free street parking, no designated parking lot. Staff is quick, friendly, and very casual overall. They'll call out your name when your order is ready, very quick even when it's packed. My go to is always the Popcorn Milk Tea which is a drink that you really can't get anywhere else. Very refreshing and one of their signature and most popular drinks. Highly recommend. My wife usually gets the Cassia but this time around, she tried the Koan-im Oolong Milk Tea which is just another name for tieguanyin or iron buddha type drink. Very refreshing as well and easy to sip. Highly recommend if you want a more floral type drink. Very happy about our experience with Torotea overall, one of the best shops with very high quality drinks. I hope one day they can add drinks with bigger cups, it's just too addicting!
Expect to wait in line, but there is cold cucumber mint water available outside so you can cool off while you wait - such a caring and thoughtful touch. I was surprised that all the drinks with oolong was an additional 15-min wait. Since it's the base of so many of their drinks, why would that not be constantly brewing? There are seats inside and outside, but it can feel a bit crowded. All the drinks on the menu taste refreshing, unique, healthy, and upscale. There's a natural feel to the inside decor.
3 stars After hearing some friends rave about Torotea, I decided to pick up some drinks to try. The service is spotless! The cashier knew his tea and really helped me pick my drinks. There were samples to try, which I believe gets rotated. These were the drinks I got: Pinewood Milk Tea ($6.85): It was good. It tasted like a lighter version of earl grey. 3/5 stars Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea ($6.85): Also good and very light. This one was supposed to be roasted, but it didn't really stand out. 3/5 stars Both teas I got were quite light. I genuinely don't know if it really lives up to any of the tea shops in Alhambra, but it was decent. Price is on the pricier side. Customer service was great though. Parking is street parking, which is free. I'll come back to try other drinks with their toppings. But for now 3 stars....
Very cute boba shop! Boba barista answered all the questions i had about the menu and was very patient. They have street parking in front of the stoor Jasmine oolong milk tea 4/5 it is caffeinated and was the perfect pick me up for studying. The milk tea flavor was light. I got it with black tea tapioca and this really stood out to me. I reallyyyy like the black tea tapioca!! It reminds me of when my mom used to make it at home Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi 4/5. Imagine yourself walking through Disneyland and you smell popcorn. This is what the drink reminds me of, the popcorn flavor is very very subtle and not overpowering. It's great to try but i would personally try other drinks when i come back Oojicha Einspanner 5/5!!!!! So yummy!!!!! I would get this drink again!! A little grainy but it has a great warm and nutty flavor. FYI For the einspannser you can't make any adjustments
First was greeted by one of the friendly staff with a sample of Zesty Oolong. I was debating to order other items but that sample just left me with such impression and I had to order it (perfect sweetness and perfect ice) While waiting, my husband found me and ask what am i doing in a spa needless to say, the ambiance is definitely a world apart from other places. To me Zesty Oolong is similar to a HK lemon tea but this is much more elevated.
The popcorn milk tea was recommended as the drink to try if it's your first time at Torotea. It definitely has a "popcorn" test (mainly in the jelly!) which is unique from other drinks I've tried. Very strong tea flavor which is nice. The matcha einspanner was good but tasted mostly like milk honestly. Inside, the layout is a bit difficult for groups because it's mostly a long hallway, though a very cute aesthetic. They're super friendly to dogs and I was able to bring mine in while waiting!
I've been to their other location in Diamond Bar a few times. This is my first time at the San Marino location. The store is small with few seatings in the back along the long narrow space. The interior is nice and clean and decorated with a minimalistic aesthetic. There was a also a line when I got here however went fairly quickly. I really love the different types of specialty jelly they have you can add to your drink. I ordered the misty oolong milk tea with osmanthus jelly added. Omanthus jelly is my go to depending on what type of drink. The drink was not too sweet and had a hint of oolong while balanced with a slight sweetness from the osmanthus jelly. Always like to come back! There are always different drinks to try!
This is my new favorite place to get boba! I love their unique flavors. Their top two were their Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and the Ember Milktea with Barley Jelly. My girlfriend and I tried these two and they were so delicious. I love the tapiochi and the popcorn milktea actually tastes like popcorn but not in like an insane/weird way. The drinks here really do manage to capture the essence/vibe of the flavor. The ember drink has a smoky taste that reminds you of the taste of fire somehow. I also love the tapiochi! Never had anything like that! Also shoutout to Yoyo B who was really cool and funny and offered us great suggestions on drinks based on what we typically would order.
The drinks here are really good! I had the popcorn milktea with less sweetness and it is great if you don't like super sweet drinks! I came later at night so it was zero line and the drinks came out fast! The service is also really good and it does have a seating area but it's not the biggest place. They also give free samples! Highly recommend coming back!
Aesthetic boba shop with unique drinks in the San Marino area! I got the popcorn milktea with brown sugar tapiochi and it was good, but felt that it could've been better. I was skeptical about the 'popcorn' flavor, but I actually liked it. However, the drink was on the milkier/watered down side. I would've liked more flavor. I did enjoy the brown sugar tapiochi which was soft, chewy, and provided a good amount of sweetness. For around $8, it was on the pricier side for a boba drink. The interior is pretty and I like how the staff does crowd control. They only have a hallway where you can sit with no tables, so not the most ideal for a longer stay. They do have tons of free and easy parking in front which is a plus. I would definitely come back to try the other drinks before I decide to recommend this chain to others.

My wife wanted to try Torotea, so she sent me to pick it up. It was takeout, and I had a bit of a drive home. I wasn't a believer. I kept thinking, *"How many boba shops do we really need?"* One thing that stood out was their ordering system - they don't use the usual percentage options for sweetness and ice. Instead, they have "Perfect Sweet" and "Perfect Ice." Whatever that means, right? I was still skeptical. I waited until I got home so my wife and I could try it together. Mind. Blown. Even though it's a bit of a drive for us, we've already gone back three times in a month. That might not sound like much to some people, but for us to make a special trip just for boba says everything. It's not the fastest. You'll probably wait 5-10 minutes in full, but perfection takes time, and it's absolutely worth it. Suggestion: a stamp or loyalty card would be awesome. No disrespect to the brand, but I think the real Torotea fans would appreciate it. read more

Second time visiting this location, and it was just as good as I remembered! I hadn't been here in a few months, and it looks like they've expanded their menu. They also added more outdoor seating, which is nice since the interior is pretty small. Parking is street parking only, but I've never had any trouble finding a spot. Emily, the cashier, was incredibly friendly and helpful. She took the time to walk us through the new seasonal drinks and menu additions, which made it much easier to decide what to order. Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapioca ($7.85) - My go-to drink! - Perfect level of sweetness without being overpowering - Rich, creamy, nutty flavor - Brown sugar tapioca had the perfect soft and chewy texture (only wished it was cut a bit smaller) Pinewood Milk Tea ($6.85) - Similar to the Popcorn Milk Tea, but with a lighter, more subtle nutty flavor - Still delicious, though I personally prefer the Popcorn Milk Tea Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea ($6.85) - A great option if you're looking for something lighter and more refreshing Everything was made well, and the service made the experience even better. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. Love that they still do daily samples! read more

One of my favorite boba spots in California! The drinks are pricy but so worth it for the taste and quality. Everything is made fresh to order and comes out quickly. The vibe inside are great as well. My favorite is the creme brulee milk tea! read more

Toro Tea is a nice little spot in San Marino. The interior is modern, cozy, and very clean. The server was super friendly and offered us samples while patiently explaining the menu and drink options in detail. I ordered the Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea with less sugar and osmanthus jelly. The tea was excellent -- very fresh, flavorful, and you could really taste the quality of the tea. The osmanthus jelly was a great addition and paired well with the drink. I was also lucky that there was no line today, so ordering was quick and easy. Overall, a pleasant experience with great service and tasty drinks. I'll definitely be back to try more items. read more

It was ok, had higher expectations. Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly ($7.85) Tea flavor could be stronger. Has some oolong taste, and a bit nutty after taste like the staff member mentioned. Not too sweet, creamy but not too creamy. The barley jelly is my favorite! It has so much flavor!! Perfect ice is perfect. The ambiance is nice just like the Diamond Bar location. It does feel a bit smaller and crammed though. Parking in the front is free. Had to park more to the left side though. They offer free lemonade water (spa water) right outside the entrance and sunscreen too! Even though there's a lot of people, I didn't have to wait too long. The staff member that helped me was very nice. I've like their other drinks before but just not the drink I got this time. Also, the price point is very high. read more

Finally had the chance to drop by and try this place! We've always driven by and seen a line but never had the time to go! But we had the chance to go last week and wow! They have the art of lines down to a science! Their store from the outside looks decently sized, but when you go in there's like this really tiny hallway where there are like these seats that are on a concrete slab which makes that hallway even smaller. I didn't really like the flow of the store because of that because there's this big square room that sticks out (I think this is there kitchen?) It feels so unnecessary, aren't boba shops suppose to feel welcoming? Because the size of this shop it can make the line stack up even when there's not a lot of people. Pretty smart for them because what drew me is was the line and this shop is on the main room with a subtle sign so it can be hard to miss But aside from that I enjoyed their drinks! Their boba is so unique, it's like a mochi boba fusion - really yummy! I got their popcorn drink and my fiancé got their osmanthus drink They both were really good! But I preferred the osmanthus drink because the tea was so strong and flavorful but not bitter! Drinks are a bit pricy and one size only I would like to come back but it would have to be a like a once in a while treat read more
I thought the tea here was amazing. The tea flavors definitely pop out more than other places. The teamochi topping is really good! Although I do like the osmanthus jelly a tiny bit more. Jasmine Oolong tastes as if you combined jasmine tea and oolong tea. The khoan im milk tea tastes like tieguanyin tea read more

I tried their limited edition matcha duo einspänner and really enjoyed it. The dark green layer on top looked beautiful and tasted just as good. I also appreciate that their drinks aren't overly sweet. It was perfectly balanced without needing to adjust the sugar level. The place itself is very aesthetic and I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Overall, a great experience. I'd give it a solid 4/5. read more
I got some Torotea deliver by my friends who were in the area so take note that I got this tea probably an hour past when I was supposed to drink it lol. I ordered the Koan-Im Oolong milk tea with their tapiochi, and the misty oolong milk tea with creme brulee and also tapiochi. I think that I generally prefer standard boba to the tapiochi topping, it is more of a mochi style, easily chewed than swallowed. As for the teas themselves, I greatly preferred the Koan-Im's darker flavor to the light of the misty one, and the creme brulee top was pretty tasty. I don't think this is one of my preferred places, but also maybe it is because I didn't get their specialty popcorn milk tea. No clue about the ambience inside, since I got it delivered, but their website and cup holder that the drinks came in were very aesthetic! read more
Went on a Saturday late morning and got parking right in front! Saw a Nice seating area in front and walked in. I was instantly saw how. Ice the interior looked. I saw to my right a very kind person behind the counter, Mathew. He walked me through the menu and offered the popcorn milk tea and the jasmine oolong. Talked to Mathew for a few minutes and he talked About the jellies they put I. And everything. Got my order with these fancy carry cases!!! The taste of the popcorn miles... OMG! The initial Sip was memorable! Later on my long drive I finally took a sip of the jasmine oolong... was still cold and I personally like this a lot more than the popcorn one. Not saying one is less than, but I personally liked the flowery sweet of the jasmine milk tea. When I am in the area again, I plan to come Back!! read more
The Tapiochi here at Torotea is literally the best topping in a milk tea that I've ever had. And I've been an avid milk tea drinker for almost all my life, LOL. I loved the square-ish shape, size, and texture of it. It really WAS like mochi boba. The projector menu was clear to read and pretty cool! The shop is quite small with not a lot of standing/sitting space. There are a lot of options for drinks, so I honestly had a hard time deciding because everything seemed so good. I got the popcorn milk tea, less sweet, perfect ice, and black tea Tapiochi. I would probably opt for perfect sweet next time, as the popcorn flavor wasn't too apparent. I tried the brown sugar Tapiochi in a different drink, and I definitely prefer the black tea Tapiochi. I liked the flavor of the black tea over the sweeter brown sugar. There is a decent amount of street parking and a bathroom. We made the drive from LA to come here, and I would do it again just to have the Tapiochi again. There's also many drinks I'd like to try. look i am a broke college student and id spend my hard earned pennie's at torotea im not even joking. i've got the worst sweet tooth on planet earth like its BAAAAAD i get everything 150% sweet, but i needed to go lighter today. I was close to torotea and never had it before.... so i was like "what if i get something unsweetened and pray i can handle it--" OMFG THE QUALITY OF THIS PLACE IS GOOD. like ugh i love when i can trust a chain the bc the Manor Black Milk Tea was genuinely delicious unsweetened it's like magic. call me unc for not getting something with sugar and actually enjoying it. look and i'm a former bobarista too i know what good tea is :/ ?!?! Genesis behind the counter is SOSOSOSOSO SWEET and tolerated me interrogating her for five minutes about the flavor profiles of all the teas, especially since im into stronger stuff like black teas and hojicha. her energy was unmatched too yall give her a raise nah actually give her the franchise?! We tried the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi, Matcha Einspanner, & Jasmine Oolong Milktea. Honestly, all the drinks were really good. The Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea had a great, strong tea flavor, which I really liked. The Matcha Einspanner was a bit sweeter than I usually get, but it actually worked really well and balanced nicely with the matcha. The Popcorn Milk Tea was surprisingly good, too. It doesn't really taste like popcorn, but it has a unique flavor that pairs well with the topping. I appreciate that the drinks aren't overly sweet at their regular level. I'm a big critic of boba. I grew up in the 626 and have been through the craze with Half & Half, ShareTea, GongCha, and more. When I saw another trendy boba shop open up in the area, I was initially skeptical despite hearing all the rave reviews about Torotea. But after coming here around 7 times now, I can confidently say Torotea is worth the drive and wait. When you arrive, you're introduced to a modern, sleek space with a minimalist look. There is very little tabletop seating, and it's very much an order-and-go place. (Don't recommend trying to study here.) BUT the boba and tea are where they stand out. My personal favorite so far (and the one I've gone back for time and time again) has been the crème brûlée ice milk drink. Trust me on this one: it's the PERFECT combo of creamy milk mixed with roasted tea and the satisfying chew and texture of their grass jelly boba. I'm completely obsessed with this combo and recommend it to everyone who asks me what to try. You won't be disappointed! Plus, breaking the creme brûlée top is so fun! On the plus side, they also have samples up front of their most popular tea flavors, which is great, especially if you want to try something new but don't want to risk buying a whole drink. (Trust me, I've been there!). Service is quick, friendly, and attentive. Even if the line looks long, the most I've waited is 15 minutes. Would give 5 stars just for their tapiochi drinks (tapioca and mochi jelly in their drinks) and more of 4 stars for their drink base! This place is pretty small so the line often starts outside waiting and then you can order inside where the workers give you samples of what they brewed. I got to try their black tea which was sweetened very well. I got the: Manor Black Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi (4.5/5): The Manor black milk tea was deep and rich in flavor with a milky, creamy finish to the base. The start of the show really was the brown sugar tapiochi that I got as an add on. It was the perfect consistency of tapioca and mochi with a jelly like bite to it. This was super unique you don't really find anywhere else in boba shops. They are generous with their tapiochi toppings bc when I got to the end of my drink it was evenly distributed. I do want to come back to try their popcorn milk tea since that's what they are known for. Maybe when I'm feeling adventurous lol. read more

I've heard alot of good things about Torotea, so I knew that I had to give them a try when I was back in the SGV. The ambiance is minimalistic and it looks like a trendy space to enjoy the drinks with someone. There's been talk of long lines, so I made sure to place an order online ahead of time. The drinks are all pretty unique, we ended up getting the Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi ($7.85) and Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly ($7.85). I love Assam tea in general, so I really enjoyed the Popcorn Milk Tea. I got it less sweet and it was the perfect amount. The Ember Milk Tea is a blend of barley tea and roasted oolong tea and I also enjoyed trying it, although I would order the Popcorn Milk Tea over it. Overall, I would say Torotea is pretty good! It's definitely has its own unique teas to make it standout, so definitely give them a try if you're looking for something new. read more
Great drinks and mellow location. Street parking is a little tricky since it's on the Main Street. Love the samples they give you, different each day to explore all the flavors. Love the mochi boba things they offer, unique flavors. Most if not all of the cashiers have been very friendly and helpful. Only one did not really know what she was selling but she might have been new. The ambience is quiet and kinda small not a whole lot of tables but interesting sitting areas. read more
