Our party of four enjoyed our dinners. Food was very good, but the menu is limited & they only offer 1 type of starch and vegetable for your sides.. Descriptions of our dishes are included in my pictures. The restaurant is a little cramped & service was slow. Prices are a bit higher than I expected & same applied for drink prices. This cozy dinner restaurant (opens @ 4:30) is a must! It is located in a small strip center between a Vape shop and Supercuts. Reservations are recommended. One of the best meals I've had in quite a while. The overall experience was excellent. I had the Cajun pork chop that was topped with two stuffed banana peppers. Pork chop was tender and juicy. 4.5 stars overall. Cala Lily Restaurant and Bar serves foods such as soups, salads, salmon, pork chop, and filet mignon. Compared to a regular dinner menu, an "early dinner" menu offers a slightly smaller selection of foods for slightly smaller serving sizes and prices. Please see my attached photos for the food and alcohol menus in April 2024. I made a reservation for my husband and me for the opening time. A seating hostess immediately said hello and seated us at a small table. Soon our waitress Amanda introduced herself. Throughout our meal, her service was timely and courteous. Here are my husband's and my reviews for our foods: Bread - 5 stars - These bread rolls were fresh and warm and had a crispy outside and moist inside. Lobster ravioli - 4.5 stars - This appetizer consisted of two large raviolis that were filled with lobster meat and topped with a flavorful sauce and nuts. Calamari rings - 4 stars - These calamari rings were fried and looked as large as onion rings. On the side was a tasty cocktail sauce. Maryland-style crab patties - 4.5 stars - This entree consisted of two large crab cakes that were meaty and on top of much sauce. On the side were fresh green beans, carrots, and scalloped potatoes that tasted very good. Maine lobster and crab bisque - 5 stars - I really enjoyed this cup of soup. Chicken-noodle soup - 4 stars - My husband ate half of this cup of soup, and he said that it tasted good but typical. Cajun gulf shrimp and filet mignon tips - 4.5 stars - Perfectly cooked linguini was topped with shrimp and filet mignon tips. My husband ate this entree, and he said that he enjoyed all of it except for the peppers. On the side were green beans and carrots. Tips: As of the time of my review, this restaurant is open only for dinner. The space is somewhat small, so the restaurant recommends reservations. The dress code appears to be casual. I wore a blouse with jeans and ballet flats. read more

Ok ... Updating my review ... I've looked over some of the other reviews and even my last review (3 Stars). I think part of the problem with a restaurant on the upper scale of pricing, if everything isn't absolutely perfect your getting slammed with a bad review. So, let's forget about the price for a moment. The food and service on this trip were exceptional! The food was only out-shined by the service from Joyce. For the appetizer we had Chicken Quesadillas (maybe the best I ever tasted). Also, had Lobster Bisque soup (good) We had the Lobster Ravioli which was excellent with plenty of flavor and LOTS of seafood! We had the Porkchop(Cajun style) good and spicy. We had the Crabcakes, they were really good with a nice sauce. We tried (2)two deserts both were "Knock-your-socks off" good. Cala-Lily (traditional) Cala-Lily ( some type of Peanut butter) Ok ... My husband and I just moved to the area and we had several recommendations to try this restaurant and we were thoroughly impressed by the atmosphere the service and the amazing food and drinks that we were served during our visit. Everybody was so friendly. It was fast and incredible service and everything tasted wonderful for food. Everything I got was perfect. My husband got oysters and he got a pasta dish, and I had pork chops and mushroom and a salad. Everything was delicious. He said his pasta was a little salty, but other than that everything was made to order and everybody was kind the prices were good. The sizes the portions were very filling and there was a lot of food. It was just a great place to go really close to home and gives you the downtown feel without having to go downtown I highly recommend and will become a regular. I absolutely loved the food. The wait staff were super attentive and made sure our drinks were filled regularly. The menu was filled with mouth watering seafood dishes. Yesterday, we had an Appletini and Key Lime Martinis. Both were tasty, ice cold and had a generous pour. Lobster Bisque soup was creamy, warm and delicious. Dinner was Pork Steak and Filet Mignon. Such a great place! This cozy spot is a great place to go for fabulous food. Tables are situated around the bar in the restaurant. The service was good and there were several specials available. Three of us chose to select regular menu items and one went with a special. The lobster ravioli was served with perfectly prepared seafood and topped with pine nuts. It was flavorful and definitely did not disappoint. The chicken piccata was done perfectly and the sauce was spot on. The Cajun pork chop was flavorful and the banana peppers were the perfect complement. The Jack Daniels pork chop was the only thing we likely wouldn't reorder - truly because there are so many great menu options. The wine list provided a few nice options without breaking the bank. What a wonderful dinner! Everything we ordered was perfect, and I don't use that description often. Salads, entrees (crab cakes for him, cod for me), sides, and a slice of birthday cake were perfectly prepared. Our server Amanda was attentive and friendly. We have been disappointed with many restaurants since the end of Covid, but Cala Lily has not let up on its quality - or service. We highly recommend. The restaurant is very small and was very crowded on a Friday evening. Make reservations ahead of time. Our server was very sweet and gave us good recommendations! We ordered the hoelzel as an appetizer. It was okay. It had a lot of crab meat, however we weren't expecting it to be cold. I ordered the lobster ravioli and my husband ordered the Cajun filet mignon & gulf shrimp over linguine. Food was pretty good, came with a lot of meat! Had dinner here last night for my bookclub. It was the first time all (9) of us had been there. Everything was set up for us when we arrived- which is impressive with it being a smaller establishment. The waitress was so kind & took the time to explain everything & answer all our questions. Also made sure to check if anyone was gluten free. Most of the girls got fish- and everyone enjoyed their meals to say the least. I had the chicken piccata, and it was just as good for breakfast as it was last night. Bread was fresh, everything was top notch. Will be back for sure. We had eaten at Cala Lily before, but it had been many years. We were celebrating so i made a reservation there to surprise my wife. Being a Saturday night it was pretty busy. It was a little louder than i had expected, not sure why people think they need to yell when conversing with their table mates. The food there is very good. Some reviews say it's overpriced but i do not agree. Their "early" menu is full of great choices and the portions were large enough that we both took food home with us. Wife had the lobster ravioli and i had the cajun pork chop which had a nice kick to it. Done perfectly, lean and delicious. Overall a great meal. The only thing we didn't like was the sugar free chocolate cake. We took a piece home and it was not good. I would avoid it if you go. It was so bad we didn't even finish the piece we brought home to share. Other than that it is a solid choice and the service was steller! read more

Everything about this restaurant is 5 star. Standard menu items early and late, quality foods individually made. Specials are to die for. The care Rick puts into these meals is to us is beyond belief. It features a vast menu of homemade classics and a daily list of mouth-watering specials, which makes it nearly impossible to pick only one entree!! I heard the chicken piccata was a best seller and thought about it all day. I almost got a seafood special. So glad I didn't! This chicken just melts in your mouth and the flavor pops! This gem is the best restaurant in Allegheny County if not all of southwestern PA. I have been dining there since 2002 and Rick and staff never fail to provide an outstanding dining experience. On this visit, we introduced our friends to this amazing place. They both said it was the best meal they ever had. I can't agree more. Our dinner included Crab Hoelzel, Escargot, Pablano Chili Relleno, Hummus, Filet and Lobster tails, Crab stuffed Portabello and an awesome fish special that I believe was Pampano.
