Caleb was a pleasure to work with! We had him do our wedding photos and the engagement session was included. He was very personable in setting up everything and easy to talk to. When we met for our engagement session, we sat and got to know each other a little bit over coffee before actually taking pictures. This totally helped take the edge off and awkwardness of having our pictures taken. During the shoot we just wandered around the area and he would point out cool places for pictures or suggest certain poses, but it was very comfortable and casual. When we got the engagement photos back they were exactly as we hoped, very candid and nothing looked overly posed. Following this experience, the day of the wedding went great, he showed up on time and was all over the place throughout the event. Although we haven't seen the photos yet, we know they will capture all that we wanted! Caleb is a great photographer for someone looking for a non-traditional, more artistic eye. His photography is beautiful and his approach is much different than the rigid, posed approaches that we saw in other photographers. read more

Caleb and his assistant (also named Caleb) were an incredible part of our wedding celebrations. He was a joy to work with - from planning, to our engagement shoot, to the actual wedding weekend, he was easygoing, friendly, and honestly just someone I want to hang out with! He took such care in genuinely getting to know us before the big day so that it felt like we were all old friends. I wish I could give Caleb 10 stars. He is seriously a wonderful photographer. His photos aren't stiff or posey. They look very natural. He did our engagement and wedding photos. Our wedding was on 2 days. It was so hard to find a photographer to commit to both days, but Caleb was there ready to go, like a champ. I could not be happier with how our photos came out. Just absolutely stunning. He has a great eye for what he does. He also got our photos to us very fast. He knows how to capture the moment. And his post processing is fabulous. Nothing is over done. Caleb Hill has really mastered his art of photography. My boyfriend, Justin, and I, wanted to take a few photos for our anniversary .We wanted to capture special places and memorable moments that have been a part of us and our relationship. Caleb, and his beautiful fiancé, Ashley, came over to Justin's house to help us with styling and to hear what Justin and I really hoped for in our photos. They were so sweet and personable and understood the feel that we were going for. Our first place to shoot was my boyfriend's family's Avocado Grove. It's such a gorgeous location that really meant a lot to him as well as myself. There was no posing, it was just Justin and me in our own little loving world while Caleb and Ashley were able to snap incredible photos without us even being aware photos were being snapped at that point. He was able to capture romance, moments, and little smirks that I've only seen on Justin's face. After we were done shooting in the grove, Justin and I took Caleb and Ashley around for a tour. They wanted to hear why this location had special meaning to us. They were even brave enough to go up in the cherry picker with us to see a gorgeous view of the back country of Redlands. From there, we made our way to downtown Redlands where Justin and I had our first date at a little corner coffee shop. Caleb directed us to the best lighting possible, photographed us with beautiful backdrops, and really made us feel confident with whatever came natural to Justin and myself. I had a few silly ideas that Caleb completely encouraged. He really listened to any ideas that we had and captured them all beautifully. The entirety of the day was so enjoyable. The 4 of us laughed a lot. We felt so comfortable which is paramount when taking candid photos. Caleb captured moments that we will treasure always. I highly recommend his photography services. Caleb John Hill photography is simply the best you can get. My boyfriend, Cory, decided he wanted to give me a self-less gift for Valentine's Day. He knew how much I love photography and how much he hates taking any sort of pictures with me so he let me know that's what he wanted to do. I was so happy and emailed around to see my options. After getting a preview of the photoshoots on Caleb's blog, I was already hooked. I was drawn to the fact that his photos gave such a wide variety of originality, all done with high quality, and I could see his skillful photographer's eye gave a peculiar touch that I knew would be so hard to find else ware. We set a date for the shoot, left the place up to Cory, and got a very generous deal that I knew would be more than worth it. We had Caleb follow us out to the middle of nowhere for a desert background (can be viewed on his website), and Caleb and his fiancé Ashley helped unpack a ton of props to set the scene I was wanting (I'll admit, I kind of got carried away). When it was time to start, Cory froze. He was dreading it the entire ride there and was hating the anticipation of being in front of a camera. While he questioned everything he had planned, Caleb and Ashley waited patiently (thank God for their patience) and made light of the situation by explaining how nervous they got with their engagement photos, etc because they are so used to being behind the camera. After a little bit of talking to Caleb about it, Cory eased up and about 5 min into the shoot, he realized he was talking and laughing with me and enjoying it (all the while, Caleb and Ashley were snapping away!) It was so perfect and just the atmosphere we needed to get started. I don't know how they got the shots they did because we literally were talking the entire time! Not once did we stop to pose in silence. We moved around a lot but all the while, totally enjoying ourselves! It was beyond perfect for our case. The 45 min flew by and I was nervous he didn't even get any shots, but he showed me a few and later sent me way more than I was expecting! I couldn't believe it. He got us comfortable, laughing, and even bummed when it was over. That, my friends, was real talent. And of course, the best part is, the pictures are unreal. I catch myself still looking through them daily. Caleb has mastered this art and I am hoping to continue to have him in future plans :) If you are looking for posed, prom-like shots, I would not recommend using Caleb. His best shots are candid, and no smiles come forced. I can say that with full confidence, knowing if he could put Cory and I at ease, he can do that for anyone out there. Caleb has done a phenomenal job overall and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a chic look, bringing out your absolute best in each shot :) read more

Where to start?? Caleb is a new kind of photographer. The way he approaches portrait photography is specific to each person he photographs. From the start he worked closely with me in order to full capture my personality and my vision. As a photographer and person he is a fun, personable, creative individual that made me feel comfortable in front of a camera. He's someone who is easy going and easy to talk to and it made my photo session enjoyable the resulting photos were fantastic and unique and exactly what I was visioning when I came to him for his photography services. Caleb was the best photographer I could've hired for my wedding! From the pre-wedding meeting to the final email with all my beautiful wedding images, Caleb was so easy to work with. He knew exactly what I wanted and executed it wonderfully. He and Ashley were terrific on the day of the wedding, capturing all the special moments without you even knowing that they were there. (This was important to me because I didn't want to feel like I had a camera in my face all day!) I can not say how many compliments I got about Caleb! All of my guests wanted to know where I found him and everyone raved about the end results. He and Ashley were so much fun to have around during the reception as well!
