Really nice small, local Italian spot in Lower Burrell. The menu consists mostly of Italian-American classics and they seem to keep it pretty simple, but do things well. I got to try their chicken park hoagie (half size) and the apple pie. The chicken park hoagie was great. The chicken seemed fresh and high quality, not rubbery like in many places. Breaded well. Cheese was pretty decent as well. Good portion, satisfying. Red sauce was flavorful but not too standout. I would recommend the sandwich. You also get to choose a side when you order something like a sandwich, and I went with hush puppies. They were okay but I wish I tried something else. Not super flavorful and pretty dry. The apple pie wasn't necessarily standout but did hit the spot. Lots of apple chunks and a good portion. Not too sweet. Enjoyed. All in all, I like this little spot. I could see myself getting another sandwich from here. Would recommend. read more

An excellent restaurant in the old Hillcrest shopping center! Stopped by with a friend for lunch. The server was prompt with initial drinks, refills, and our orders. I had the Cobb salad with chicken and their house basalmic, which was exceptional. She very much enjoyed a meatloaf sandwich with gravy and fries (the special). The fries were terrific! Rudy's Table is a great place to eat. The staff is friendly always accommodating . we have never had anything bad there and we have been going since they opened. The salmon is delicious. My husband loves their chef salad. The setting is very nice too. Music is playing in the background but not loud. One of the best pasta meals I have ever had in Lower Burrell. Would go back again and again for the Spicy Sausage Rosa (sub fettuccine noodles). Great homemade sausage, nice spice to the sauce, and big enough I could not finish it. Apps were also perfectly prepared, the best fried zucchini I have had in a long time. read more

The salads and soup course was divine! The entrees were delicious! We especially liked the sauces. Our chicken Marsala was exquisite! Matt made it gluten free for us which was an added bonus for the celiacs in our group. Others at our table had a delicious lasagna and beef stroganoff. For dessert, we enjoyed the apple pie ala mode. Great addition to the old local town. Place was full, yet we got a table without reservations. Lasagna, Penne/Chicken/Feta in garlic & EVOO was delicious. Wedding soup was on point. First time here, and not the last when we visit. Wife and I liked it much better than the previous ownership. Only suggestion would be to consider some mild background music? Maybe something in the Frank Sinatra genre or vein. Thumbs up. read more

Newly opened. Struggling with food shortages and wash short of mashed potatoes. Nice enough selections. Food was tasty and service was decent. We will probably try again in a few months to see if they can get over the rough start and see the progress they've made being open for a while to do a follow up! OMGosh I will never go back to Rudy's table. Zeke got their split pea soup and he said, it must be his tastebuds, after the radiation combined with the chemo, cause the soup tasted like dirt. I thought, what a goofball, but I tasted it and I swear to God and I never swear to God, it tasted like dirt/top soil. How do you make anything taste like dirt????? I got the chicken Romano and it had absolutely no taste, none/ zilch/ zero taste. It should have tasted buttery/lemony/ maybe with a lil hint of wine nadda and they served it with mashed potatoes. Who serves it with mashed, it's always and I mean always served with pasta. I should have insisted on going to Villa BALANCA for $16 instead of $20 and I would have had much better food read more

My boyfriend and I went here last night. We got seated fast but only actually talked to our server 3 times. She got us drinks took our order and brought me my side salad, after that someone else brought my boyfriend his soup, our main course(chicken wings and tenders). Our server was too busy talking at a table for 15 minutes to check on us. She didn't even bring us our bill or take our card, the other waiter did. My tenders were undercooked and my boyfriend's wings still had a bunch of of hairs and feathers on them. I would not recommend going there. read more

My husband and I used to go to the previous restaurant on occasion, so I was excited to try the replacement. The decor is the same as it was when it was Elana's, and that was nice to see. They have an excellent wait staff that was attentive. Now then, why am I giving 3 stars? The food. We ordered zucchini app that was both incredibly greasy (and not in a yum way, but an eww way) and undercooked. I'm not sure how that even happens. We each ordered a sandwich, and while my husband said his was ok, mine was so greasy. The fries also tasted like cod, which makes me think the grease hasn't been changed. My wife and I ate at this local restaurant Tuesday night this week. The food was delicious! I had fried shrimp that had a wonderful breading on them. The hush puppies were huge and tasty. Very nice staff, very clean place as well. Tried the meatball hoagie and the hot sausage hoagies .very large size and very tasty . Lots more bread than I enjoy but simple enough to just not eat it . Fries were very good and crispy . Only thing I would have wanted was lots more sauce on the hoagie but I solved it by asking for more and they got us some . With as many Italian dishes that they serve they should also have Parmesan cheese on the tableside all the time with some hot pepper flakes as well. read more

Our first time and our sandwiches were very good. My fish was well cooked and I only ate half. Coleslaw came with it. My husband's Italian Sub was good & it was huge. He could only eat half. Rudy's Table is excellent in its highly attentive staff. It benefits too in being in the old Elena's, something of a local institution for a great number of years. There is a certain association that some may make between old Elena's and new Rudy's, but that is not a fair comparison, as Elena's too was once new and yet had to achieve its strong reputation So Rudy's has a ways to go, and while we will likely go back, it won't be for awhile. In the meantime, I would hope this restaurant revises several things: 1. Prices. It's way too expensive at $20+ for most dinners. 2. Quality of those dinners. I have a strong sense a good portion of our four dinners were frozen/microwaved, jarred/heated, or sous vide. Case in point--the chicken for Marsala and Parmesan were exactly the same size and shape. 3. Accuracy of those orders. Three out of four dinners had a mistake. 4. Decor. Distinguish yourself from Elena's by changing the decor. 5. Hours. Stay open past 7pm. We want you to stay but you will have to adapt to your local diners. Eight of us stopped in at Rudy's table for lunch. I had the special, which was Chicken Picatta. One other person had it too. Everybody else had something different and liked it. I thought the Bruschetta appetizer was probably the best I had. You take a bite and you can taste all the different flavors going on. Service was very accommodating. My mom and I had a great experience at Rudy's Table this evening! The servers and staff are friendly and prompt, and our dinners were delicious. My mom had the spaghetti special and said that their meat sauce was excellent (which is impressive coming from an Italian grandma). I had the grilled salmon, which was fantastic. The tomato jam and balsamic glaze put the salmon over the top - the flavors were amazing! We definitely will be back again soon! read more

This place used to be Elena's Restaurant - which had a reputation for great food. Over the past years my wife and I ate there at least 50 times - we never had a bad meal. Although the interior of Rudy's Table looked like the old Elena's - it stoped there. Elena's red sauce over any pasta was to die for. Rudy's red sauce over our gnocchi and lasagna was bland and tasteless. Elanna's also had the best bread - at Rudys we were served two microwaved rolls that after cooling were not chewable. The price for our 2 pasta dishes was 35.00 - much to high for the quality of food we received. While the great memories associated with Elena's will live forever - I believe Rudy's needs a visit from "Restaurant Impossible" if it expects to survive. read more
