Went to CALI nails yesterday. I made an appointment first . It seems like most places are busy so an appointment is necessary. I had the pleasure of Hong to give me my pedicure. She's an absolute sweetheart and very good and meticulous at what she does! It took me over three years to finally find somebody to give a good pedicure and personable. We had pleasant conversations. it's a small place but well worth your time going. It was just her and another manicurist there. Best to make an appointment a couple of days in advance if you can. She says they're not really busy on Saturdays so everybody that likes to go on Saturdays give them a call. I will definitely be only going here. The place was clean and they had lots of nail polish to choose from. That's another thing you go somewhere and they hardly have any nail polishes or they're all used up. The absolute worst mani pedi ever!! The lady didn't understand what I was saying and didn't care. I have polish in my cuticles and my nails are smudged in three spots. I tried to communicate but she showed me the door. The salo. Does not use any disinfectant anywhere, I saw her give a little rinse and wipe dry and the put back in the box with the rest of her tools. I picked this place due to the positive yelp reviews. Sadly, my experience was not positive. My aunt and I made an appointment for a regular manicure and a gel manicure. We arrive to have the same woman juggle doing both of our nails. Then, when her other appointment came in, she pushed me off on another person to fin sh my manicure. He then had an appointment come in and rushed through my gel polish. If you don't plan to be a regular at this place, don't go. They seem to only cater to their regulars, even when you make an appointment. read more

In short terms: Cali Nails goes above and beyond to satisfy customers and keep them coming back. This first visit already has me a loyal customer. I was so grateful to find a place to redo my sad looking gel manicure on a Sunday. I called ahead and they told me that they stop taking people at 4 on Sundays, and told me to come in right at 4. I was running a bit late and was worried they would be annoyed when I rushed through the door at ten after 4. They were happy to see me and still had clients sitting and waiting anyways. I was seated and attended to immediately. Hong was the lady working with me, she was wonderful. We had great conversation throughout my appointment. My previous gel manicure was way too thick and she was very careful and thorough when removing it all. My manicure was flawless. The $25 gel manicure includes the manicure, so you're not hit with another $12 just to get your hands looking nice. One thing that puts them above and beyond expectation is not only the care they use, but they guarantee your gel mani for 2 weeks and will touch it up free of charge. That hit me as such good customer service. I will most certainly be back to see Hong, I was so pleased with her work. I'm sure everyone here is just as skilled and pleasant. They have always been a super clean place so easy for them to stay on top of the extra cleaning. Thai, Hong, Trang and Flower have all done a great job on my nails. I have natural nails. The lady who did my eyebrows today instead of following my natural brow she arched them to the point of them looking like a clowns eyebrows. As someone that does eyebrows, you always follow the same guide as the eyebrow they come with unless client asks for otherwise. I found Cali when I was vacationing on Anna Maria Island in January. My elderly mother and I needed a mani/pedi pronto and they were able to accommodate us on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The nail techs we each had, and I am sorry I can't remember their names, were gentle, thorough and took their time. I had such a wonderful experience at Cali Nails today! The staff really does go above and beyond to satisfy customers. It was a beautiful day outside and the door was cracked. I was wearing shorts and during my pedicure they asked if I was cold and I told them I was ok, but a woman brought a towel to put on my legs anyway "just in case"! I thought it was such a nice gesture. They were also really helpful with finding just the right natural pink color for the gel polish and the staff was so happy and pleasant. The ladies in the shop are very kind and do a decent job - the nail work was very good but the message was short and unnoticeable. Thought the prices were high for the lack of massage work. Went in for a mani-pedi. The pedicure was average. The manicure was a mess. He didn't clean around the edges at all. There was no color on the edge of the nails, a pet peeve of mine. And it seemed as though he couldn't get rid of me fast enough, although I was very polite and even left a tip. I have been visiting my son here in Bradenton from my home in St. Augustine. I was in dire need of a pedicure and today, August 23, 2016, found Cali Nails next to the Bealls store where I was shopping on Manatee Avenue. It was 5:55 and the sign said they closed at 6 but they had several patrons inside and welcomed me in. My last pedicure in St. Augustine was NOT a good one (took the girl 20 minutes) and as such I really needed some attention. Was I EVER given it! This was the BEST pedicure I have ever had outside of a pricey day spa experience. It took almost an hour and the manicurist kept checking, "Does it hurt here, because I really need to do some work in this spot." Turns out she was a nurse in Vietnam! It was like I was at the DENTIST, not at a nail spa!! And the price? $25.00!! It was pouring rain when I was finished around 7 and waited for it to subside...I saw how thoroughly they cleaned this salon!! They were still at it when I left around 7:30. I was also given a frequent patron card which provides $10.00 off after 10 services. Appointments suggested as they were saying how full they are over the next few days....and I'm sure that's common and for good reason. This is a quality place and could easily charge much more.
