You can find very fun patches and charms for around ten dollars. The person working there (possibly the owner, though we're not sure as we'd never encountered her before) was very rude and dismissive towards my mom. My mom was talking about her recent flight and some news she had heard about flying, as she had just arrived from out of town to visit me. The woman with short blonde hair suddenly interrupted, saying, "We DO NOT talk about that in here, NOPE! NO!" If you don't want to discuss a topic, there's a polite way to steer the conversation elsewhere. You don't need to be dismissive and rude, especially to customers. My mom felt terrible and shut down immediately. We left and won't be returning. It was a really bizarre and disappointing experience that ruined our visit.

The jewelry is handcrafted, and many pieces include the artist's name and a short bio, which adds such a personal touch. They also carry candles, bags, greeting cards, and products for men, women, and children. The variety is impressive, and I especially appreciated the large selection of handcrafted items. The associates are friendly, welcoming, and genuine. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and I noticed they recognized and acknowledged repeat customers. That's impressive, especially considering the number of tourists who visit the store. Another thing I appreciated is that they don't overwhelm you with emails. Their emails are event-focused and purposeful, which is refreshing. You're paying for quality, craftsmanship, and unique items you won't find just anywhere. The prices reflect the specialty merchandise they carry and the care that goes into selecting it. Parking... well, it's Pasadena! This place, however immediately stands out. When I passed by the store the first time I was struck by a collection of headwear: a beaded cap from the Congo and a hat from the Miao people of China and Southeast Asia. I'm an anthropologist, so I was hooked. This store has an incredibly curated collection: folk altars and santos from Latin America, bronze Buddhist statues and jewelry from around the world. The owner is quite a world traveler and it shows in her collection. Definitely a place for the culturally curious. Along with the numerous artifacts are small gifts: some wonderfully fragrant soaps (my favorites were rose geranium and patchouli/sandalwood), beeswax candles and some interesting kitchenware. She wrapped up my wind chime and bagged the card (now discovered to be two). When I got home, I phoned them right away when I saw the other card was stuck to it! I explained what happened and asked to pay for the mishap! Gigi was extremely helpful in figuring out how I could do so and thanked me for my honesty. I'm just glad we could sort it out! And there's a very large collection of pottery, including bowls, dishes and coffee mugs. This place is an excellent place to shop for those who are intrigued by foreign cultures. And the prices are extremely reasonable. And besides for being reasonable, you can find nice pieces in the under ten dollar range, well into the one hundred and fifty or more. This was our first time here, and my wife actually planned this as part of our anniversary date, so we were really looking forward to it. We walked in and the store was completely empty. We said hi, but the girl working there just looked at us. We even had to ask if she worked there because she didn't say anything. She just gave us a weird look and nodded. It honestly made us feel like we weren't supposed to be there. We looked around anyway, but all of the machines were out of order, which was already disappointing. We figured we'd at least make a photo frame instead, but by that point we just felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave. It's such a shame because the store is colorful and has fun music playing, but the customer service was the complete opposite. A simple "Hi, welcome!" would've gone a long way. Definitely not the experience we were expecting, especially for our first visit. We won't be coming back.
